Jute Posted yesterday at 17:20 Report Posted yesterday at 17:20 Airdrie relegated to league 1 after defeat by Alloa today. Alloa will play Stenhousemuir after they beat Queen of the South on penalties following a 2-2 draw. League 2 play off final between Hamilton and Clyde after they saw off Forfar and Spartans respectively. 1st leg of Promotion/Relegation play off at bottom of league 2 between Brora and Edinburgh City finished 1-1. To be fair to Brora they looked like a team that hadn’t played in a few weeks in the bits I saw. Linlithgow not being being able to play in play offs has probably put them at a disadvantage. Innes Lawson being back has made a massive difference to City as well. I suspect like Zaid (signing for East Kilbride) he won’t be at City next season. On their day both should be playing at a higher level than league 2. 1 Quote

If it comes down to the last day, one set of fans is going to go home miserable. Either way is fine. It's a win-win for me as one of them has to lose. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago I watched most of the Hearts game last night and watching the jambo cunts twirl their scarves above their heads, before kick off, convinced me a bottle job is incoming. I think this would be a bigger failure than 86 was. I would take comfort from our own miserable season, that us inflicting their first defeat of the season, could cost them the league in the end. A beautiful thought and that's what makes fitba so great. 1 1 Quote

Hearts are crawling to the finish line and Halkett and Leonard doing their Achilles means they are in real bother. They should see off Falkirk but Motherwell look like they are pretty stretched too. I’m not sure Motherwell have the levels now to beat Celtic if they don’t blow it themselves. Welsh won’t play and McGinn was out last night so that’s their solid CB pairing. Think teams can see how to subdue them now, Hearts did well to stifle any ability to create through middle of the park. Hard to see that Hearts team go to CP and win now. tlg1903 Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago 3-1 now, maeda with an over head for the third and his finish for the second wasn't awful either Quote
RicoS321 Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago The Jambos guaranteed second, and likely reaching 80 points is damned impressive. Quote
tlg1903 Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago huns have completely turned on Rohl after that Quote

Indeed, that said whoever wins the league this season will be the worst team to have won the Scottish top flight for a looooooooooong time. Quote

We were second on 73. 2012-13 Tims won it with only 79 points. Motherwell second on 63. I'm guessing the winner this season will be 83. It could be argued that the Tims took their foot off it in both those seasons, but I'm not convinced. If you can get to 80 points then you have an outside chance twice a decade basically. Most other years you'd be a few wins short. They've been lucky with the timing, but not much else. They've also taken the Tims points total down by 8 with their results against them, so it's certainly deserved. Quote
wee toon red Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago There’s been a lot of chat about how terrible the winners are/will have been. I think it’s defensive or jealousy on all fronts: Huns making excuses, Tims trying to blame their board rather than the team and everyone else absolutely gutted that hearts might win it and take the dubious honour of last team to win it outside of the cheeks from us. Whoever wins it will deserve it and I sincerely hope it’s Hearts that get it done. They’ve stepped up hugely this season and their record against this cheeks is outstanding and shows what really needs to be done to win the league. Quote
