Stuart Duff can leave Aberdeen if he finds a new club

 

Aberdeen midfielder Stuart Duff will be allowed to leave the Scottish Premier League club - if the 28-year-old can find a new club.

Duff was signed by former manager Jimmy Calderwood following his release by Dundee United two years ago.

Although the player does not want to leave the Dons, he is not in manager Mark McGhee's plans.

He recently returned from a month-long loan spell with Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Division One.

Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher had wanted to retain him for longer, but the commuting from Aberdeen to Inverness was not suitable for the player.

Inverness's First Division rivals, Partick Thistle, could be a destination for Duff.

The midfielder has made 10 appearances for Aberdeen this season but has played just four minutes as a substitute since the turn of the year.

I thought this particular philosophy was an essential part of being an Aberdeen supporter?

Good post; that said I feel personally we should be looking at having a crux of 14-16 good players interchangable with suspensions/injuries then having youngsters to cover any injuries. We'd have to be pretty fortunate with injuries to be successful but if we were it would be a lot more enjoyable as a fan than having to watch duff/grassi/mackie.
