  1. The reason I was talking about hearts not being important was an idealistic point based on the much longer term and on Scottish culture generally as much as on Scottish footie. Just as Aberdeen have the north EAST, as examples, QoS have the south of Scotland, Inverness the north west, Morton the west towards the islands, St Johnstone the central highland and Killie have Ayrshire. All these are areas that their teams being big and successful would potentially, in a generation or two, curb the sad OF cancer's spread throughout the country and make Scottish football and Scotland itself look less of a joke. In my view the fan base of the OF being so high is the biggest problem, and hearts finishing somewhere from 3rd to 9th doesn't change that, especially given the mini-hun persona they have. If hearts went bust or fucked off to lower league and what we had instead was a geographical spread of 'big' teams, it would be much more beneficial to the SPL than a second Edinburgh team who are currently battling with Hamilton for 6th place in the central belt. Hearts being successful is maybe important also (though I personally don't believe it), but much much less so. And over all the arguments that justify hearts' position as a 'successful' team already are spurious at best. They've been gash more often than good, no matter what they like to pretend. ps. mad purple leaky fannies lolz
  2. But you're an aberdeen fan so we might actually give a fuck in that case.
  3. we need some new hilarity coming out of swinecastle to get this thread back on track. any minute now...
  4. If I don't kill myself because of my own dissertation then I'll be glad to fill one out in a bit.
  5. A sad loss for the club I'd say. Someone who only showed up because it was a freebie and now won't go back because they're either £20 out of pocket or just too impatient to wait. Oh how we need more of this spirit and loyalty!
  6. I don't think many people who are saying hearts can fuck off would disagree with that. Yes we need strong teams but do we need a jumped up bunch of hun wannabes to be that team? I don't think we do at all. A strong Inverness, Falkirk, Dunfermline, QoS, St Johnstone, Motherwell, Killie...Patrick Thistle. Brilliant. Who needs the wet purple shites and when have they ever been strong anyway (apart from the half season Burley had them)? Bunch of nobodies with an over-inflated opinion of themselves.
  7. To be fair to the guy with a hardon for planes, 'A needs B' indicates that A won't survive without B. Not only would the SPL survive the loss of those manky bastards, we'd be slightly less of a mickey mouse set up.
  8. Probably been true in 3/4 of the games he's played including the end of last season. If we had 10 outfield players with his effort and work rate we'd have nothing to complain about.
  9. Bad start to December but we've got Hamilton home, Hibs home, St crystal meth away and Falkirk home. 12 points should be achievable there and then things are looking rosey heading to Arabia to smash some tangerine cunts in. monireds!
  10. Reading the BBC red buttony thing makes it seem like McGhee's using Ifil as a scapegoat. Was a daft challenge but saying he spoiled our chances of getting back into the game is a bit rich considering with 11 our chances looked no better. Says he may have cost himself his place in the team but that's pretty harsh considering his over all performance this season and the fact that everyone in red was cheesy cock mess yesterday also. Maybe he's thinking since Ifil is suspended anyway he'll take the spotlight off the lads who could play next week and hope their heads don't drop, give Zander a couple of starts wi consi and then bring back the beast. Hope so because it would be shit if Mcghee just starts trying to deflect criticism. Tactics were pish and players were pish. end of.
  11. I'd say yes because Pawlett is fragile and his fitness is a bit on the 'Andy Murray for the first 2 seasons' side. He's great for an hour or so but then loses puff. Aluko I'm not convinced will be at the club for long though I hope I'm wrong and similarly I'm not convinced Paton is going to sign a new deal. Even if he is it might be good to at least talk about our ability to find replacements now so that his agent doesn't think he's holding the club to ransom.
  12. good first day back in training tho! He should lay off the sherbert.
  13. Mulgrew rejecting two contract offers to me hints that the club aren't able to do any more to keep him and the player is probably off to pastures new. If so then in a way I hope he goes in jan so we don't have the same bullshit saga as wi seve last year. This is a transitional season after all. Mulgrew is such a key componant that if we have him til summer it means yet more transition next year.

    Editing

Is anyone else having problems with the board changing layout of text in ways you haven't told it to? I just had to delete a post because no matter what I did it was putting chunks of text in bold that I hadn't highlighted and it wouldn't change when I modified it. After several attempts it finally removed all the spaces between paragraphs and put the whole thing in bold! I've had problems like that before here too.
  16. similar to what i said in the original post but with the difference that i was trying to be less of a buzzkill. We had no centre backs and 1 centre mid so of course they had chances but to say boyd would score those 9 times out of ten is more inaccurate than me saying we passed them off the park. Against a diddy team he probably would score 2 or three out of ten times but against top 6 he's lucky if he's averaging 1 in ten games, never mind shots. Was an incredible performance from a thouroughly depleted team...McGhee must go!
  17. The stats and the highlights don't show the fact that with that majority possession we passed the hun fucks off the park. When it became clear rangers were never going to score we took the foot off the gas but generally we were much the better team. Timland is a different kettle of fish though. And it sounds very like we have no fit centre backs.
  18. personally i'd go with either a midfield of aluko young macd pawlett with miller paton up front or five in mid with miller up front on his own, young and macd sitting and the other three getting forward in support. either way i'd keep fyvie as a little bit of magic on the bench to have an impact late on. Mcghee has said it would be out of order not to start young so unless aluko's fitness isn't up to it I'd guess fyvie will need to bide his time.
  19. not another lower league team ffs! potential banana skin.
  20. Imagine the buzz if we win this one too! I'm betting Mcghee will be getting them as fired up for this as they were on sat because it all comes to nothing if we lose and find ourselves stuck in 6th place. Celtic don't worry me as they are gash but from listening to the post match press con it sounds like we might not have any centre backs by the weekend still. Only thing that worries me then is that the timmery is a wider pitch so a makeshift backline could have more problems. I really can't pick a winner though. I think a lot depends on whether the players are riding the crest of a wave at the mo and can keep some momentum up. moniredsgitfuckinintaeum!!!
  21. Richard Gough fiddling with some hairless balls, there's a shock!
