Don Julio Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago I’m trying to keep an open mind. Couldn’t tell you anything about the pair even though I must have watched them play us 4 times this season. What would have been our reaction to Stuart Findlay or Harry Milne this time last year? Quote
BigAl Posted 10 hours ago Author Report Posted 10 hours ago So as a fan base we are delusional Then one of his fellow Squirrel Humpers pips up with the thought that they could get Mitov as their back up keeper Quote

I'd like to think we could take each on its own merits. Findlay was clearly a very good defender for the SPFL. Milne was a gamble, but more the type of gamble I think most would have been happy with. Mayo probably sits in the Findlay category, maybe slightly below (Welsh might be better, for example). Lyons strikes me as very average, a bottom six player. I'd prefer we took a slight gamble on someone like Stanway. Not sure there's room for both. Quote
The.Moog Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Well this is an indicator of where we are after absolutely spaffing all that cash last couple of years. Still, Mayo is a right sided CH who is big, physical and can actually head a ball from what I’ve seen, so that’s a massive upgrade for me. Assuming Tobers is back in the mix next season, that’s Milne replaced at the back so its a good start for me. Lyons I can’t say I know much about, so lets see what he brings if he comes… Quote
tlg1903 Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago Allegedly looking at Jason Kerr. Came through at St J and has been playing for Wigan the past 5 years and was captain. Robinson defo seems to be trying to get some more leaders into the team it would seem. Quote
GASC1980 Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Can't wait for pre season in Holland with all these ex Killie players. Will need to be stoned out my head for the Twente Enschede game. Quote

Jupiter Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I really don't see the logic in buying a load of players from a team that finished below us in the league. Robinson not taking long to prove that he is a numpty. Quote

Maybe the load of players we are after, might give us a bit of badly needed character and fight. After the shit we have signed over the past few years, we can't really do much worse with these guys linked with us and I say that hardly knowing a thing about any of them. I'm not overly convinced on Robinson, but lets give the guy a chance to see what he can do and then all the naysayers, like you, can turn around and say I told you so, when he gets punted. Quote

We were looking at Jason Kerr last year and at one point it looked like the deal was close to happening, so I think he's more of a club target than a Robinson one. Quote

I'm pretty sure over the next three and a half months Lutz will target players he knows and who have a more impressive CV, much like he did in January. Of course your ex-Hoffenheim, AC Milan, Bologna, Man City and Bayern Munich players we all signed didn't exactly lift the place. Some players who have proved themselves at Premiership level ain't a bad thing. Hearts' - with their famous Jamestown analytics and boasts they'll be challenging for the title again - have signed one player so far; a winger from St Johnstone. 1 Quote

Club haven't announced it officially but we are supposed to be playing Bochum behind closed doors and Twente Enschede but not in Enschede. That game is I'm led to believe is near Amsterdam and on Saturday 4th July with fans allowed. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 8 minutes ago Report Posted 8 minutes ago I don’t pay a great deal of serious attention to who we sign right now, it will matter at the start of the season. We signed a bunch of light weights and no leaders last time around, we absolutely need a better balance. Once we see the pool of players added, then it’s fair to comment. if Lyons and O’Hara are two, that’s two captains and proven leaders, you can’t argue we need that. And mayo can win headers, that’s something we don’t even have right now. Plus both midfielders have shown they are capable. Certainly adding Watson would be a good complimentary piece. Are either of those the new Jim Bett or Scott Severin, unlikely, but will add to the balance of the squad. for every miller there was a mcleish, rougvie was very different to Kennedy then McKimmie, and cooper and Simpson complimented strachan and weir. time will tell.
