OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 19:55 Report Posted Wednesday at 19:55 2-1 HT. But can’t say it’s undeserved, for 35 mins we were total piss. We give away such shit goals, a big factor in this team. Goal difference -9 now Quote
Slim Posted Wednesday at 19:59 Report Posted Wednesday at 19:59 Mitov needs to get a stronger hand to that. We’re soft as fuck in defence. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 20:03 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:03 I’ll also add, two more goals from crosses. How can we be so bad at that!!!?? Quote

BigAl Posted Wednesday at 20:14 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:14 We came flying out of the blocks and managed to concede in three minutes Quote
redordead Posted Wednesday at 20:14 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:14 Torn apart down the right again. It's not like forest is a youngster. Acres of space Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 20:15 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:15 We really are shite. Another attack wide, shinnie burned, and goal from a cross/cut back. They could hammer us if they want. We start the half well but are so easily cut open. Quote
BigAl Posted Wednesday at 20:15 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:15 Away to watch the Italian football now C'mon Fergie 1 Quote
redordead Posted Wednesday at 20:19 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:19 Amazing. Can't wait for the cup final Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 20:20 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:20 Another cross another goal. Switching off. Painful. It will be more than 4. from the other thread, have we made progress? Defensively and from crosses we are horrendous. Quote
Slim Posted Wednesday at 20:21 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:21 Knoester looking like the ghost of Rubezic, he’s been on his arse for 3 of their goals. Just not aggressive enough. 1 Quote
Kowalski Posted Wednesday at 20:22 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:22 There’s no fight in this team. Cup final could be horrific. Quote
redordead Posted Wednesday at 20:24 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:24 If McKenzie plays well here does he keep hid place for the final? Given how shinnie had been exposed tonight. Quote
OxfordDon Posted Wednesday at 20:30 Report Posted Wednesday at 20:30 If St Mirren win tonight, it remains mathematically possible we could finish the season 6th and miss out on Europe. Didn't see that coming. Quote

Kowalski Posted Wednesday at 21:07 Report Posted Wednesday at 21:07 They must love playing us. Easiest games of the season for them. 2 Quote
redordead Posted Wednesday at 21:12 Report Posted Wednesday at 21:12 Positives: Milne done well in his cameo, shady mo looked in Celtics class. Can't blame mitov for any goals really. Negatives: forgot palaversa was playing. Everything relies on a 40yd ball ( almost always from Clarkson )and three headers and flicks to get up the pitch. Keskinen is pointless, why hasn't he been dropped? Can't hold the ball, can't create. Just head down and fingers crossed. Our best defensive partnership in a while struggled. Skipper was destroyed out wide. All in all is not a pretty picture and I'm really not sure Jimmy can fix it. He's basically got this week to save his job. If it ends in a loss then a spanking in the final he starts next season under serious, serious pressure. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 21:27 Report Posted Wednesday at 21:27 Just saw the game was over, didn’t watch the game that closely as I was working. Not surprised dorrington saw red, booking in the second minute makes it tough for a defender against a team like Celtic. as mentioned, shinnie has certainly lost a step or two. He got exposed a bunch by an aging Forrest. Definitely need a left back this summer, amongst other things. going back to what panda asked (I think), have we improved? We lose a lot of goals, -12 now. That’s is awful. I took pride every year looking at the league and seeing us as one of the few teams with a positive goal difference. Redordead is the first one to question the manager, I still think he’s backed for multiple years but it’s certainly got us all thinking I’m sure. that’s 9-1 against a shit rangers and a Celtic B team, although Celtic B is relative, they would prob finish second in the league. That is not progress. Our defense has gotten worse over the season. dont know if kneuster is to blame, he’s been a plus this season, saw him referenced, but an ongoing issue is stopping the cross. Even the shankland goal in the semi was a result of shit pressure and defending from Morris allowing a ton of time for a cross. first 35 minutes we appeared to have no time or space and you see teams high press us. If it wasn’t for the crowd issue I see us going in 2 or 3 down at half, certainly not scoring. We cannot handle high pressure and belt it long as a result, giving the ball away. You’ve seen that a lot in recent games. Zero possession in midfield and zero passing. No clue how we get a positive result in the cup final. Battered twice this week, why would the final be any different? They looked so good today, but that’s because we were so bad. Fucked the goal difference too a now united have the better goal difference. Can’t lose this weekend, although is there a better euro draw for 4th than 5th? Quote
RicoS321 Posted Wednesday at 21:28 Report Posted Wednesday at 21:28 That was honking. Left early, and I never leave early. Clarkson about the only one trying. There were gaping holes down their right the entire game. It was a disorganised mess for the whole match. We should have been resting Shinnie after the weekend. We certainly shouldn't have been leaving him up against Forrest on his own, with acres to run into. McInnes used to do the same a decade ago with Considine. You need the fullback to be right in his face, but that requires Keskinen to be further back. Shinnie couldn't go out to Forrest, as either the fullback or midfielder would go into the gap, so he was left being run at all night. Seems the manger didn't spot it either. Palaversa can't play second halves anymore. Don't know what that's about. Knoester had his poorest game yet. Dorrington wasn't terrible but the first yellow was a little wild. Milne was good, but shouldn't be on the left. Mitov fine. Quote

It used to be that way too, and I thought we’d got away from that. Crazy to think how we played in the 3-3 cup semi and the 2-2 game pre Xmas. Totally different team now. We lay down twice and crumbled this week, and have done that three times to Celtic this season, correct? Quote

Panda Posted Wednesday at 21:58 Author Report Posted Wednesday at 21:58 50 minutes ago, Kowalski said: They must love playing us. Easiest games of the season for them. Celtic have scored five goals or more against 10 different teams this season. They're too good for Scottish football at the moment. Yes we can play much better than tonight, but they're spanking everyone. We would probably have had more chance tonight had they played their strongest team. Instead they played a side desperate to impress, and for a "reserve" side I think nine of them would be starters for us. 45 minutes ago, redordead said: I'm really not sure Jimmy can fix it. If it ends in a loss then a spanking in the final he starts next season under serious, serious pressure If we beat United then win the cup, the job he has on his hands is still the same. We started the season with arguably a worse squad than last season following the loss of Miovski and Barron. Whether you rated Barron or not, his departure still weakened our midfield, we haven't replaced him, and we certainly haven't found another Miovski yet. People say Thelin has thrown money at the squad, but he's had to because cheap signings were not going to improve us, but it doesn't necessarily mean all the problems would be fixed in one season. He's spent most of that money on the defence. It was poor tonight and at Ibrox, but I think most can see that Tobers-Knoester are an improvement on Rubezic-Molloy. Nilsen's loss is hitting us harder than expected. The other two big money signings - Jensen and Keskinen - I think will eventually do well for us. But we need a left back, a Barron replacement, a McGrath replacement (hopefully Milanovic is it) probably two strikers if Nisbet doesn't stay and an attacking midfielder. Basically half a team. Change the manager if you like. Jump in at the 11th hour and get McInnes, go get Stephen Robinson, fuck it offer Kjell Knutsen the universe. But they'll all need at least another two transfer windows. 1 Quote
