  1. They probably believe that, if they keep their heads down and say very little, the storm will pass overhead. I can only speak for myself but, the less said - in particular from JC saying nothing other than "it's just my turn", "these things happen in football", "if it can happen to Walter Smith and Gordon Strachan what chance have I got" - the angrier I get with it. He is ripping the piss out of those rightly disgruntled fans every time he garbles out this pish It's not just your turn Jimmy, this is a situation of your own making. Shit or get off the pot - prefferably the latter.
  2. So now the problem is that, for a nation of 5 million, we expect too much Why can't the man wake up and smell the coffee. He feels it's 3 games out of over 200 that have angered the fans. No Jimmy, those are the straws that broke the camels back. The continual servings of unentertaining football, the tactical merry go round, the players played out of position and the failure to capitalise when teams around us drop points, are reasons to name but a few. Add to that the mans incredible ego and arrogance. He feels he can counter all the claims of tactical incompetance with one game, Dnipro. So this is one game the tactical tombola fell into place - the law of averages say it had to happen. He would love to win us a cup, but you need luck! I'm sure many of us would have seen drawing lower league opposition in the latter stages as all the luck we needed. Another opportunity for Jimmy to come out to the fans and shoulder some of the blame, tell us how he plans to turn it around. Another opportunity he failed to do so.
  3. The pressures even more on if you a a worker who rarely turns up to work due to injury, yet you know a "no questions asked" contract will be on the table as long as this boss stays
  4. He speaks in the full story of the "vocal minority" and "silent majority". I think he has seriously misjudged the situation, as has Mr Calderwood. If the vast majority of Aberdeen fans support JC staying, lets hear them cheering their man next Saturday. Lets see the "bums on seats" shoot up as these vast numbers of JC supporters stand up to be counted. Likely? Not really, is it. The simple fact is Aberdeen fans have lost patience and it will take a miracle of huge scale for most fans to regain support for Calderwood. This is a man that publicly slates players he has signed, coached and directed, as far as tactics goes, but never accepts responsibility for, publicly at least, debacles such as Dunfermline, Queen of the South etc. I think a large amount of the support would have far more respect for him if he did.
  5. These idiots are not Aberdeen fans then. I now firmly want Jimmy to go - regardless if we make europe or not. Anyone who wants Aberdeen to fail to reach europe in some hope that will seal Jimmy's downfall, well they are simply not fans of Aberdeen.
  6. I have to say I always thought Spiers was a pompous, head up his own arse prick. I can't find fault in that article though and am even more impressed by him sticking two fingers up to his own.
  7. A storm brewing at the club you love is surely never a good thing, financial uncertainty or not? If they were suggesting using Hearts as some sort of "recovery model" I agree this is ludicrous. I would hope, however, they were simply putting Hearts across as hope for the future that teams can make inroads to the infirm. On the subject of financial stability, how much has it cost the club by not progressing in cup competitions, in three seasons, against lower league opposition? Last seasons exit cost us a place in europe this season - at what cost? Each position lost in the league costs the club money. Average gates may be up at the moment but I strongly suspect, with the "storm brewing", will come a fall in gate receipts, again losing money to the club. This comes right down to a lack of motivation amongst fans potentially hitting the club in a fall in sales of merchandise. In my opinion keeping Jimmy is costing the club now. Calderwood shows an incredible arrogance for a man that has hurt the fans so much. Rather than shouldering at least an element of the blame for failure he simply says it's his turn to have the heat turned up on him. If he sets himself any standards as a manager at all surely he can't avoid seeing he has failed to meet them. So why doesn't he admit this to us and, if he still feels he is the man for the job, explain what he is going to do to push things forward? He never appears so shy when it comes to publicly attacking the players, the fans, pitches, or any other barrier he feels he can hide behind. Personally I welcome what the unfortunately accronymed "ASS" has done, and I do believe that, particularly post Dunfermline debacle, their sentiments probably do represent a majority opinion. It is possibly not the best written letter of all time but they are football fans, not necesarily English experts.
