Scottish Premiership: Aberdeen v Rangers

Best Aberdeen Goal Ever?

Recommended Posts

I was at that game at Tynecastle, I remember loads of Hearts fans left well before the final whistle.  A fair few of them were throwing their scarves away too.

We were pish that season, I think they expected to thump us that day, I remember not expecting us to win at all never mind by four.

Billy Dodds second goal at Tynecastle in one of the last games of the 1994/95 season is another for me. Probably wasn't a great finish (although he was a very clinical striker) but I just remember the bounce. Would have been 7 at the time and there was no backs to the seats. When the goal went in 3 men fell on top of me, total squashing me. Panicked until I looked up at my dad and he's just standing there smiling then hugs some random man to his right. Appreciate it more now realising how big a deal relegation would have been. One of my earliest moments of football and probably what made me fall in love with football itself (no not the men lying on top of me, that came later).

I remember that goal, great cross from Grant landed it right on the wee pricks head...he couldn't miss! (well, he could have, but you know what i mean) I was in the front row that day right where the players came up to the fence to celebrate, one of the best bounces ever.

The one where the Motherwell keeper threw the ball off Mackie's back and it went in was a classic!

I don't remember many goals from real life - i prefer the tv replays  :-\

Fail.

If you'd bothered to go to the game rather than run away, you would know it was against Kilmarnock.

I'm sure Doddsy (as he was affectionately known at the time) scored more than 'Deadly Dunc' that season?

It was a mad bounce, don't think i've been in one like that since. Was awesome.

Shearer was injured for a lot of that season. As i've said before, scoring 16 goals a season - 8 of which are penalties - meaning you've scored less than one goal a month from open play is pretty fucking horrific for a striker. Hideous player, and you know it Bobo... you just have to admit it to yourself..  ;D

There was goal that season, Shearer against Rangers in the job that got Aitken the job. Great finish from Shearer but Doddsys vision to make the chance was nothing short of unreal. Really showed that his all round game had everything. If he'd been two inches taller and with a better hair cut he'd have made it in the Premiership.

Best one ive seen while at the game would have to be either Stewart at Parkhead to make it 3-2 ( my mate went crowd surfing and knocked Diamond on his arse in the process)

Jamie Smiths 1st against Copenhagen, Zeroualis free kick mentioned above or Mackies volley against Hearts last season

Best one ive seen footage of ? Either Jess at Ibrox, Mulgrew at Parkhead last season in 3-2 defeat (not the set piece one) or Rico v Torino

I'm fond of the Mimms, Gillhaus, Nicholas, Goal! effort that didn't touch the ground.

Gets my vote, I was in the south stand and had a great view of it.  What a strike.

Seve v the huns is a close second for it's importance, and quality, and of course because of the opposition.

I also remember McKimmie's strike at Tynecastle shortly after he scored an OG, and Peter Weir scoring direct from a free kick at Tynecastle also, special because it was the first time I'd seen anyone bend the ball round a wall like that.  Weir was magic on his day.

I fucking love threads like this, happy memories.  ;D

A couple for me....

Eoin Jess against the great unwashed...takes the ball down in the centre circle..and he`s away!!

Brilliant finish.

The other one (against the huns again) was at Pittodrie in the 92-93 season when the Donald stand was being built....

It was`nt the finish by Shearer, but the lead up play...pass,pass,pass.....the huns never got a sniff of the ball until they took the kick off!!

And i will have to give a special mention for Rico`s screamer against Torino..what a goal.
