  1. Maybe I sit at the wrong bit but I don't think I've ever heard any 'not so PC' songs at Pittodrie from the home fans. In fact the only 'not PC songs' I've heard dons fans sing have been at Ibrox.
  2. Looks like a good shirt ruined by a horrible collar.
  3. I'm graduating from uni this year as well but hoping that if I get it now at the early bird price I'll still get the student discount as the student card doesn't run out until August. Last couple of years gone with my dad and step brother as part of the one adult and two concession deal which took off about £25 each from our ST prices as well but this year my dad has decided against renewing so even if I do get the student price it will still be more expensive than it has been for the last couple of years. That with a couple of bad seasons in a row where I haven't made the trip up to Aberdeen as often as I'd like has made me wonder if it's worth it.
  4. I'm undecided. Had one this year and only just justified having it.
  5. Can only remember the Aluko one. Based on that alone I voted for it.
  6. If it really is homesickness which is making him want to leave then it seems unlikely he'd move to another Scottish team. I think if he stays in Scotland it would likely be with Aberdeen. In saying that someone told me his girlfriend lives in Edinburgh so perhaps he is eyeing up one of the Edinburgh/central belt clubs.
  7. I've seen it in other sports but never in football before. There was one moment in the second half when they said they where about to interview Billy Reid but that he'd 'walked away'. Perhaps too busy doing his job at the time. Out of interest does anyone know what the rule is regarding SPL managers and speaking to the media? I've heard that with some sports round the world that they have to give at least a certain amount of time to specific media outlets per match otherwise they are in breach of contract, but I have no idea how it works with the SPL.
  8. Thought last night's game was pretty boring, which I haven't come to expect watching Barcelona or La Liga in general. Real probably deserved the win by having a game plan and sticking to it. At the same time I hope there are two attacking, open games in the Champions League but I'm starting to doubt that there will be. A draw or a tight result at the Bernabue I think could set up a good match at Camp Nou though.
  9. The fact they say there will be a 'heritage' logo makes me think they'll be doing something retro looking albeit with the Team Recruitment sign on the front. Bayern Munich on their online shop have (or at least had) a retro version of their strip which was pretty much a direct replica of what they had in the eighties. Something like that for Aberdeen would fly off the shelves I reckon.
  10. http://www.heartsfc.co.uk/articles/20110421/royal-giveaway_2241384_2343145 "Hearts will mark the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton with a right royal ticket giveaway. With the happy couple tieing the knot in Westminster Abbey on Friday, April 29, the Edinburgh club has decided to offer all Jambos called William or Kate a free ticket to this weekend's Clydesdale Bank Premier League meeting with Motherwell at Tynecastle."
  11. I'm part of the younger generation where four goals conceded is the norm at Hampden and whilst it is frustrating in a way it is difficult to be overly disillusioned because I think we are born with an inbuilt feeling that success is very unlikely. If it comes then great, if it doesn't then we will wait until it does. I'm just glad Aberdeen have managed to get to two semi finals this season and rather than get knocked out by lower league opposition (another thing I've become all too used to) we've been knocked out by a team which are considerably better than us. The only problem I had was people my age became interested in football at just around the mid-late nineties and living in the North East but seeing my class largely made up of Celtic, Rangers or EPL fans saddened me. On the train today I was sat next to two blokes about my age wearing Celtic scarfs and shirts. They where talking in a North East accent and it turned out they where both from Kintore. The worry about lack of success to me is that people of my generation are going to reject supporting the local club and instead favour the more successful teams like Celtic and Rangers. All in all I support Aberdeen and whilst I would love success to come I doubt it will in the near future, but I'll keep supporting them anyway, as bad as it can be at times I still love going to games.
  12. At the moment fairly low. Maybe 2. But I think when it starts to get built, seeing a physical structure being built, I might become more excited/interested in it.
