wee toon red Posted Tuesday at 19:55 Report Posted Tuesday at 19:55 New kit coming tmrw by the looks of things. Wise to get it out before the final, although an expensive week for anyone looking to get it or who will have a 10yo jumping up and down with excitement. Quote
Jute Posted Tuesday at 23:22 Report Posted Tuesday at 23:22 Did wonder if we would be getting same template as Bayern. Not sure that looks like a sunset though. Quote

Looks more like a strip stained with seagull shite. Which would be a hilarious from the club if they went for that. Quote
wee toon red Posted Wednesday at 09:02 Author Report Posted Wednesday at 09:02 New away kit. Looks alright but launching it now doesn't really fit with the idea of everyone wearing red to Hampden... Quote

Normally get the away shirt via my AberDNA but not sure this time. It might grow on me however Quote
wee toon red Posted Wednesday at 09:10 Author Report Posted Wednesday at 09:10 Worth pointing out that it's navy rather than black. I think I like it but will wait to see what the home kit is like before deciding which one to get. £70 for an adult and £57 for a kid is someone money for a football strip mind you. 1 Quote

OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 09:32 Report Posted Wednesday at 09:32 Never been a fan of blue kits for us. Why blue???? Quote
Panda Posted Wednesday at 09:43 Report Posted Wednesday at 09:43 I presume this means Texo are renewing their shirt sponsorship. Hadn't read anywhere them agreeing to extend it beyond this season. As for the strip itself, not for me, but at least the club are trying to do something different with their away top rather than a catalogue template. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 11:01 Report Posted Wednesday at 11:01 I can’t get over the blue. Not a fan at all, if it was black and gold maybe, but blue and gold?? this is the away top, right, any idea if there’s a third strip/top? Quote

Nothing's been said about a third kit but I think it's a requirement to have three strips registered for UEFA competitions - plus it's another way of enticing cash out of people's pockets - so you can count on there being one. We've had plenty navy kits in the past, not sure of the reason but it doesn't bother me. Different if it was royal blue mind you! 2 Quote
tlg1903 Posted Wednesday at 11:35 Report Posted Wednesday at 11:35 I think it's quite nice actually, might just get one. 2 Quote

wee toon red Posted Wednesday at 13:23 Author Report Posted Wednesday at 13:23 As a marketer's dream, it took me a whole four hours to go from "looks alright but will wait to see what the home looks like" to "ordered it". 1 Quote
Panda Posted Wednesday at 13:40 Report Posted Wednesday at 13:40 (edited) I don't really buy strips unless they're retro ones or I really, really like them. However, bit annoyed at how regularly we bring out strips in order to continuously milk the fans for money. If you're paying £70 for a shirt - whether for yourself or your kids - the least I expect is that team actually wear it. Am I right in thinking we had an away strip once that we never wore for a single game? Think it was the black & gold number in 2012-13. Likewise, I also expect it to have a lifespan of at least 12 months (it used to be two years, now we're not even getting one year). We brought out the 'wasp' strip in July so that's been replaced already, and the granite strip was September so if we release a third kit in summer that'll be less than a year too. I also wouldn't be surprised if we bring a cup final shirt out now before Hampden, despite the current one being a nod to the 1990 strip, so would make sense we wore it in the final. Agreed, it's shite. But consumerism etc etc. If we don't do it, others will, and then we might not be able to retain our top six status because they'll make billions while we do right by our fans. Personally, I think strips should last a decade. If I was throwing out a perfectly good garment every year, I'd be ashamed. I can get twenty years out of a t-shirt. The one I'm wearing right now, for example. Footballers should be forced to wear a strip until it has big holes in it in my opinion. Adidas can go and fuck themselves. I like the new away kit though, might get it for my daughter. Quote

I don't think grown adults really need to have the latest strip every season. The last one I did buy was the Stephen Glass / Scott Brown era one and it's still in mint condition. However, kids want the latest strip and you don't want little Hans, Eoin and Hicham running about in the old gear while their mates are in the new one. (Says the boy with no kids. I'm just angry on others' behalf). Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Wednesday at 15:57 Report Posted Wednesday at 15:57 Agreed, back to a strip every x years rather than something new every x months! At the same time, given I live abroad, I buy one every year as my ‘season ticket.’ Quote
JessianK Posted Wednesday at 18:44 Report Posted Wednesday at 18:44 As a tight fisted cvnt with no job, I just recently bought the Granite top at 45 quid on sale. Now looking at that price (not the top quality) another 70 quid is quite expensive for some disabled old cvnt. (Would be nice to have some form of cheapskate discount) Will look at renewing my old Original Aberdna membership, as others have stated pity we can not get both tops out at the same time. Quote
Reekie_Red Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Annoying thing is we still can't wear it vs Hearts Quote
