  1. So by the looks of it nobody's ACTUALLY signed anything despite the reports last night. Not like the EE to get a head of themselves...Fingers crossed all works out well in the end though as getting extended deals for the likes of these guys is vital.
  2. Diamond and Barry Nic? Pah! Give me Thomas Solberg and Leigh Hinds anyday...
  3. I think you're right about the "self important" thing. The same people that spout a majority of the negative stuff are the same retards that come away with stuff like "Atletico Madrid / Loko Moscow / Panathaniakos were pish and were there for the taking" or ""At least we were entertained under Ebbe Skovdahl". Spastics, to a man and there is no point in rising to it as it's blatant attention seeking from popple who probably didn't get hugged enough as nippers... Really, Hendrik Larsson - like he'd get in the team ahead of Lee Miller...
  4. To sign new three year deals by the looks of things: http://www.thisisaberdeen.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=202847&command=displayContent&sourceNode=232188&home=yes&more_nodeId1=148325&contentPK=19214732 Great news all round!
  5. Hopefully that means Touzani stays, Severin has to make do.
  6. Does anyone think we should put Diamond and De Visscher back in for Mair and Young?
  7. Aye i don't know what that was all about - bit of a strange one.
  8. Touzani was nothing short of immense. On that form, he has to be a stick on to play the holding role every week IMO. He was fierce in the tackle and his use of the ball was superb. Lee Miller had a very good game, as did Dick Byrne, which surprised me to say the least. Smith was also looking like his old self up to the point he got injured. Despite the result, i'm more than satisfied.
  9. Terrifyingly, someone has just posted this on BNP Chat: EE has revealed the team, nicholson did not train yesterday and looks very likely to miss out. Seve up front for a physical presence along with miller in the hope that they can hold the ball up. I can see the logic considering we may be making a lot of clearnaces rather than passes from defence, unless, foster is playing who will try and make nice wee passes across the 18 yard box. Defenders clearing their lines means that you have to have strikers who will offer a some physicality against their defenders. if you don't have the class up front, which we don't, then next best thing is to defend from the front. get it right up them!! Back 5 of Hart, zander, touzani, considine, byrne midfield of smith, jackie mac, dek young miller and seve up front. Jesus christ i hope that's a wind up. Edit: Oh fuck, it's true: http://www.thisisaberdeen.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=202847&command=displayContent&sourceNode=232188&home=yes&more_nodeId1=148325&contentPK=19109431 That has to be the slowest frontline the world has ever seen...
  10. Found some brilliant smilies on this Hibs (huck tooie!) board: http://www.hibs.net/message/misc.php?do=getsmilies&editorid=vB_Editor_001 Think we could nick some?
  11. To be honest i don't know why anyone is surprised at this line up. The "culling" of players was never going to happen against Athletico - Calderwood was using that threat as a means to give a rocket up the arse of underperforming individuals like Severin and Clark, letting them think they might get dropped so that they really get stuck in tonight when they are given their "reprieve". I don't agree with it, but that's the way i read it knowing what we do about calderwoods blind loyalty with certain individuals. De visscher and Aluko would have given very solid attacking base, but judging by that team we're already going over there to sit in, and against a team like Atletico, that's tant amount to suicide if you ask me.
  12. A Graeme Souness / Richard Gough "Dream team". Actually, that could happen. What a terrifying thought.
  13. Mark McGhee without a shadow of a doubt. Had my doubts in the past, but everytime i hear him interviewed he impresses me. That, and he's turned motherwell from relegation fodder into a team that playing some really good football whilst getting resuts, and he doesn't seem to feel the need to change that style based on the opposition. Incidentally, Thats not a slur on Jimmy Calderwood despite those being things that have been the basis of criticism levelled at him in his time at Aberdeen, as i think he's done a fantastic job with us. JC won't go anywhere, but if he does, McGhee would be a brilliant appointment IMO.
  14. Big Dunc spent most of his time trying to wake "Pele" Paterson from his drunken slumber. I think it might be a good idea to offload Lovell. Perhaps as an exchange. I'm sure Superkev would look after him in Cardiff. But somethings got to be done to inject some life into our strikeforce. There's clearly fuckall inspiration coming from the midfield. So we need strikers who are gonna create something. We need strikers who are gonna take pot-shots from outside AND inside the box. Basically we need a fit-again Jamie Smith. Nail on head Reekie. I'd love to see the real Jamie Smith that we only get to see in flashes, and Lee Miller given a run up front together. I think they'd compliment each other well. Lovell remains a complete mystery to me, as every time he played against us for Dundee he looked lethal. Now he just looks murder...
  15. Howdy. I'm Drew Peacock. People seem to like me because I am polite and I'm rarely late. I like to eat ice cream, and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks. I'm partial to cheese on occasion, although I'm strictly mainstream when it comes to my dairy produce intake - I'll embrace cheddar, but Stilton can fuck right off. I'm currently 24 and 11/12ths, and have lived in Aberdeen for around 22 and a half years of that. Despite being born in Inverness, I consider myself a born and bred Aberdonian. I'm a season ticket holder in the RDS upper, and as a result I reserve my right to have an an opinion about Lee Miller's latest hairstyle. I'm a long time poster on DonsTalk despite a gloomy exile to the darkside in the days of unreliable servers, and it's good to be back. DP
  16. 1. Jagerdeen 2. Busy Bilbo Baggins 3. Glasgow Sheep - glasvegas 4. B. Biscuit Esq. 5. Monkey. 6. Drew Peacock Going to be watching it from the comort of my living room with a cold case of Hoegaarden. And I'm probably not going to wear any trousers, just because i can.
  17. Am i the only one that just wishes they'd shut the fuck up about a bid that hasn't happened? If it happens, then fine. But until then, please can everyone down Pittodrie way hit the the "i dont know what we'll do if we get an offer for Russel Anderson" chat on the head. It's getting right on my tits.
  18. Blink and you will have missed him though - what was it - 26 seconds after coming on as a sub against Celtic before he got his marching orders??? The depressing thing is he was one of the many rejects we signed for upwards of £350K - what i wouldn't give for us to have some of that cash now for transfer fees ....
  19. Clearly you havent been watching very much this season. Nicholson has been superb, and Seve has been poor for large parts of proceedings. You only have to look at how much we missed Nicholson when he was injured to see how important he is to the side. Definitely one of our best players IMO.
