  1. 19 in 95, surely? Certainly according to Wikipedia, anyway; haven't checked Soccerbase and the like. Anyway, no doubt may of those 95 appearances were as a young loon at Crewe. Remember that he would have been competing with the likes of Dean Ashton and Luke Varney for a starting berth at that time, so no shame in such an apparently poor record. Anyway, a better test of his capabilities would surely be his time spent at Falkirk (during which he scored regularly), no?
  2. 75. Rangers fans - FIFA's unanimous choice for Fair Play Award 76. Minute's silence impeccably observed by both sides of Old Firm 77. Ian Durrant: Let's forgive and forget, Simmie 78. New AFC stadium plans get green light 79. Milne - I will write off club's debt
  3. If not injury-prone, would be a good signing, IMHO. 9 goals in 14 games is not a bad return, and he always looked decent against us.
  4. I have just heard from a well-informed chum of mine that Celtic have already contacted AFC about a possible swap involving Riordan and Zander. Don't shoot the messenger: I reckon it's unlikely, but the person I've heard this from is usually absolutely spot-on when it comes to stories about the Tims.
  5. Okay... I've done a bit of basic Photoshopping based on my investigations so far, and I reckon that if we were to suspend our disbelief and imagine that Apex remained as our sponsor for next year (which they won't) then this is how our kit would look. Like I say, everything except the sponsor's logo should be correct. Thoughts?
  6. It looks increasingly like the Varsity shirt is the one which we'll be wearing next season. This additional picture shows that the flash on the left breast (which I couldn't see in earlier pictures) is indeed above the club logo. Not too sure about the cartoony stars, like: it (and the fact it's a rebranded off-the-peg shirt) doesn't exactly scream 'tradition' the way that Redweb wants us to believe. Not that I'm complaining necessarily; I just wish they wouldn't feed us this pretentious horseshit about how much work has gone into the design, heritage etc. Let's just hope we get red shorts and not white ones as per the Rooney pic above.
  7. Saw that about Bodde yesterday, and my reaction was exactly the same as yours. So typical of AFC. Instead of splashing £50k on this guy, we went for Derek Young who - despite exceeding expectations - is nowhere near the class of player we should be looking to sign. I still don't think Gow has done anything to warrant us breaking the bank for him, and I'd genuinely be interested to know why people are so keen for us to risk money on him. Riordan, on the other hand, should be target number 1. The Tims won't hold out for £1m for him, especially, if he starts kicking up a stink. There may be other clubs interested, but fuck it: if you don't ask, you don't get.
  8. It certainly seemed so when I saw it, although the main picture in the teaser doesn't seem to show the white flash on the chest, which should be visible above the club badge if the proportions are correct. I may not have got it right, but I can't see another generic Nike kit which so closely resembles the teaser.
  9. Based on the generic Nike kits available, it could be the Nike Varsity shirt, based on the images on here and on AFC.co.uk. The 'teaser' clearly shows close-ups (smaller pictures to the rght of the main teaser picture) from the Varsity picture I've posted below:
  10. Translation: JustSport have given us an off-the-shelf generic Nike kit which they'll sew the club logo onto. EDIT: Zooming into the picture appears to show it has a round collar. I fucking hate round collars on football shirts.
  11. Of course he plays out on the field. That's totally irrelevant though, because "outfield" does not mean "out on the field" (to use your exact terminology). Thus, you're either arguing a totally irrelevant point, or arguing that "outfield" = "out on the field", neither of which really makes a whole lot of sense.
  12. Not sure whether you're arguing with me or against me, but what you've posted certainly backs up my argument.
  13. Outfield does not mean "out on the field" and this is true of a number of sports, not just football. Just for quick reference from Wikipedia:
  14. Am I? If you show me where I've said that, I'll be mightily fucking impressed. Argue until you're blue in the face if you like, but a goalkeeper is not an outfield player.
  15. A goalkeeper is not an outfield player. A football team is made up of a goalkeeper and ten outfield players. Them's the facts.
  16. Today's EE says that AFC have pulled the plug because of medical concerns, not because of wage demands. Surely an agent wouldn't lie to spin a situtation for one of his clients? That'd be affa out of character for such an upstanding profession.
  17. Shouldn't you have a goalkeeper in there as well?
  18. Sadly - but all too predictably - true.
  19. So he rips the piss out of the club when Ebbe was here by refusing to behave in terms of boozing and fechting when invited over for a trial, and now he rips the piss again by asking for Billy-big-boy wages when he's only ever achieved the square root of fuck all. I can honestly say that I am over the moon that we haven't signed this arrogant wee twat, and feel sorry for the Southend fans who were so delighted at the thought he might be leaving. Still, if that means the £50k can be used towards a player of the standard we should be aiming for, so much the better. That said, I fully expect JC to be back in for him next year when his contract expires.
  20. Fucking Richie Foran. Jesus Christ. As for Lovell, is he not from that neck of the woods originally anyway?
  21. The funniest part of it all is that they then go on to blame the rest of the league for not being competitive enough to allow them to succeed in Europe.
  22. Kennedy has already had two separate knee ligament injuries and an ankle ligament injury. I really, really can't see Miller and Milne rubbing their hands together at the thought of that, rgeardless of how much Willie protests that Calderwood has final say when it comes to our signing targets. Still unsure about Gow. 6 months of playing well for Falkirk and a year on the bench at the Huns isn't enough to get me excited, although I'll gladly eat my words if we get him and he's a success. Some of the stuff he said last year about being impressed by JC but not the city makes me think that agreeing a fee with Rangers may actually be the easy bit when it comes to signing him. Riordan, on the other hand, seems a stand-out in terms of potential transfer targets, and I would be dismayed if nothing was being done behind the scenes about this. He's not done enough to warrant a move down south, and he won't go back to Hibs. Nor would he sign for Der Hun or Der Baby Hun. I doubt Motherwell and Utd could compete in terms of paying a fee or putting together a salary package, so I reckon we'd be mad not to step in if we have even a couple of hundred grand to blow. If nothing else, his age means that it would almost certainly be an investment which would pay dividends.
  23. Stuart Duff? Darren Mackie? Unfortunately, the type of player who will be able to take us up a notch is unlikely to be an Aberdeen fan.
  24. Yup. Good SPL player who obviously hasn't been inundated with the kind of offers his pimp agent seemed to think he would be capable of attracting. Was never going to be up to the demands of a top Championship side.
