  1. the desperation he's showing to wear the red shirt truly brings a tear to the eye. all the makings of an aberdeen hero.

    he can fuck off

Im not sure that many players are desperate to join us these days. Ill take good over desperate to wear the shirt any day of the week and couldnt care less if he only came here for a bet, as long as hes good if and when hes here

  2. If only, I canna drink now, or for the last year

Just really, really pissed off wi fantasy football played for real by morons, cheats, rich bastards who dinna ken a fucking thing about the game, cheats, ranger-cheats, weak-willed chairmen, bought-off journos, huns, hun-lovers, lennon, huns, lennon, fucking apologists and the fact the CUNTS ARE GONNA GET AWAY WITH IT

Beautiful prose, choked me up  ;D

  3. No chance.

McCall although he was a lanky streak o' pish, had a career goal scoring record of better than a goal every three games. To be honest he could be classified as prolific in comparison to anyone currently on our books even Scott Vernon.

Doubt anyone on here apart from the two of us actually remember the name Walker McCall though ;)

He played and scored in the first Dons game I went to at Boghead where the might Dons beat the hapless Dumbarton 3-2 in 73 I think. I remember as well when Fergie brought him back,  a strange signing that!

  4. Anyone remember him from the lat 80's. He couldnt get a regular game because of Jess, Nicholas, Mason, Hillhaus and Van der Ark but was a good finisher and scored a few goals for us. He went on to play some great stuff for Kilmarnock and scored a lot of goals.

Saw him in The Stewartfield Farm pub

/restaurant in East kilbride tonight hobbling about on a crutch/stick and weighing about 17 stone. Looks as if he enjoys a rather large refreshment.

He would walk into our team today assuming he was like he was back in the day and not the fat, shambolic wreck that he is today ;D

  5. Yet again could have, should have, would have.

Quite why we put Fallon on is a mystery given he has offered nothing in any game he has played, and it's no coincidence we lost our way when he came on.

More baffling is why he persisted with the one paced Fyvie on the wing given his complete inability to cross a ball or beat a man.  With Meginnson knackered surely a double change of Pawlett and Ucechi/Chalali for the last 10-15mins would have been a better idea.  Why the fuck did we sign these guys if we are going to persist with square pegs in round holes and lumps of wood like Fallon.

Having said that much improved entertainment level on recent games, some end to end stuff and amazingly some goals.  A bit more luck or finishing ability and we would have won.  Great goal by Vernon and impressed with Rae.

Sadly the main negative is our negative manager.  The last 3 draws and his attitude in them have cost us a top 6 place and right to fight for a Euro place from the league.  Having ensured we wouldn't be involved in the relegation battle he had the luxury of trying to win these games, instead he tried not to lose.

We have the genesis of a half decent side here but Broon needs to have the confidence to allow them to have a go otherwise we'll be in the same situation this time next year.  For now it's all about the cup cause there is fuck all else to play for.

Agree with all of this. Fallon is never a footballer in a million years and at the stage in the game that we brought him on we were exposing their defence and needed more pace not a lumbering cart horse. Was likewise impressed with Rae who rarely wastes a ball and has a bit of drive about him.

  6. Its funny how watching games in different ways or from different views gives different perspectives. I was at the game today and the team could not be faulted on effort, every player grafter hard and I thought we should have won.

Thought Fyvvie, after a horrendous opening 25 came onto a good game (missing the open goal excluded) despite getting kicked all over the park and in general our midfield played pretty well. i wasnt too disheartened. Having read the comments on here Im not so sure as sometimes the tv shows things much clearer.

  7. There is a good argument for giving him the money and signing him up for 3 years. We could keep him  next season and then get rid in the summer making back the extra money spent and more.

The problem is if he regressed into horeshit ala Seve or Mark Kerr or Mulgrew or got seriously inured wed be left with a pig in a poke and even deeper in the hole (calm down Mizer).

I think in this case and having seen what he can do it would be worth the risk

  8. I dont think that we were ever realistically going to be able to offer him the sort of money which will be on offer elsewhere for a proven international player.

No surprise really but were Dons fans so we have to live in hope that the boy would take leave of his senses and accidentally sign the contract when his agent wasnt looking ;D

  9. This makes sense to me with the proviso that he's not naturally shite. Too many excellent contributions in the past e.g. Dundeh, perfect ball into Miller for 1-0 v huns, that cracker in the 4-4 v. tic, Easter Rd etc. I reckon it must be his attitude and/or work ethic.

Im beginning to think its a psychiatrist or a good kicking Paton needs. The ability is there but he's seemed incapable of producing it recently.

  10. Our options up front have severely been lacking right enough but I can't help thinking that this signing is a case of 'we've got nothing else on the transfer front, so we'll give this guy a shot'. But all the best to the boy and hopefully he can provide a badly needed spark of creativity.

I agree with you RDU, I hope the boy turns out to be a good signing but it does smack slightly of desperation.

Time will tell as always, he may turn out to be a budding star, but with our track record...
