  1. He's done brilliantly and nobody can really argue that he didn't earn a chance.

Five games to go though against the top sides mean I'd rather the club had waited.

What happens if we get five pastings?

Does this mean that attacking football is binned next season for pragmatism? ( Not that we've seen much attacking this year )

Or do we expect Barry to entertain?

His best position is the one he's currently playing in, wing back as part of a 3/5, he can also play right back too. At best, he's a stop gap for centre mid and centre back, you definitely wouldn't want him playing either for long spells. £2M would be an absolutely fantastic bit of business. We will very much miss his athleticism and ability to run with the ball to get us up the park, but his decision making is poor (he was very lucky to get a free kick at one point yesterday when he turned into trouble instead of just keeping going, and that sort of thing happens quite regularly) and is passing is week. I think he's maybe had a couple of assists all season, and it's rare for his final ball to cause difficulties for the opposition. That said, it's a terrible time to be losing him. We've got such a huge turnover of staff this summer, we're already on a hiding to nothing in terms of recruitment, so a known SPFL quantity is of massive benefit.

Barron is an interesting one too, it looks like offers are beginning to come in for him. I think he's a great player, who'll go on to have a good career, but I also think he could massively benefit from another year here, especially with Clarkson moving on and leaving that number 6 role as Barron's to lose. Ryan Duncan barely featured prior to signing his new contract, and has featured heavily since, and Barron has hardly kicked a ball since not agreeing a new deal. I wonder if this is a new hard line that the club is taking with young players? I'm not sure I agree with it, and I'd love to see Barron spend his final year here and kick on as I think that would be hugely beneficial for the team.

Absolutely on the money for me. All these fans insulted at £2m must be watching someone else.

Also disappointed Barron hasn't had more chance to play. Future international for me.

  3. Back 5 outstanding last minute defending again.  Took it to them second half. Had a couple of scares but thought we generally looked most likely.

Lucky or good, Baz has exceeded his remit. I think the board will still hang on until the end of the season but hard to argue against him now.

It's maybe not pretty but nobody can deny the change in effort and commitment to his cause from the squad.

Biggest plus though.. hearts will be fucking gutted 😁

  4. As I said last week. I think we've rode out luck a bit in recent weeks.  Hopefully the last ditch tackles and saves can continue but I've got a lurking feeling that our lack of quality might well bite us as we spend the game on the 18yd line.

That said if we break away and duk does duk stuff. We might scrape another victory.

Hard to call 1-0 us or a doing, It's one of those.

  5. I was just reading another article about miovski and Duk and proposed value.

Now I'm maybe being harsh because I've never rated the guy but miovski to me is little more than competent.

He's no better than Watkins really. Rarely scores from open play and his hold up is poor ( although looks to be improving since Jim left )

I'd take Cosgrove back in a heartbeat to replace him

Duk however will be a club legend and I don't expect him to be here next year. Provided the right money comes in.  It just bugs me how miovski is being talked up. Clearly Dave after another sale.

I can't be the only one?

Robson’s style is hard work, passion, and defend for your lives. A short term plan to get us out of trouble and get us up the table. But that can only take you so far, impossible to play that way for an entire season. I don’t know if Robson has the ability for more or if he’s a quick short term fix. Throw in around 5-10 new signings and it’s a whole new season and whole new squad. That’s where his track record/inexperience kicks in, we have no clue, much like goodwin and glass, what he’s capable of long term.

Absolutely agree. He's done fantastically but sometimes it's better to be lucky than good and in the last three weeks we've scraped results by the leather of Kelle's gloves.

That doesn't work long term. However he did say after the game that we can be more expansive and play football too. Then stressed that for now we need to work, run and grab points.

I think that unless we have a disaster post split he has to get the gig but like you I think that still have a big call to make.

It's also given him a great addition to the CV whatever happens

  7. We've been rotten. Thank God for Duk.

Concerning over the last three games how many last ditch tackles and saves we've needed . ( Fair play to the boys at the back because we'd have been three down under Goodwin)

Feel like Duk's run of form is papering over some cracks and we might get spanked when the currant buns turn up.

Here's hoping for a more convincing second half.

  8. He did take a shite Liverpool from years of mediocrity to within a whiff of the title surrounded by bigger spending clubs at the time.

He's won silverware at Leicester who surely don't have the third biggest budget in England. By comparison our gig is a walk in the park.

That said. If we were paying him our budget wouldn't be much 😂

    Why?
so he could stick around for a half a season until a lower level English premiership or championship team with Murodoch's tv cash sacks their manager and he jumps ship?

    Ocht tam, such a cynic.

Can you imagine the fitba, doing angeball better than Ange. No manager lasts forever but a treble treble would be nice before he went.

  10. Good three points. Rotten game to watch. Devoid of cutting edge against ten men.

Hayes, rama and both centre halves really the only players that turned up today.

Felt watkins probably deserved more time as bojan again offered very little threat. McGowan did a good job on Duk to be fair.

I know the new manager bounce can be a thing but it didnt happen under Goodwin or Glass. Tend to think we are doing better though because Robson has abandoned the bogus strategy in the first place. Looks like we are still playing good enough football but now we are getting results.

Our pass completion rate versus hearts was in the low 50s. It's far from flowing football. However I'll concede that we also seem more competitive.

As a decent striker into the mix and I'm not unhappy with the set up

  12. Our pass completion % is still horrible but the improvement in work rate is getting results.

Fair play to Robson. I didn't have much faith in him but himself and Agnew have turned around a squad of bottlers in jig time.

He probably deserves at least a few more games to see if the level can be maintained.

Why would we want someone who has just been sacked after not managing a win in 12 games? 🙄

He finished 12th in the EPL last season with palace. Improved NY each season and would attract players.

He'd also not be coming up against the world's best managers every week.

Not that he'll be short of more lucrative offers.
