Kilmarnock v Aberdeen

Another Saturday 3 pm kick-off beckons for the Dons as they travel to deepest, darkest Ayrshire to take on struggling Kilmarnock on the 31st January.

Kilmarnock have Neil McCann at the wheel (at the time of writing) and have only won twice in the league all season. We have beaten them twice already, although we were lucky in both games.

Maybe it's unfounded optimism on my part after today, but I fancy us to cuff them 3-0.

You know you're not getting to bed early enough when you read "deepest, darkest" as "Budapest" and think we're in for a cracking away day

Kilmarnock are proper shite, but then we were very fortunate to take all three points there last time.

There's a chance a new manager could be announced, but Leven still in charge for this one, unless it's made early in the week.

Whoever is in charge, tough run of games after this: Celtic (h), Motherwell (h), Dundee United (a), Motherwell (a). So kinda important we take something up the road.

Worst Killie team in a very very long time. Kinda proof of what a decent manager can do for a team. I actually fancy us to take this one by a fair margin. 2, maybe 3-0. 

We should have Bratveit fully registered for this, and I would expect him to be between the sticks. Would also fancy us to play Clarkson more now that Fancy Pants has been recalled  

Leven will do just fine til we find a full time manager. But he should NOT be the full time manager. This club needs to fork out for experience

It’s either clarkson or Armstrong at present. Cameron starts, and I think shinnie again proved yesterday how important he is to us. As you say, we need to fork out for a legit manager, but that center mid spot to play alongside Cameron and shinnie is massive (and the new signing is really shinnie’s replacement), not just player but captain too perhaps. As I said in the other thread, really needs to be a 25-28/30 yr old leader in there, but replacing club legend shinnie will be very hard.

agree, think we win this. Killie are crumbling and yesterday was a huge boost for us. Don’t see mitov being dropped just yet though. Maybe 3-1…?

I think the Raith game showed that Clarkson and Cameron on the same pitch isn't going to work (unless chasing the game). Cameron regularly drops deep into the area that Clarkson wants to play in, and he doesn't really press from the front. It pretty much nullifies Clarkson's game. It has to be one or the other. I'd have had Aouchiche alongside Shinnie, but Armstrong was good there and Shinnie did the required running. Clarkson to come off the bench when Cameron tires, if he doesn't leave by the end of the window.
