BigAl Posted Thursday at 08:35 Report Posted Thursday at 08:35 And so we reach the stage of the season where our last league game is just a couple of days away. Third place is gone and fourth is by no means certain to be ours. Before a ball was kicked in the summer would we have accepted a semi final, a final and either fourth or fifth place finish. I'd imagine for the bulk of us the answer would have been yes, and whilst I expected ups and downs not sure it would be quite to the extent it has been. One thing is for certain, Jimmy is heading into his third transfer window and it is a crucial one. However, back to the game at Tannadice this Saturday. We really need to get our act together to avoid defeat here and suspect that the Arabs will go for jugular early doors and have the fear that our team doesn't have the backbone to withstand it and we'll be beaten by half time. I have no idea what Thelin can do to get a tune out of what is available to him and to be honest not sure he does either. Thankfully I have a long standing family event on Saturday so won't be there and won't be able to watch it on a stream. This might well prove to be a blessing. 3-0 United Quote
Goldie03 Posted Thursday at 13:13 Report Posted Thursday at 13:13 Is it a Eurovision Party Al I dont expect we will get beaten 3 nil but we most likely will finish in 5th. Felt quite optimistic for Top 6 after the semi and defeat of Hibs but the last week and 1/2 has just been brutal so demoralising and for the first time beginning to wonder about Thelin and I really dont want to go down that road again!! One thing for sure I cannot wait for the season to be over!! 2 Quote

Appreciate that everyone's tastes are different, so if you're having one or attending one, hope you have a brilliant time and have a positive result to help you celebrate. I'm like you, I feel the last three games has been a right kick in the nether region. Not overly doubting Jimmy yet but a massive summer window coming up and think we'll see a fair number heading out and being replaced. Quote
Jute Posted Saturday at 07:36 Report Posted Saturday at 07:36 Hope we do not approach this looking for draw as do not think we have the defence to hold out. 4th at least gives us a safety net in Europe if we screw up in first tie. No idea what team line up will be but don’t think we can afford to rest players for final. Bit shit United cutting allocation. In train then quick beer away end quick beer then train back to capital 1-0 no dons scorer ETA - Fuck Eurovision Quote

Reekie_Red Posted Saturday at 09:09 Report Posted Saturday at 09:09 Goodwin has already stoked the fires by effectively pitching his team as being thr working class heroes coming up against a hugely expensive Dons team. Gotta admit, he's not wrong. The Hibs game gave me optimism, but in actual fact it was a a false dawn. I expected nothing from the old firm games, but didn't expect 10 goals against! But it's the St Mirren game, and the fashion of our defeat in that game that got me. Arabs will be up for this. And if I was a betting man, I would bet for an Arabs win. Bring on the summer clearout! Elgindon Posted Saturday at 10:37 Report Posted Saturday at 10:37 Been frustrating how limp weve been with the aim of getting third/fourth.Not holding out much hope for this one....so well probably thrash them Quote

Maybe they’ll be up for this, maybe we will too in order to get 4th and momentum for the final. They have been shit of late, lost all 4 of the split so far so are in worse form than us. We desperately need a result, so why not? i see an open decent game, 3-2 us nisbet Clarkson and gueye wonder how many of our boys are playing their last league game for us? Quote

I'd keep Mitov, Knoester, Devlin, Clarkson, Alex Jensen, Morris, Topi and Tobers. Maybe Polvara too, at a push. Would like us to bid for Nisbet but think he's beyond our price range. The rest are forgettable, below our required level or are past it Quote

I think polvara goes, he rarely plays and I dont think suits our league. with nisbet, for much of the season he looked unfit and slow. I’d take a new miovski over him as we all would. But for a miovski there’s an Ambrose, with a sokler in between. I’m not a huge nisbet fan but we know what we’re getting. I think he’s in our price range because he’s not that good. Quote

OrlandoDon Posted Saturday at 11:53 Report Posted Saturday at 11:53 Very good start from us but every corner, cross, and long throw I expect them to score Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Saturday at 11:55 Report Posted Saturday at 11:55 Credit to Jensen on the goal, could have easily smashed it but simple cross to okkels. 1 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Saturday at 12:09 Report Posted Saturday at 12:09 Enjoyable game so far. Gueye proving why he’s worth keeping in the squad. He can be pretty good or crap, hit or miss. But he has pace strength skill and can create his own, plus is solid in the air. He’s not been great today, but he makes them think. Quote