  8. On a hugely more important note, anyone know what has happened to GW&R tonight. Most likely he has had his tag withdrawn and been returned to Polmont. Still, he may have choked on a mixture of Buckfast and vomit. I wont sleep till I know
  9. Thats pure and utter shite you prick
  10. Watched game on Alba. Actually thought, for once, McCurry had decent game against us. By letter of law Kerr deserved his red card and, credit where credit is due, Jones didn't crumple into a heap like he had been shot by a sniper in Basra. We played some pretty decent football in the middle third of the field, typically toothless up front. Thats been a problem for so many years, why can't those in charge at Pittodrie see that? Some dumpling from Durham was on radio after the game claiming McCurry gave every decision our way. Be nice if he had the option of watching the game on Alba. In the cool light of day he had a pretty good game - doesn't make up for the shocking decisions against us in the past though
  11. Poor Mark, I suspect he has failed to grasp the difference between "let down by" or "disappointed and angered by" and "hate every blade of grass you ever walked on"!!!! Pop up to the Granite City and see if your any more popular now
  12. Agreed, but so many times this season, when those around us slip up, so do we, not taking advantage. I'm normally an optimist with AFC - don't know why!!! - but I just can't see third. Hope so much I'm wrong!
  13. Fair enough, I take your point. I was more meaning from the point of a club hungry for success where little or no resources will be available. That said, that probably covers a multitude of clubs
  14. In the absence of having your own opinions you appear to sit at your computer - probably with a box of mansize kleenex - trying to pick holes in others. Summed up in three symbols - =
  15. Exactly. And the longer we go on with this the harder it will be when the change comes, to bring in a new manager, new players etc. We keep hearing Aberdeen are a "big club". What exactly does that mean. Are we still entitled to consider ourselves one? How much longer can we if the answer to the last question is yes. Calderwood was on the radio today saying all he could say was sorry. That's not good enough anymore. I do believe he is sorry, I saw him interviewed after the game and I would say, from the colour of the whites of his eyes, he had been in tears. Time for a change. Jimmy brought us up from where we were, for that thanks, but it's now time to move on.
  16. For me it's not a witch hunt Jager (for others on here it may be). As I said last night I don't think he is an arse or a prick, I don't even think he is useless. The way Dunfermline went down and we went up when he came to us shows he has qualities. Sadly I just think he has taken us as far as he can.
  17. Because, regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, he has shown he has taken the club as far as he can. Well, actually I didn't make the poll so I am giving my opinion rather than answering the question
  18. What is the definition of a big club then? How much longer will we be able to call ourselves that, assuming we legitimately still can? I'm not convinced we will be seen as a good opportunity Time to make the move now though, not the end of the season. Like somebody else said, young fresh blood being given an opportunity. I think someone in that category would see it as a good opportunity. A gamble maybe, but one worth taking.
  19. It pains me to say this, seeing as it's from , but I agree with every point above
  20. I disagree with the first point, that we shouldn't get rid of Jimmy now. I think if he had any self respect he would realise he has taken us as far as he can and would go of his own accord. On the second part, re a young, untested manager, I fully agree. I thing someone who previously played for his shirt at the club would be a bonus, but as you say, not a necessity. It is time for the club to do something brave, I suppose the first part of being brave will be the discusion with Jimmy. But we need new blood in other areas of the club too. What are the youth development and scouting teams doing? Other, so called smaller clubs than ours, seem to be able to attract better talent and bring on more gifted youngsters.
  21. I'm sure like others, any resignation would be after negotiating a pay off
  22. When I first joined this forum (not that far back) I used to think your postings seemed sensible enough, and that, for some reason, most others seemed to think you were a wanker. I can see all the reasons now! I would also imagine you share some sort of gene with Glasgow West and Red .