  13. I need to stop going to Hampden. I think I may be a Hampden bad luck charm.
  14. It sort of is really isn't it? In my head I'm treating all five upcoming games as unglamour friendlies.
  15. Not giving up, I enjoy going to games and I am hoping that one day in my life time I'll see Aberdeen win some silverware. I was having a discussion with my dad about the League Cup semi earlier in the season. He didn't go (he didn't go to this one either) despite being a Season Ticket holder and a big Aberdeen fan. His reasons where that he didn't want to travel all the way down to Glasgow to see Aberdeen play in a game that they would almost definitely lose which wasn't a final. My attitude was that I really wanted to go to both games when they came round because I'm not used to seeing Aberdeen get semi-finals and even in games with very little hope as I'm not used to seeing Aberdeen achieve much in my life-time just being in a semi-final makes me excited and although the results where pretty dire as far as I'm concerned both games where the most important of the season, and outwith Europe or the occasional game for a Euro spot in the league some of the most important I've witnessed as a Dons fan. Perhaps that's a sad attitude, particularly as not too long before I was born Aberdeen where a fantastic side etc etc, but the Aberdeen I've grown up with have always been pretty bad.
  16. It was frustrating that it felt like the game was ruined so early on as initial signs made it look like Aberdeen where wanting to take the game to Celtic and actually went out to play football. As soon as we were down to ten men that all changed. All in all I'm a bit gutted that the season is over but I never really expected Aberdeen to get a win, would have been nice if the game was tighter. Good atmosphere I thought as well, it's felt like the atmosphere at Aberdeen games has been dead since McGhee took over Aberdeen so it was nice to see people supporting the team even after the fourth goal went in. Hopefully one day I'll go to Hampden and Aberdeen won't concede four goals. Every single time I've watched Aberdeen there they have lost four goals.
  17. Oh well, not going for a quick pint before the game then. Another problem with the kick off time.
  18. Thought Aberdeen played well yesterday and if they had a bit more accuracy that well could have been a draw or possibly even a win. Unfortunately it seemed that the situation that would lead to the best chance for Aberdeen in the match was ruined by the ref deciding there was some phantom free kick that for the life of me I didn't see, within thirty seconds Rangers got their goal. Lafferty was ridiculous, couldn't believe he didn't get booked for diving or for some of his fouls and couldn't believe that Diamond got booked for a tackle on him when he never came close to touching him. All in all the ref was atrocious, worse than usual which in Scotland is saying something. Think Aberdeen played fairly well, better than I expected them too after a bit of a nervous start. If they play to their ability on Sunday I think they might have a chance and I certainly feel more positive about chances of progression on Sunday than I did before the match. Also is it just me or have the Rangers fans got worse? With my de-placed ticket (due to some dirty hun getting to sit on my season ticket seat) I happened to be right next to the Rangers fans and what an ugly lot they where, burberry, Union Flags and St Georges flags everwhere with songs about Bobby Sands and British imperialism. It seemed like the only time they where actually singing about football was when they decided to sing about Ian Durrant.
  19. In/oot: In Pre match: Train...maybe pub if I can find one near the ground and I get there early enough Match: Aberdeen Section Post match: Train, maybe pub in Edinburgh. Prediction: Close game.
  20. I'm going. Not been to a game for a few weeks so looking forward to getting to Pittodrie again. Hope Aberdeen can win but think it's unlikely.
  21. Well I'm looking forward to it. As bad as Aberdeen may be this season I never experienced Aberdeen ever being good. In fact the best season I've been old enough to be aware of was probably the season Aberdeen finished third and got into Europe. When I started watching Aberdeen it was during the seasons where the Old Firm would regularly get large score-lines against Aberdeen. I don't expect a win on Sunday but seeing Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish cup is still exciting for me, and I'm optimistic enough to think that it is possible, with a bit of luck, that we will get a result on Sunday.
  22. Well you won more than me. I put £2 on Ballabriggs to win. I'm still pleased with that though as I know nothing about gambling or horse racing and only went for Ballabriggs through pure blind luck.
  23. In or oot - Oot Furry boots - Work Pre matcher - Work Post matcher - Work Prediction - 3-2 Aberdeen.
  24. Thought Underbelly was alright, well the Australian version anyway. Watched an episode of it when it aired here and it inexplicably had a Scottish person doing a voice-over which made the whole thing seem like a crime-watch style programme. The second season of Underbelly is better than the first though, so long as you ignore the absolutely atrocious Scottish accents by the two Aussie actors playing Scots.
  25. I thought the second season was the best thus far (I've watched up to about half of season 4). Felt that Season 1 started slow but got good at the end, season two was amazing but season three was the worst so far. Good near the end but the first few episodes of season three I just thought dragged on compared to how good season two was.
