Zdrilic, Fallon, McGarry, Milanovic, Yengi. I'd settle for an average one.

Guess the difference being, he’s actually not antipodean. He’s not saying with the nix, would love us to try him out (whilst getting rid of Yengi, olusanya and Ambrose). Proper crowd pleaser with the effort he puts in and moments of magic. Also, in fairness, I said at the time we should have signed Devlin. Which we should have. Another was Cacace who’s a LB, but he’s been hindered by injury at Wrexham after good spells in Belgium and empoli.

What’s the chances that Congreve could be enticed away from Swansea? He looks decent, 22 and a season in the league under his belt.

The FB Schjønning-Larsen at Killie also looks good on early viewing. 24 so a bit older.

Congreve is contracted at Swansea until 2028 so we would have to pay a fee for him if they were prepared to let him go. Done well enough at Dundee that I would expect there to be competition for him from down south that would price us out anyway.

So what we're saying is, that you have a significantly higher strike rate than our scouting team. I think it's you we should be after.

Wonder what the odds are on us having Mandron playing in red next season.

Was about to post exactly this! Any others? Feel gogic may be a little older than I’d like to see, maybe a 27 yr old gogic….

I'm amazed you haven't suggested St Mirren's Alan Campbell yet!

Said the same while watching the game this afternoon. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see O’Hara rock up to Pittodrie.

Looked up O’Hara and Mandron. Didn’t realize they are on the older side. O’Hara out of contract this summer, 31 in December. Maybe a two year contract but I assume he’d be looking for more? Captain and leader with a familiarity of the league and our manager, I’d say the contract has to be right if we’d consider him.

mandron 32 in October, also looks like he’s out of contract. Another is maybe give 2 years, nothing more.

given Robinson has talked about seasoned pros needed and these two being out of contract, I think there has to be interest.

Robinson has signed O'Hara twice so he's guaranteed to be on the radar. Whether it happens or not probably depends on how much of a say Robinson will have on signings and/or whether Lutz can come up with enough better options.

No offence meant BUT if this is the extent of our signing ambition in the summer window, then mediocrity (at best) well and truly beckons in my opinion

It's not going to be though. I have my doubts about the ability of both players (at this stage in their career at least). However, as the low risk part of wider recruitment, they're probably a good bet. Mandron is already better than Yengi, Ambrose and Olusanya, and O'Hara is better than several of our midfielders. We should be aiming higher, as I think those two are probably getting towards bottom six level, and most certainly sit outwith top four, but given that they would be part of a turnover of nearly an entire first team, it's important to have the safe options. Something we didn't bother with last summer, for reasons. It's a shame that Robinson's Saints players aren't at a higher level, but we just have to accept a bit of pragmatism as a base to build on I think. Every other season we seem to have decided not to bother with a solid base to improve on, instead ripping everything up and redrawing with projects and unproven disasters. Obviously, if Robinson can get proven SPFL players of better quality than those two, then fantastic.

Thoughts on Freckleton as a left sided CB? He’s always looked competent when I’ve watched StM and has pace. Might be another unambitious, safe bet though

I see Stephen Robinson is at Dunfermline v St Johnstone tonight.

Just preparing himself for a potential play-off, or watching any specific players?

Dunfermline have a few youngsters who have caught the eye in recent weeks.

I don’t see it that way. Last few windows we’ve gone for complete unknowns, including guys who haven’t played much mainly due to injury, youngsters with potential, or guys in their early 20s who were good in their late teens but haven’t kicked on. Very few have worked out.

id compare O’Hara and mandron to signing the likes of Nicky Devlin, maybe a mark reynolds, willo flood, even Adam Rooney. Picking up the better players from within the league isn’t a bad thing. Look at graham or Watson, both on poor teams but will be good signings wherever they go.

ohara and mandron would also bring some much needed experience. Throw in some foreign talent this summer too, but it has to be a balanced window, again where we’ve failed, can’t be a bunch of unknowns who have never been to Scotland, never mind Aberdeen.

Hard no from me. Name alone isn’t a footballer, sounds like the neighboring town of camberwick green.
