As I said, he buys us time because he’s a safer hire than many out there. Nothing guaranteed but experience means something. His job is not to progress us long term but hopefully steady the ship. Don’t get us relegated, get us top 6 and hopefully Europe which is not far away.
Robson kept fucking up and needed help/his hand held. I dont see this old timer needing that while we explore the best long term solution.
perhaps he praised Celtic or rangers in the past, big fucking deal. Here we go down this road again. Mcinnes was a hun, while from Aberdeen Robson is a Tim, etc etc. Maybe he wanted the rangers or Celtic jobs in the past so praised them, who fucking cares. I can’t stand the reaction to Huns, Tim’s, once he’s our guy I expect 100% commitment. Move on.

his job is not to progress the club ffs. His job is intern while we conduct a football audit. Cormack, Gunn (hopefully his replacement or a new structure), and the new permanent manager should do that.

Robson was an up and coming manager who kept fucking up. Played long ball, painful to watch. Mcinnes did in the end too, awful on the eyes. Glass was the opposite but we weren’t good enough to play out of the back. Who gives a fuck that he’s a dinosaur, it’s not his job to change us long term, his job is stability and get us up the table rather than the endless shit we’ve seen of late with the odd good game.

blows my mind the negative reaction. Has he been offered a 5 year contract? I’d understand the reaction is that was the case.

Jesus wept. Safer hire than many out there?  We're you dropped on your head as a kid?  It would certainly explain the negative reaction blows your mind....

Every single employee of a football club should be hired with the view to progressing the club whether that is playing or non playing staff. This guy will absolutely take us backwards.

I do, I absolutely care that he's a fucking dinosaur.  Don't be shocked to see injuries start mounting up because his coaching methods are prehistoric. This whole thing is a knee jerk reaction caused by the board not being able to handle criticism from a noisy minority.  We would have been much better off keeping Robson until the end of the season than binning him one fucking day before the window closes and thus scrambling to appoint a new manager at the worst possible time to be doing so in the season.  I've stuck up a lot for cormack in the past but this mess is entirely his making and appointing warnock is just going to make it worse.

  2. He's a bad hire because he was fucking dinosaur football wise as far back as the late 90's.

He's a bad hire because he's a fucking hun sycophant.

He's a bad hire because he will not do anything to  progress the club in any way, shape or form..

That this isn't immediately obvious to anyone within the fan base is as depressing as the appointment itself.

  3. That Clarke would leave Scotland for Aberdeen is nonsensical and I can't believe it's a. odds that short and b.  that anyone would be dense enough to bet on it.

Lennon though 🤦‍♂️They must know this will go down like a lead balloon if it happens. I'm starting to wonder if the whole warnock thing was a red herring from the start and purely to make lennon seem more appealing.  He isn't exactly popular within the Aberdeen support but, then, neither was Brown and I don't remember anyone sitting down in the Aberdeen end when he scored at mordor.

The biggest problem I would suggest with appointing lennon is that he inevitably falls out with everyone within a few years.  To be fair some of his teams have played some decent football, hibs in particular were fun to watch when he was in charge. Would that be enough to appease a relatively hostile from the off support should he come in and start getting crowds off their feet? Perhaps...... but only temporarily though and he would be turned on quickly at the first wobble.

    What an absolute mess.

One of my concerns over appointing an interim manager is that it puts us behind for summer recruitment. We need to get the new manager in now so as he can review existing squad and start working as soon as possible with recruitment team on identifying targets for the summer.

Agreed, like when Mcinnes came in toward the end of the season to replace Brown.

This really is a complete fucking mess.  I'm absolutely raging with the timing, if Robson was to go cormack should have pulled the trigger after the home defeat to St Mirren not a day befoe e the window closes for obvious reasons.

I see Micky Duff is on some bookies list. As a bit of a Cheltenham hero as both a player and manager I wouldn’t be averse to this. Turned Cheltenham round quickly. Would have been promoted, I think as Champions, in the Covid season had it completed. Did the following season, highest ever finish first season in League 1, before going to Barnsley where he turned them round too. Rated highly at both clubs. Plays decent football.
Just his short stint at Swansea as a blot.

Never even heard of him Baggy but that all sounds positive.

Wait, is that the same Mike duff that was an epic utility player in cm 01/02?

  6. I hate playing Levien teams, they never try and play football and are usually thuggish in the way the go about it.

One thing I liked about the Clyde and county games was we kept the ball on the deck for the most part and I think we will again on Wednesday.  Overall we should have too much for ST J and I think we will comfortably win without expecting a goal fest.  Can't see any line up changes from Friday though if there was I did think Clarkson was a bit quiet and may make way for Duk.

    2-0 Miovski and Duk

  7. Mcginn was ooc with celtic and we got him for nothing.  Not really the same as taking a loan. The only time that has worked really was Mcrorie though we were unfortunate not to get christie I believe and he would have been amazing business. I think it has to be looked at on a case by case basis but an option to buy should be a line in the sand.

  8. Overall I thought we handled that pretty well but I must confess I shat myself when they hit the post.   It was a solid enough win in the end against a stodgy team on a god awful pitch.

Another busy period ahead.  We are playing 2 games a week until the 17th of February.  Tough games too, our next 5 are away to St J (god I hate Craig levien teams), away to hearts, home to dundee, home to celtic and away to der hun.  This could well be a make or break few weeks for the squad and Robson.  The St J, Hearts and Dundee games are must win for him (or at least 7 from 9) I would say because if he's going into a double header against the gruesome twosome off the back of poor results against some or all of those three the pressure will be on big time.

  9. Just watched the pre match pressers with Robson and Roos.  Points of note for me were we are probably in talks with at least one player andbarron  and Roos potentially could  re-sign but they are wanting to see what else is available before they do.  I would say Barron more likely than Roos

Still not convinced Robson will come away from the 5. If he does then accept that we are not needing a replacement for the Ramadani role and need to get width but given Robson’s comments after County game I am not convinced he will not revert to the formation he has used for most of the season.

Perhaps but thats the first time I can remember him starting with the back 4 since he took over.  Given it worked really well and he does tend to stick with a team that has won I would be surprised if he switched.  Obviously the 2 weeks off are a bit of a curve ball though.

Fwiw I don't think it's a bad thing to be able to switch between a 3 and a 4 depending on who you are playing.  Some seem to be forgetting a back 3 has worked very well for us at times this season, particularly in Europe, and was hugely effective domestically last season in getting us into Europe. Robson has consistently mentioned how little time he has had on the training pitch with the squad.  Now he's just had a week with them it makes it all the more interesting to see which formation he goes with and how good the team looks as a result.

His 45 minutes at Charlton was unbelievably bad. Looked like he had never played the game before. At least only a loan so no real harm done.

Would like to see us get another right back in as cover for Devlin.

I'm quite happy with Milne there 2bh Jute

  12. They will be well motivated for sure, McCall doesn't like us much after his time at the Jutes.  I feel confident about this one though, I think the two weeks off will have been great for the squad both with getting some r&r and solid time on the training pitch.  It would be insane to move away from the back 4 after the performance in Dingwall.

4-0 dons.  Miovski hatrick and Morris
