  1. Would be nice if we could pick up a few future talents. Sounds like the whole Under-19's were axed for reasons other than ability...

Sounds like they were axed for reasons solely relating to ability. Expected to win everything and won fuck all.

  2. Played well in the first half but he must be one of our top earners and doesnt play enough. Good player and would be sad to see him go but after binning Lovell for being injured too much JC doesnt really have much option in this one surely?!

  3.

And manc-don, is third really that far out of the question? There are twenty four points to play for, and we are sitting five behind Hertz with a better goal diff. Assuming (!) that we beat Hearts at Pittodrie post split, that would give us a two point gap. I'm not saying it's likely, just that it is still possible.

Think the general feeling is that we cant see where our next win is going to come from and this is the problem. After Saturday we'll know whether we're chasing third or hoping to hold onto the top 6 spot.

  4. I was under the impression that the boos Langfield got were down to him punting it up the field instead of throwing it to either the full back (who always seemed to be in acres of space)?

Not from those aroud me as on more than one occasion he had st.mirren players around him and therefore throwing it to a full back would have been goal keeping suicide!!

  5. I know its a bit late but these seemed overly generous for me.

Langfield - 4. Shocking distribution, sliced ball out for a throw in twice. Relatively safe handling though.

Seve - 4. Not overly troubled by st.mirrens front two due to Considine and Diamond but passing was way beyond awful.

Diamond - 6. Solid at the back, great challenge in the second half when one of their boys was through. Tried to get forward on the right hand side but shocking delivery.

Considine - 7. Pick of the bunch at the back. Had Hamilton wound up cause he wasnt getting a kick and was left with extra work due to the 'presence' of Mulgrew on his side.

Mulgrew - 3. Two great balls into the box and thats it. Cant run, cant jump and isnt the best defensively.

Foster - 5. Worked hard, pace got him out of bother a coule of times but was looking for more going forward.

Young - 1. Had a couple of shots on goal that went nowhere near the target and was basically lost.

Kerr - 7. Considering he was alongside Young he was left with a ridiculous amount of work but was quiet and effective about it and then did very well in setting up the opener.

Aluko - 6. Cool finish and a well timed run but in all honesty that was all that he did in the second half and seemed to be blowing out his arse after the hour mark.

Mackie - 6. Worked hard and didnt give the st.mirren defence much time on the ball. Couple of times reverted back to 'second touch is a tackle' routine though.

Miller - 9. Outstanding. The way he held up the ball and brought others into the game was excellent and was only a goal away from getting 10.

  6. He was like Bambi on ice on Tuesday night. Totally inept performance and should be nowhere near the game tomorrow.

The decision to take him off was certainly loudly cheered in the RDS.

The RDS is a funny place though, Langfield kicks the ball long but overhits Miller and goes through to St.Mirren keeper and loud boos ring out. Within a minute he has the ball again but takes more time and the RDS get restless shouting at him to get on with it, hits Miller who flicks it on and Mackie doesnt get to it, more boos. Funny as fuck, you just knew he wasnt going to get it right!!

  7. As I said elsewhere tonight, this time last year we'd played 8 league games and had 8 points. This year so far we've played 7 and have 7 points. Not much of a difference.

    To compare, 2007:

    Utd - L

    Hearts - D

    Celtic - L

    Hibs - D

    Killie - W

    Well - L

    Rangers - L

    Gretna - W

    2008:

    ICT - L

    Well - W

    Rangers - D

    St Mirren - W

    Hamilton - L

    Utd - L

    Celtic - L

It's not anything like some people are making out, some people need to relax. It's a new team, new players. Pretty much an entire new midfield trying to get settled in.

Sounds not much different but when you compare who we have still to play this year with who we had to play last year before the end of the first quarter then this is where the bad part comes in.
