Ajja Posted yesterday at 16:51 Report Posted yesterday at 16:51 Id like to see Topi get a shot at playing in a different team that potentially suited his skills. As has been said he was driven into the ground that first season and then asked to play in various unfamiliar roles in a team lacking in any confidence. He really hasn’t had a chance. There have been games where he showed some real ability so Im not fully convinced he should be junked just yet. There is a danger that in scrapping the whole lot of them, we disrupt the squad significantly, replacing good footballers with mid-table Prem journeymen just because we crave stability. Someone, somewhere on the pitch is gonna need to be a baller. 3 Quote
firphuxachemin Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago I wish we could see the Topi that was at Helsinki. Quite a highlights video on YouTube whilst he was there. Quote
Panda Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Interesting to see what our favoured formation will be under Robinson next season. We played a 3-5-2 towards the end of the season. Robinson previously was a 3-4-3 man at St Mirren, although this season played 3-5-2 as well. He appears to have hinted to a few people that he wants to play a back four next season, and he did say in his first interview with RedTV his favoured formation was 4-3-3. Did I imagine it, or did we play a 4-3-1-2 on the final day v Dundee, that looked a 4-4-2 out of possession? Have to say, I did drift off a few times during that game so didn't pay much attention, but is that a wee hint how Robinson sees next season? Based on the current squad (and it is early in the window of course), that could be Briedl in central midfield, Keskinen and Lyons either side of him, Ronan the more advanced. It could develop into a 4-3-3 too. Never mind this World Cup, roll on our first pre-season friendly. Quote

Onwards and upwards from here, must admit to being relatively happy with our recent signings and if it's true we have agreed a deal for Ronan then that's another decent addition as well. It's a good start, and still a lot more work to be done. COYR Quote
Ajja Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago If he’s going to persist with a back 5/3 then we’ll need to sign some players who are able to play as WBs and can stay fit. I’m not sure either Frame or Lobban are suited to that system, hence they didn’t get as much game time as we hoped in second half of the season. They feel like more conventional FBs in a 4 but that leaves us quite vulnerable unless we have the midfield to protect that back line. Quote
tlg1903 Posted 38 minutes ago Report Posted 38 minutes ago This opinion piece by Sean Wallace reads an awful lot like a tame journalist trying to groom the support into think signing Miovski on loan would be a good thing because the club have asked him to. https://archive.ph/8r6S3 Edit. Don't mind the link BTW, it's just a webpage archive that's handy for getting past paywalls Quote
wee toon red Posted 3 minutes ago Report Posted 3 minutes ago I can’t see it happening but if we could get Miovski back we’d be mental not to take him. Quote
