  1. @manc_don - See the betting thread in football chat, free money at half-time from the bookies. 2/1 for Alcorcon to win at -2 goals when they were 3-0 up. Crazy. The Real team playing tonight - Dudek, Arbeloa, Metzelder, Albiol, Drenthe, Diarra, Guti; Granero, Van Der Vaart; Raul, Benzema Pellegrini to be sacked shortly, Zidane will be manager there I think. Unless they go for Scolari or Mourinho? This Alcorcon are in the third tier of Spanish football.
  2. @minijc - Alcorcon winning 4-0 now.
  3. @minijc - Real Madrid losing 3-0 at half time, bookies are still offering odds of over 2/1 for Alcorcon to win at -2 goals.
  4. @everyone - Dundee are available at 6/1 to beat Rangers at home this evening. Sold out, and Rangers are playing a second string team.
  5. @minijc - Sigma played the last half hour with 10 men but held on for a 2-1 win. At 1-0 I managed to place money at 15/8 for Sigma to win. You probably think I made all this up though.
  6. @minijc - Sigma have just scored a second goal with 30 minutes on the clock. Slavia have just scored to make it 2-1.
  7. @minijc - Sigma Olomouc are currently 1-0 up away at Slavia Prague. You can still get odds of around 2/1 for them to hold on to their lead with 25 minutes gone. Although the game's probably finished and I'm making all this up.
  8. @Ajja - My post was regarding the feelings of many fans and the frustrations they have at the moment. I'm of the belief that Aberdeen may have to take one step backwards to make two forward although I do have reservations about McGhee. I am a realist and do not expect McGhee to instantly take the club to cup wins and the like but I've no doubt in my mind that many fans see what's happened thus far as a sign that the solidity Aberdeen had gained under Calderwood as slowly disappearing. The only inspiring aspect so far for me has been the introduction of the young players as that's a sign the club has a future based on a youth academy, we as fans just have to hope that the players don't burn out or leave early in their careers to chase the higher wage they could make in the lower leagues in England. I also applaud McGhee for trying to play football his way although I think it smacks of ignorance and stupidity when he admits in the media that he doesn't have the players to play his formation yet he still insists on playing it. That does nothing to get the fanbase on your side.
  9. @Ajja - Excellent post Sir, however I believe that another problem stems from the fact that many fans believed we were stagnating under Calderwood and that Aberdeen needed another manager to take us forward. Calderwood had solidified the team but appeared to hit a wall [peaking in the Euro run] and taking Aberdeen to the next level of cup finals and third place finishes, whilst playing football reminiscent to Arsenal's Carling Cup sides, was beyond him. Many would have you believe that McGhee was the man to step in and do this but he appears to have taken Aberdeen back a level in his short spell thus far - chasing players he never had a hope of signing, playing formations not suited to the players at his disposal, they're not scoring goals, and the football's been uninspiring bar the young players that have cemented their place.
  10. @Reekie_Red - You would be wrong then, the Bridge Street entrance is second only to the main entrance on Union Street.
  11. @MarkyMark - Surely that's the case with all the drivers, Hamilton was nowhere this year in a poorer car than the previous year.
  12. @minijc - It's funny you should say that as that's exactly what I had. Do you seriously think I am making up bets? I win and lose as everyone who bets does, I just don't see the point in posting losing bets. Luckily I've won more this season than I've lost, live betting is great if you know how to use it. Here's what I had on; Hamburg to win outright, £5 at 13/10 paid £11.50 Hamburg to to win at -1 (4/1), lose £2.50 Sporting Lisbon to win at -1 (6/4), lose £4.00 Valencia & Sparta Prague under 2.5 goals, £5 at 4/5 paid £9.00 Although I made all these up.
  13. @minijc - I'll wait until the second round of games are finished tonight before I tell you which games I had bets on.
  14. @minijc - You'll probably be upset that I took Benfica to win at -4 in live betting. They're now up 5-0. 22/10/2009 £5.00 To Win - Single Internet 1 Benfica v Everton Benfica (-4.0) 7/5 Pending £5.00 To Win - Single Internet 1 Shakhtar Donetsk v Toulouse Shakhtar Donetsk (-1.0) 6/5 Pending £5.00 To Win - Single Internet 1 Benfica v Everton Benfica (-1.0) 12/5
  15. @minijc - I have no idea what any of that means?
  16. @BobbyBiscuit - £5 each on both Shakhtar (6/5) and Benfica (12/5) to start at -1, both sides winning 4-0 against Toulouse and Everton respectively with half an hour to go.
  17. @minijc - I don't really think this piece will have any bearing on Fraser Fyvie's career, no matter how it turns out.
  18. @Sperstar_Tradesman - Thanks, those videos were great.
  19. @dave_min - One of the busiest entrances for the Trinity Centre is positioned on Bridge Street, just up from McCall's. There are two bus stops that drop a large number of people directly across from this entrance.
  20. @BobbyBiscuit - Being paid £82.75 to watch Unirea spank the filth was an added bonus.
  21. @tom_widdows - This was a fantastic night for football.
