Depresses the fuck out of me that everyone we sign nowadays falls into 2 categories:

- Players like Maybury and Miller who exhaust every other possible anevue then eventually sign for us as a last resort cos they canna get gig anywhere else

-Players like Bakens who is about last on our wish list of signings but since no other cunt wants to join us, he'll have to do. Got to fill them jerseys some how.

Wish we could just identify a good player, go for him and he signs without any hoo ha. 

Much rather see us go for this guy than some crock who canna get a game for Darlington. Thompson is a proven goal scorer at a level probably similar to the Scottish 1st Div. Opportunity missed if we go for Wright over Thompson I reckon.

Rumour doing the rounds that Touzani will leave the club today for Sparta Rotterdam.

Very baffling if true. We should be adding to the squad but instead it looks like Kerr in, Touzani out. Always liked the look of him, composed on the ball and hard in the tackle. Could have been superb if played consistently in a holding role or at sweeper. Never got the fucking chance to prove it though.

Making all the right sounds about youth development but there is no point pouring all this cash in and then taking in shite like Bus and releasing a batch of 6 or 7 youngsters every summer. I fear with Calderwood in charge we will never reap the same rewards of devloping talent and selling them on for a massive profit a la Hibs. 23 games last season. A lot lower than it would normally due to being out of Scotland until last November. Had a half season ticket when I got back and have returned to full status this summer. Most pissed off at having missed Dnipro and Munich away while being to Madrid.

Two more recent goals spring to mind;

Seve last day of the season with the half volley from 20 yards that left McGregor with no chance  or

the very similar winner he scored versus Hibs in a midweek game in the pouring rain.

Both cracking strikes! Stewarts against the Tims at Parkhead was a very good goal also, great technique and execution.

Compare:

•Dundee United sign Danny Grainger and Paul Dixon who are both young, naturally left footed full backs who will provide great balance and competition for places down the left of their defence. Both deals are concluded for peanuts. Given Leveins record at unearthing good talent in the lower leagues, I would expect both players to go on and contribute to the team.

•Aberdeen have no recognised left back. We have Ricky Foster who is right footed and has been converted from striker to midfielder to defender during his short career cos truth be told young Ricky is not good enough to hold down any 1 position in an SPL team. Left back cos no other kunt wants to play there.

JC basically says in the P&J this morning that this guy is pretty far down his list of potential signings but is becoming more of a possibility as time goes on!!

Have they learned nothing from last season? We missed out on Europe cos our defence was fucking shite. A good centre back is our priority signing this summer, we're being short changed with some fucking Dutch gimp again............PISH!

Think ICT will struggle big time this, in a few weeks they will only have 1 striker on their books. 5/1 to looks decent.

Just read this and wondered if we should try something similar. Would help to cut costs and by squeezing fans together and less empty spaces, the atmosphere may improve.

Not sure which area we could close cos most usually have a smattering of fans. How about closing the upper deck and forcing the fans there into either the Merkland or South? Open it up for the big games?
