Bit harsh on JC that. Gave me some of my greatest memories following The Dons - including proper European football. Had a pretty good record Vs them at pittodrie (3-2 Jamie Smith anyone?) Not so much at Ibrox mind you.

I don't think so, his post match after lafferty feigned a head butt from Mulgrew and got him sent off was nauseating.

"big Charlie has come and says he's not touched him, and big Charlie... He's an honest player.   Big Kyle though, he's an honest player too!"

And that was the moment I went full Calderplank out

Welcome aboard Jimmy. Has the potential to be one of the best Jimmys to manage our club this century.

Well at least this one isn't a hun sycophant like the last one  was

  3. What I think is interesting is Elfsborg  have picked their new manager. "Reports in Denmark state Elfsborg have landed Oscar Hiljemark of Aalborg as replacement for Thelin." This whole waiting till the mid season break before making the move seems increasingly unlikely to me as a result.  Players often don't respond very well when they know the manager is offski soon (not always, Liverpool seem to be doing OK 2bf) and now there are two teams with this problem.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Thelin in after the semi 2bh

It's all about feelings. I can feel it. Gut etc.

    In other words, shite.

Anything can happen in knock out football and we have a chance for sure.  The tims have massively turned a corner since the draw was made though, to stand a chance I can't help but feel we would need them to go down to ten men fairly early on.

"He also stressed a lot that we don't call substitutes just substitutes because they are decisive. And true enough, his substitutes decided many games. I don't think it was a coincidence."

    I think I love him.

Aye that caught my eye as well Rico.  I think we can defo safely say we are not getting more of the same with this guy

  6. In fine with June the 1st, it's not like he won't have done his homework prior to stepping through the door and have a good idea of what he's working with.  Don't be surprised if it is earlier though, sometimes squads don't react well to the knowledge the manager is moving on soon.  It may be they decide to take their new management team in a bit earlier if so.

I like the sound of this guy I have to say. My suspicion is that boring is paper talk for calm and calm is good. Derek Rae was saying nice things about him on twitter last week and I see that as a fairly solid endorsement.  All in though, assuming it doesn't fall through of course, isn't it nice to have a wee bit of light appearing at the end of this fucking miserable tunnel?

Poor performance today. Created very little all game. Thought we were fine defensively in first half but once McDonald came on at start of second half we looked very shakey. As well as he did as sub last week Duk was poor this week. Really don’t see what Hoilett does to keep starting. Thought he was really poor again.

New manager is going to have a busy summer.

When was the last time we didn't have a busy summer?  Must have been under Mcinnes

Funny how we seem to be going round in circles. I thought this one was dead in the water? I don’t even know who I want anymore, just want them to stop the rot.

I don't know who I ever really wanted to be honest mate. Agreed though, it's been a very grim few months

I agree, it wouldn’t be the worst as long as we don’t feel guilted into making the same mistake (surely not). He has a good aura around him and whilst I’m not expecting major improvements, he seems to know what the team needs.

When the tourist was appointed I mind the sportsound team being fairly sure Leven has absolutely no interest in the position, didn't want the pressure.  I can't see any set of results, even a Scottish cup win, getting him the job.  I wouldn't be devastated if he was in till the end of the season but I would much better for that not to be the case.

Did they? I thought it was just the P&J that ran with the "done by the weekend" line? Were there quotes, or named sources?

According to Scott burns the club were hoping/expecting it to be done over the weekend which I assume is why the story got leaked.

Would not be the worst appointment although he has been away from club football for a while. There were plenty of rumours that he was coming in when Robson was sacked so if it is him it makes you wonder why it’s taken so long and why we had to go through the whole Warnock farce.

Yeah, it isn't underwhelming exactly but we are unlikely to see a spike in season ticket sales either.  If it is him I suspect the delay is the fixture this evening.  Friendly or not I could see why you wouldn't want to leave NI in the lurch against Scotland, that it would be to leave yo a Scottish club side would be extra salt in the wound too.

For that to be true though it presents a conundrum which makes me think none of this is the case.  The club seemed genuinely confident they would get the appointment done at the weekend, O'Neill is unlikely to have given that impression given NI had a fixture.

Making that announcement was pointless, they should have just kept the powder dry until the ink was on the paper. Now everyone is wondering what is going on even more and the club looks extra shambolic.... Which is actually quite impressive to manage given how shambolic we were looking prior.

Message from a mate, has been correct in the past but has also been way off the mark many times.

    Not yet he's not E.D

If memory serves the consultants  we brought was a German company?

Wouldn't be totally shocking if we brought in someone with German football experience from that pov

The reigning ‘German Football Manager of the Year’ who managed a Budesliga team in the Champions League last season? Seems highly unlikely.

    Currently unemployed 2bf

Omg I never want McInnes back I had enough of him way before he left!!

We could probs keep us out of relegation but then he would bring everyone back from Killie and they would all play as pish as they did when they were here the first time 😂

Interestingly I was in London last week visiting youngest daughter and was in an Adidas shop buying trainers. Got talking to the sales guy and he said he had never met anyone scottish that didn't support either Celtic or The Rangers.

He knew Warnock had been our manager so the publicity with that had reached Battersea 😊

He could take that Armstrong kid if he wanted.

That's fair though. Personally I think both parties have moved on enough that a reconnection would likely produce something new but that's just my opinion.  It could be distinctly average.... Though I doubt it would ever get worse than that.

    He hasn't.

Bit of a myth really since Glass was his own man and we didn't spend big until Goodwin arrived.

    I'd give up.

He gave us some good times, but it's time to move on.

Disagree, Ramirez's wage alone proves we started spending bigger the moment Mcinnes left. That season we also payed fees for besuijen, Jet and bates as well I think? Brown would have been on a higher wage than anything Mcinnes could have offered either.

I agree however Goodwin was given even more to play with but of the three Mcinnes clearly had the smallest pot and imo it's because Cormack wanted to move him on.
