  1. Really need to rise but today's Capitalism means that unless there's money in it drug companies are not go to do what's best for us...in fact , they are going to employ dirty trucks to protect their market share. I am not anticapitalist but we need a new model...and soon...standards have fallen and the system works against the many far too often.
  2. Oot Sofa BT Sports A wee walk to keep me fit - Seat on Park probably (dinna !) Killie 1 - 2 Aberdeen Off topic! Seen this een?

    Empire

Cannot imagine any production surpassing Breaking Bad...and Better Call Saul is pretty good too. I guess the appeal of Empire is that the cast is predominantly black(altho' I don't know about the directors/producers). Makes a change from all these white devils.
  4. Aye , Hayes , Robson , McGinn or Logan. Logan is so commited with a great sense of humour , I love to see him perform , Johnny too , McGinn when in phase. We are blessed with a good number of entertainers just now , makes the experience so much better. Must gave something to do with McInnes/Docherty...we need to maintain this state.
  5. Nae complaints fae me...better some noise than no noise. Thought there was a bit of call and response between the RDS Upper and the South Stand. And the drumming was effective without being aggravating...although I'm in the Main Stand and perhaps mercifully removed from the immediate din. I always think our noise is temperature related , our stadium can be cold which inhibits the desire to be demonstrative. Of course , drink helps , but I think more people are drinking more sensibly today. The warmer weather makes us more exhibitionistic.
  6. Fuckin' lack of self-discipline , should be setting an example. Tub o' lard !

Watched first episode yesterday , manc_don...described as the 'black Dynasty'...at first I thought I'd pull out , just more of the same American garbage only black...but it got a hud. Away to watch episode 2. Deals with homophobia amongst blacks who may be more intolerant about it than we. (Pity fowk cannae just live and let live without insisting that others conform to their way if the World). World wid be a better , safer place if they did. Have you tried Show/Movie Box? http://androidforpc.biz/download-the-app-on-android-show-box/
  10. A lot of what I might add to this thread is culled from this book , a good read. http://tinyurl.com/mgl64jm Cancer has been around for thousands of years , fossils have been found with holes where tumours used to be. The book suggests that cancer may be the original and first nasty disease to afflict mankind. Largely age-related , it is very dominant today now that we are all living longer...people used to die before cancer got a chance to kick in. There appear to be a cocktail of reasons for today's epidemic(1 in 2 forecast for the future , I remember when it was 1in 20) , the main one being genetic(my tumour suppressing gene is switched off) but modern lifestyles probably encourage cancer making it easier to spread...what we eat or don't eat , flame retardants , a variety of chemicals once deemed safe. And...once diagnosed I stopped drinking alcohol within two weeks and gave been off now for almost a year. Near sure it has assisted in my recovery. They now say bowel cancer and more than your daily allowance can aggravate/promote cancer.
  11. Thank you both for your kind words. A lot to respond too - great to see your appetite for knowledge has not diminished , rs...arguably , the more we know , the better life gets. This time last year I never knew I had cancer of the ass , but I knew something wisnae right...too many trips to the lavvy. If you have diarrhea for more than three days - be alert , more than three weeks - see your doctor. I had a tumour where you widnae wish it on a Rangers supporter! Bowels = small intestine , large intestine(ascending , transverse and descending colon) , rectum and anus. My tumour was located in my rectum , the little bastard! Surgically removed now , not without a little discomfort but gie near pain free. Chemotherapy required along with radiotherapy before surgery and chemo after surgery to eliminate any remaining cancer cells. Bowel cancer we generally recover from these days , treatments , altho' brutal , have improved. Will get back tae ye's...battery on wye oot...unlike me !

  13. ...tae be retired! Was gonnae go to the Belmont to see 'When We Were Young' but it's a shame to waste all that sunshine. Think I'll just pull oot the sunlounger and sleep in the gairden. That chemotherapy disnae half tak it oot o' ye! Only one week of it to go.

I'm the oldest! But I've a long way to go to be THE oldest on the Planet. 48 years , in fact! I'm jist a young thing. It's Fred Nietzsche(1844 - 1900)...the boy fa proclaimed 'God is deid!'...altho' he was far from being the first. People since they started to think about such things have never believed...the rest were indoctrinated ! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Nietzsche
  16. Much better than Saturday's effort and beaucoups of entertaining episodes. Shay got MOTM but my offspring reckoned it should have gone to Barry. Good going crowd for mid-week with some excellent vocals and drumming coming from the beach end. Satisfaction and a good night's work. Kilmarnock away , midday Sunday(BT Sports) then DU at hame (18th). Smokin'....!

  19. 'A bad day at the office' , try as they might , nothing seemed to go right. Johnny a little bit off the pace but good to have him back. Gappy to see Shankland start but would have preferred to see Pawlett and McGinn start too , Willow should have been on the bench. Logan got MOTM but nobody stood out and it might gave been anyone. Thistle arguably won on points , confirmed by Willie Miller on Sportsound. Hoping for better on Wednesday.

    'Sketchland'

'Sketchland' , 10.30pm , BBC2 , tonite. Comedy sketches about the highs and lows of leaving the family home. Might be shite! Might be funny! Time will tell.
  22. Aye Al...once diagnosed I decided avoiding alcohol might aid recovery. Hivnae had a glass of red...or any other since May 10th , 2014...coming up for a year , which is my target. Mixed opinion over whether alcohol contributes to ass cancer , some doctors say 'nothing to do with it' , others more cautious say ' follow our guidelines - one of two glasses only' - trouble is , one or two are unlikely to get us intoxicated and I didnae jist drink for the flavour ! I having been drinking for 50 years and curiously hivnae really missed it...maybe due to my condition. Lost three stones too , aboot 12 Kilo...need a new wardrobe.

Can relate to 'Still Alice' wi' he wife being in care wi' Alzheimer's noo - early onset like Alice. Touching , moving and realistic account if the gradual deterioration that occurs. Maybe not one for the young and hopefully there will be a remedy by the time you young guys reach 50+(early) ; 75+(average); 85+(1 in 2). Julianne Moore(Alice)'s Mum was Scottish and she us proud of her heritage. Her mother, Anne (née Love; 1940–2009), was a psychologist and social worker from Greenock, Scotland, who emigrated to the United States as a child in 1950. http://tinyurl.com/ojq2ra2
