There were plenty of EDL knocking about Shoreditch on Saturday. A pub I always suspected as being BNP (British Lion...) had a number of them in there with St Georges flags drapped in the windows. As funny as find it that their bus got attacked, it plays into their hands.

Good god, that was embarrassing! My housemate told me that they'd replaced someone, I'd no idea that it was Otis. I used to rate him as a presenter years ago, but he royally fucked up the live show there!

I still disagree Tom, the games I've been to where there has been a display, everyone seemed to be more up for it (which probably helps). I certainly felt pride in seeing what our club was capable of, if only for one day. Yeah, sure, the football invariably let us down as it usually does and that certainly contributes vastly to a shite atmosphere. But it was nice to see and maybe for those first 10 minutes, it added something. When i've been to Pittodrie since they were halted from doing the displays, I can't say the atmosphere has been anywhere near as good. I'd rather have 5-10 minutes of extra atmosphere than nothing. Just my opinion and experience on the matter. I don't disagree with your singing stand though, but the club will never allow this. The merkland would have been ideal for it, but as ever the club didn't have the will power/forsight to agree to it.

Of course people know us for that, but we're not talking about that are we. I was highlighting that people that I have spoken to from various parts of the world have actually referred to the displays we used to have at Pittodrie. Even in random places like Bosnia. I was not referring to why we were famous.

I concur with your first post. The live and highlights programmes have been a joke. Don't even get me started on the presenter (T4 wanker). It's been ridiculous, I hope they never get to do sports other than horse racing again. Why would you want to join a short race, i.e. the 400m relay 1/2 way through?!? Where's the excitement in that?

Probably at most games yes, but for big games, such as those that Aberdeen_Ladette describes, it made a huge difference. People all around the world saw it and knew us for them. Nothing like that seems to happen anymore.

As others have said, I was genuinely excited by his signing and thought he'd be the best striker since shearer. Wasn't to be sadly due to injuries, but wish him well in his career after football.
