  1. Rename it Aberdeen Orion FC, and we're almost back to where we started 110 years ago
  2. Eh??? Whoever thinks that Fallon is going to be the answer to all our goalscoring problems is in the same bananaboat as those who are glad that Mackie is still at Aberdeen after 12 years.
  3. How did he do on Saturday against Killie? Must admit when I heard the news I thought "there's only one Fallon I've ever heard of in football ... nae impressed if its the same one". Sure enough it is the same one. I've been to three All Whites games now, and Fallon has played in all three. He is definitely not of decent pedigree ... very much another Darren Mackie who will score of his arse a few times by accident, but the majority of us will be frustrated as 99% of his shots sail off into the RDS ... or Main/South Stands, in some cases!! But he'll score the odd goal, just like Mackie, at crucial times to make things all worth while. If we're scouting around NZ for players, there's much better strikers to be had such as Leo Bertos or Shane Smeltz
  4. Seen Fallon quite a few times. Not the most gifted footballer, and I've seen him miss some real sitters. But he is a very hard worker and wouldn't look out of place in the SPL. He is an internationalist who often is paired with Chris Killen
  5. I was genuinely excited at the prospect of Steve Lovell and Lee Miller upfront for us - could've been the best striking partnership since Shearer/Windass. Alas t'was not to be, predominantly thanks to Miller's form and Lovell's injuries. I remember Lovell when he was at Dundee, and thought to myself "why can't we have a striker like him?". The matches we played against Dundee when Lovell and Caballero were paired upfront would've been a delight to watch for neutral fans ... unfortunately they tormented our shit Steve Patterson inspired defence :-(
  6. 70 out of 117. Admittedly, my memory has blotted out many of the bombscare signings that Pele made, so the period around 2003>2005ish was very vague and blurry
  7. Obviously I didn't see the game, but commentary was saying Hasselbaink pretty much dictated terms throughout the entire match. Anyone else confirm? If so, I'm shocked he only managed to get a move from Hamilton to Helen Mirren in the summer
  8. Well the above IP Shield thingy worked. Got heaps of dodgy porn-popups every time I clicked on anything, but I did manage to listen to NS2 completely uninterrupted from overseas!! Woot!
  9. I finally found a UK proxy shield. It installs a shield automatically, finds a UK IP address, and thus lets you listen to UK streams and watch UK-only video from overseas. See: http://www.watch-bbc-iplayer.com
  10. Clearly you dont watch p0rn on yer mobile, then!
  11. Didn't we link up with some Aussie club in March or April?
  12. Fantastic news. Over the past few seasons, my following of the Dons has declined as, although finding live TV matches online was easy as pie, finding a way of (nae exactly legally) streaming the radio coverage to NZ was near on impossible. Aye, I know I should've subscribed to RedTV, but I'm a Scrooge and dinnae like paying for anything on the internet! The return of NS2's commentary means I can now listen to the games again. Friggin fantastic!!!!!
  13. Aye, Russell donated his signing-on fee directly to the Pittodrie youth system. Think I remember reading quotes from Russell himself to this effect
  14. Well, all EPL clubs can only register a maximum of 25 players for the forthcoming campaign (well, up to the transfer window, anyway). With most EPL clubs holding more than 25 senior players on their books, could well be a chance for Pa Broon to net a really decent striker on a season-long loan deal.
  15. Got to be good for the Scottish game. Hell of a lot better idea than the previous SPL rule where you had to have a minimum of two U21s in the match squad - which sucked cos the Old Firm just popped these two kids on the bench and never played them
  16. They declined my application to play in Dazzling Darren's testimonial match?!!!
  17. Watched Chile vs Venezuela in the Copa America today. Farcical goals that Darren Mackie's arse would've been proud of. I was expecting the Copa to be full of typical South American flair. But it's shite - every team seems scared to do anything beyond the absolute basics
  18. and the defeat to Morocco in the 98 World Cup ... "Jim Leighton basically had nothing to do, except for the three times he had to pick the ball out of the net."
  19. Nice to see Pawlett's been on the weights. Looks a bit more solid than he did pre-injury
  20. Probably proof that he got a pair of pretty classy boots whilst playing for Der Hun, and has opted to keep them rather than the rhombus-shaped clogs they dish out at Pittodrie
  21. Narrowminded twats. Foster went on loan to Der Hun, he didn't request a transfer to Der Hun!! We've had plenty of ex-huns play for us and manage us (especially in recent times). Why Foster gets the abuse I'll never know. But like I say, we've got some right twats in our fanbase - as does everyone else. Just a shame these twats have opted to travel to Holland, as they are probably now the majority over there.
  22. Wants to be in the central belt? FFS it's nae exactly as if Aberdeen is a gazillion miles away from the Central Belt. I mean Lee Miller successfully commuted from Perth for three years (albeit a bit too quickly sometimes!). But it's not exactly a Craig Hignett style situation where you're stranded in Aberdeen and your kids are in Liverpool. FFS it's the central belt! I often used to make the journey from Stoney to Edinburgh in 2.5 hours. Oh well, no great loss. As BigAl says, move onto the next target
  23. Yeah I've seen a couple of papers rubbishing the rumours. But as BB states, there's no quotes to back up the claims.
  24. He's an arsehole, especially versus Aberdeen. He's prone to absolute bam-head moments (see Duff tackle, sticking finger up at Dons fans, mooning), but he's certainly decent quality footballer ... certainly of the level we should be looking at (makes a change from the days of Leigh Hinds and Michael Bird). So, the question begs. Would you have Novo at Aberdeen or not?
  25. Preece did not arrive at Aberdeen as a decent keeper. Leighton's coaching turned him into a semi-decent keeper over the space of 3 or 4 years.
