  1. You could well be right there. Think McAuley's playing for Dumbarton (or someone down that way) whilst studying for a degree. He's obviously one of those "funny types" (like Lovell), and not a gallus young chap like that great white hope Maguire.
  2. Ah well, now he's apologised, at least we'll get the point he lost us. That'll make things better. What? We don't? He's just saying something easy to get those nasty sheep fans off his back? Cunt.
  3. Was McAuley not a debut under Paterson, along with Considine (youngest ever player or some such nonsense)? Which would make Maguire the only kid that Jimmy's pushed through.
  4. I think it was a case of hearing enough about him to go and have him watched, but on closer inspection he was most definitely a second division/lower first division keeper. However, that's about the level we've plucked the last 2 from though, so i could have misinterpreted what i was told...
  5. We're not interested. He's not ready for a step up and he's too unprofessional apparently. When our goalkeeper spotter went to see him, he saw him come out for the second half eating a pie...
  6. Nah, Livingstone have just had an investment from a Celtic fan. If i was a betting man, i'd put my house on him ending up there. However, the last person who told me they'd do that was very wrong indeed. I like the way he's just leaving. No notice period, no "i'll leave at the end of the season", just "i'm off". So long you cowardly wage thief.
  7. I'm not sure i believe most of that. I mean, why would McNamara be carrying his contract around to rip it up for a start? I'm sure there's probably some truth in the whole story, but i think it's been fairly heavily embellished.
  8. Aye, he didn't want to sign on for longer as he had honour (he said) and would only play until his countryman was fit. He then reportedly told the huns he would only sign for them if he could get £15k a week, as he thought he'd just be a sub, but would take £4k a week to play first team football.
  9. Have you watched Miller not doing that this season?! The amount of balls he takes down, holds up and then looks for an option to help him out is unbelievable. Far and away our best attacker. He does end up on his knees a lot (softly or otherwise), but i think he does an awful lot more for the team than anyone gives him credit for.
  10. To be honest, i thought Brewster was utter pish for us. Blew out of his arse after about 40 minutes of every game he played in and was NEVER going to be a long enough term option to justify unsettling Miller, who (at that time, but probably not now) was. One thing he did very well though was talk other players through games. He had the attributes of a captain and if he'd been 5-10 years younger, he'd maybe have been a better option than he was.
  11. And that's exactly their plan. The EE scents blood. As the week goes on, the fallout from Saturday could turn to apathy. What better way to keep the anger flowing than a story linking us with a couple of Dunfermline players that nobody wants... :fingerscrossedsmiley: However, i wouldn't be surprised to see Esson come back here after he leaves Hereford. I'd be hugely annoyed and disappointed, but not surprised.
  12. Don't think you need to look back too far. I'm sure i saw somewhere that we'd been on our longest run since before the Second World War without getting to even a cup semi, let alone a final in the years from 2000 until this season.
  13. The thing that really annoys me, more than any other as far as JC's "blame" in this goes is this: That article could have been lifted from almost any game at any time this season, right back to Tannadice on day one. What have he and his coaching team been working on all through the season that our defending is still so shambolic? Our "success" over these past 4 years has been built on a solid, organised back 4. Surely it's not rocket science to suggest working on that specifically? As far as Saturday goes, the majority of our team showed themselves up for the gutless, spineless fuckwits they really are. I'm just waiting for the newspaper stories to emerge towards the end of the week. You know the ones, "I'll fire the goals" (no Darren, you won't), "we've got to make it up to the fans" (no Seve, you probably won't) etc etc etc. They say a manager moulds a team in his own image. After 4 years, i'm fairly starting to see it in our bunch of fannies. Edit: Hmmm. That wasn't meant to be as anti JC as it sounds. Feelings still a bit raw i think.
  14. I'm going to have to share some of your blame. When Steptoe came on, i said to my mates "we're practically through now. We could play with nobody at the back and that useless bastard wouldn't score."
  15. Mark Fotheringham's leaving Norwich on a free. Possible Barry Nich replacement?
  16. Jimmy was on telly this week saying he didn't understand why the fans would prefer to win the cup to finishing in the top 6. It's because you've never won anything, you fucking bellend. You'll never understand how it feels until you experience it yourself. The top 6 is a ridiculous idea, which only allows self-preservasionist fuckwits like yourself to claim some kind of triumphant season. "Ooh, we finished in the top 6 again. Aint we good." No, you're not. This is one of the poorest leagues in Europe and we've got an away record that's worse than everyone bar Gretna. You've had the whole of last year to prepare for Anderson leaving (let's face it, you were telling the papers he was probably going to leave for long enough before the end of last season, that it was a foregone conclusion), and still, with 5 games of this season left, the defence is shambolic (dare i say sloppy?) most weeks. What the fuck goes on in training? Do the players train twice a day? Do they even train once a day (Crocky McNamara excused, as he has to get in and back from Edinburgh. Cunt.)?! It sure as fuck doesn't look like it. Still raging, and i wasn't even there.
  17. I think they'll go out and play like champions for the last 5 games. They'll be out to prove a point. Then, next season, point "proven", they'll be back to being hopeless, gutless, feckless, mercenary cuntbags, who turn up expecting a result because "we drew with Bayern Munich, doncha know".
  18. See, the thing that really fucks me off is the bench we had today. I'd have started with more or less the same team (take out that crock McNamara) but the bench was atrocious. Young? Duff? Touzani? Where in cunt's name was Walker and JDV?
  19. One of my mates keeps sending him emails. He never replies. Well once he did, but it turned out that was some kind of Spanish/Argentinian phishing scam that had looted his address book.
  20. I dunno if the SPL is the only league in the world to have gone down such a route. I remember reading somewhere that the whole top/botom split was based on the Brazilian league and the way they work(ed?). However, whether this was misguided thinking that copying Brazilian leagues might lead to Brazilian football i am not sure. Having said that, have you seen Brazilian domestic football? Fucking murder. Maybe they're closer to us than i think.
  21. While there's a lot of truth in that, i thought Miller did well again. He won most aerial balls and was constantly looking for an out ball. Mackie's runs never seemed to be trying to create space, more just running for running's sake. But, to blame him for us being pish today would be harsh. Indeed, i suspected he might get a goal today, as he normally builds up his scoring record vs the bottom teams. But anyway, i'd only give Miller and Soutar pass marks to be honest. Everyone else just didn't seem interested, Mair was awful as usual and Considine showed that Diamond must talk him through every single game, such was his complete lack of ability first half.
  22. ...Shite touch and passing though. And he miskicked his goal. He surely never meant to volley it into the ground. Worked his arse off though, i suppose.
  23. I thought they'd no fans as well, but turns out the 68 of them (i was bored) were in the main stand by the corner. Thought Lovell's movement was very good. About the only good thing he did with the ball was square it to Nicholson though. All in all, a pretty awful performance but a comfortable win. We just didn't look interested. Too many moves broke down by trying to be over elaborate with the ball (i'm looking at you in particular Messrs Miller and De Visscher) when we should have concentrated on winning the game first.
  24. But will they though? I'm sure last pre-season they played something daft like 3 games in different places (Dunfermline, Dublin and somewhere else i think) in one night with about 2 or 3 "known" players in each team and then an assortment of reserves/youth teamers. We might get a surprise though.
