  1. Let the entire event pass without an iota of concern for the outcome. That's my strategy. However, if pushed I'd possibly take the bloody minded attitude that a UTD win will boost their confidence and that equals bad for us. I don't want to discuss what that means for who wins
  2. I'm reasonably confident. All the other teams in the top 7-8 have harder run ins than us and play each other quite a bit. I am certain UTD willl take at least a point from Hearts at Tynecastle, they have nailed them the last two games scoring four goals, not to mention their 4 against us there. Think Falkirk and Hearts will draw next week putting us in a good position if we can get the 3 points against St Mirren. Then if Hearts and UTD draw and Falkirk win and we beat ICT then we can beat Falkirk to secure top 6. Key game for us is ICT. Confident.
  3. Lets be honest. The SPL will clutch at any straw to ensure they don't have to face the embarrassment of readjusting points. If Gretna make it to the split I'm certain they will consider it parity, just because they can.
  4. If they make it to the split everyone will have played them 3 times and so it would be considered back to a level playing field I think. No adjustments required ?
  5. AS much as I hate UTD what have been the last two results at Tynecastle when they have come calling again ?
  6. Irish consortium lead by the Carlisle manager now looking to rescue them. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/7295175.stm Think again fool.
  7. Not sure its quite as simple as saying that because previous clubs have been treated differently then Gretna should have to follow the same rules. These rules that force small clubs to meet what is quite a tough standard in order to enter our top league are generally perceived as out of line with common sense and the SPL are under a lot of pressure to change them. Its difficult to then say that if they are set up as the rules at one point then for the rest of time they must be adhered to. Also think that teams who 'buy their way' to success are looked upon in some shady light but at the end of the day why shouldn't they be able to do it, it's their risk ? If you go setting 'rules' to stop clubs from structuring their finances a certain way as well as their stadiums then where does the discipline stop ? Who decides what these financial rules are. If football goes down the road of barriers to entry based on rich benifactors bank rolling clubs then welcome to a Scottish football league with about half a dozen clubs in its top 2 leagues ? A large number of football clubs are only viable due to the financial support of an individual or collection of. Gretna have been guilty of over cooking the thing by some impressive amount. I am not saying I feel sorry for Gretna or that I applaud how they have gone about things, just think we need to step back a bit and think. If anyone deserves the finger being pointed its Mileson. What a clown that man has been to take the club where it is knowing full well the withdrawal of his support would only leave the club and the SPL in one place. Utter moron playing boyish games where peoples lives are affected. Must be time for the Lithuanian State Circus to roll into town again for some top notch entertainment
  8. Is anyone else worrying about this game ? Its exactly the sort of game our big-shot stars will stroll into thinking its a done deal and they will meet with a team of players looking to teach the world a lesson. We better show no mercy. As an aside, I noticed in the paper today Paul Lambert is opening a 'Celtic section' at Wycombe for their game against Chester to try and entice English-based tims to support the club. Maybe Hibs and Motherwell could get a section for Gretna home games to preserve their 9 points
  9. Story on BBC site now about SPL bosses 'rallying' to support Gretna. Some cock and bull about families and mortgages, its oh so sincere . How long before we get the huns coming out in support of their 3 point lead...er....I mean the families of the players and then Motherwell offering support by keeping their 9 points...er...I mean waving the ground share costs.......aren't sanctimony and self preservation such beautiful bed fellows.
  10. The administrators or Gretna cannot decide to postpone this fixture. Only the SPL. If they can't show up then they are fucked. No second chances. Cancel all points and let the race for 3rd commence in ernest......YYAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS.
  11. My thoughts exactly. Send the fucking clown onto Dragons Den, let Duncan Ballantyne tell the fucker why his idea isn't gonna wash its own face. Are these people mental ?...I'm out.
  12. If you owed somebody £100 and they had just been hit by a bus and expected not to make it through the night would you be busy transferring the cash into their account ? The key question for the SPL is whether its better to pour good money into a hole or to avoid the utter shambles of readjusting peoples points tally and facing the wrath of teams like Hibs and Motherwell who will really suffer from this move. Personally I think they will try to ensure that Gretna fulfill their fixtures to the split and then decree that everyone has had a fair crack at them and they can now crawl into a hole and die.
  13. From what I can see the teams above us in the league would lose the following: Motherwell - 3 wins 9 points UTD - 1 win 3 points Hibs - 3 wins 9 points Falkirk - 2 wins 6 points Hearts - 1 win, 2 draws 5 points We have 1 win, 1 draw 4 points. Although I think the SPL will bail them out to avoid a points readjustment this scenario wouldn't be a disaster for us. Maybe Motherwell and Hibs will lend them the money Gaining 5 points on Motherwell and Hibs would be nice, although dropping one behind UTD not so good. Mid table would be: 3 Dundee Utd 42 4 Motherwell 37 5 Hibernian 32 6 Falkirk 31 7 Hearts 31 8 Aberdeen 30
  14. C'mon dude, I'm on the edge of mine. What did you give them ?
  15. More annoying is that UTD got tossed by them twice and so would benefit more from the removal of results.
  16. Still a little pricey for two spikes of metal, a broken LCD screen, cunting coppers and the smell of unwashed shell suits.
  17. Lets not get too cocky here. This is the sort of expectation that sees us caught with our pants round our ankles. Hopefully we will see a limp Gretna side who are out on their feet with all the doom and gloom rather than a 'fuck you all' Gretna who want to hit out at everyone for their misfortune.
  18. Those figures would only suggest that a player is worth their 'net worth'. In the way that a business has a base net worth on the basis of its real wealth. However, if you sell your business it has other value based on goodwill accrued or brand power etc. These intangibles add value and cannot be discarded for a business, product or a football player.
  19. I'd suggest it is almost a definite that he has been. I'd also say he should be offered a pay cut. Over the piece he has had what could only be termed as an 'acceptable' performance this season and he has been over-paid by SPL standards for this performance. Simple equation is reduced wage in the future. Now if he was banging in 15-20 goals I'd argue differently. He will be getting paid quite a bit more than Hunt (possibly not?), Fletcher, Clarkson, Nish, Porter, McCormick etc and they are all performing ahead of him. I'd like to know on what grounds he might be feeling hard done by.
  20. Seve will be sitting at home thinking 'cool, I put some bullish quotes in a newspaper article...slippers on for Sunday then, job done.' Can we lay off McGeady, he is my wife's cousin
  21. I fucking detest the way you can feel the smile on McNee's fat fucking face poking through when you read that article. His pleasure seeps from every line. If any 'neutral' journalist had written what is painfully obvious for all to see I would agree wholeheartedly....in this instance, I feel too much rage and a need for uber-violence to think anything else.
  22. No more.
  23. I was on live chat in afc chat for about 15 minutes today to try and get a laugh given that we were already 1-0 down. It was so bad in there I had to leave after almost no engagement. The panic and venom that was being spewed was quite incredible. Its like people have just woken up from some European field of daisies and clover and realised they are ball deep in shit and hadn't noticed. We have been shocking for most of this season and if you take out half a dozen performances we would be staring at another one of our horror seasons of recent times. You have to laugh though, we are fucking great and we are moving forward as a team
  24. Maybe not in one game but 19 goals against in our last 5 games might put a slight amount of pressure to try something different. Soutar did very little wrong in the first few games of the season.
