See the boy trying to get on the pitch after the 3rd!
My first AFC away game in about 10 years. Maybe I should go more often
Just back (sort of). Having spent over 50 years in Englandshire, this was my first "away" game, since I came home, when we beat the same team in the Cup semi-final in '67! Thought we were very lucky to be 0-0 at h-t, although we were getting on top for the last 10-15 mins of the half, Fletcher should had 4 or 5 today (yet he got the MoM! ). Duk was completely anonymous for practically all the game then produces a piece of stunning strength, awareness and cheekiness. After the pen. I was shouting for McRorie to be subbed off (even if it meant Matt Kennedy would be coming on) 'cos he'll cost us the game and then he pops up for the 2nd (obviously out of position). Then when the subs were announced I thinking "Why bring Watkins on, he never does anything" and then he scores a superb goal. So we are all experts! Train back to Aberdeen was bouncing, most of the carriage were, I'd guess, Ultras but great fun...although why sing about Davie Cooper/Bobby Sands? none, absolutely none, will have the first clue about what they are singing about...just sing about us! like they did with this - "Duk" Lopez comes from Cape Verde, he gave up the sunshine to play at Pittodrie"

Summer my feelings about it all perfectly TLG.
This is not a time for free flowing entertaining fitba.
Results are everything right now.
"Summer", not yesterday it wasn't! But, yes, the main aim from here on it is to make sure we're in the top 6 come the split.

Seeing a lot of plaudits for our new centre back pairing, justified? A few folk on Twitter saying what if we’d had them from the start?
Thought they were pretty good today - cleared it quickly whenever Livi threatened, were up against a big brute of a forward but didn't get bullied.. Also thought McKenzie had a good game and hopefully he keeps his place next week - Scales isn't better and he isn't ours, so develop our own.
Why do we pull everyone back into the box when defending a corner or shy?. Leave Duk up front - he's totally lost when we're defending and keeps looking towards to bench to ask where he should be - oppo will leave at least 2 but probably 3 against him which means we've that better chance of clearing the ball and it not coming straight back.

Sad news, I grew up with Motson being the voice of football on BBC
My lasting memory of him will always be that Hereford V Newcastle Utd FA Cup tie in 1972.

Switched off after fifteen minutes
Can we just not bother with the second half in the interests of damage limitation
So you missed Coulson's shot...it went out for a shy according to the wifie on open mics!

Don’t know where you’re coming from there, wee toon Red. I agree with every word above, they need to just crack on and appoint someone experienced ASAP. Really not sure what they are waiting for.
Michael Stewart was apopletic when Craig Levein's name was brought up!

Croatian born Hugh Jarsovit has been spotted looking at homes in Westhill.
We might be the first Scottish Club to appoint a women manager - Greek assistant coach, Anna Rexia, seen refusing to go into Greggs.

Can't say they haven't deserved it so far.
We really have no craft, firing long balls down the pitch.
At least it's only 1.

Every chance the same side plus AN other might have lost that game without him. In contention for MoM alongside Duk and McRorie.Typical industrious performance, though just managed to avoid a yellow card IMO
Our main threat was Mcrorie bombing forward and Duk muscling his way through...Miovski (sorry DD) just isn't cutting it, he was unlucky with the lob but should have buried the one-on-one, hopefully it's a strikers temporary dry spell (even Joey had the occasional time when he didn't score (probably 3 or 4 games!) but he has to start scoring soon, hat-trick next Sunday would do. Kennedy was simply shite...twice he moved across the park in the first half, with an obvious ball out wide to Coulson and each time he punted the ball into touch, to misquote Oscar Wilde "to misplace 1 pass is unfortunate but...etc" and why does he take all our corners? You never feel confident that we'll score from his corner kicks (remember the days when we had corner routines under McInnes/Glass), he puts the ball on the quadrant, sticks his arm up and loops the ball into the area, so even if Stewart or Scales win it there's no pace on the ball...contrast with Hayes' corner, whipped in so that the attackers can attack the ball. Anyway no defeats in '23, no goals conceded in '23.

Anyway, bringing the thread back to the game on Monday, I caught glimpses of County v Dundee United and the scoreline flattered United. County were very much in the game and on another day get a point.
Also played okay v Rangers but their problem, again, was scoring, which is just the sort of side we want to be facing.
Doubt if that will continue given our defence.

Thoroughly deserved. We're offering nothing. How many times had Matty run up to the defender, got 5 yards away and turned back. No belief in this team.
Since he came here or just tonight?

Hopefully we appeal against Stewart's red card, he gets another match added on to his suspension for being frivolous and by the time of the semi-final we've got in some-one (Ash Taylor would be an upgrade, actually Jeremy Ifil would be an upgrade) who can actually control or pass the ball (he's good at headering it).

Simply cannot start this game the way we did on Tuesday. Kennedy should start after his performance in the second half on Tuesday. Would be tempted to start him instead of Richardson at wing back. I would like to see us sticking with Miovski and Lopes up front to start but being ready to bring on Ramirez much earlier if it’s not working. United form seems to be unpredictable much like the rest of the league including ourselves. 6pm kick off means running for the train post game so spoiling chance of post match beers.
In
train then beer in town
Y
Jogging back for last train to Capittal.
ETA - 2-0 Miovski and Kennedy
You'll be hoping there aren't too many VAR hold-ups then otherwise it'll be a sprint.

walk to Pittodrie

Considine is a better player than Stewart and definitely not slower. Goodwin definitely called that one wrong.
And he doesn't think he's Beckenbauer. Twice in the 2nd half Stewart ambled across to cut out a long pass and instead of passing it back to the keeper, fannied around with it, run it out the first time and lost it to the forward the second.

On the VAR thing I don’t know why they waste time during the game getting the ref to look at the monitor. If he misses something, the guy in his lug should just be saying you need to give a penalty or number 6 needs to be sent off. Doing it that way also takes the heat off the ref a bit. In the old days, if the linesman told the ref he saw a foul and the player should be sent off he would have just done it so not sure why he can’t just take the word of the video ref.
Isn't that basically how it works in cricket? The batsman/bowler's captain appeals...it goes to the Hawkeye and it's either "yes your decision is correct or no it's not correct or if it's iffy then it the officials original call" - so that even if it looked like the ball was going onto clip the wicket it wasn't a clear and obvious error. And it takes about a minute.

Rangers though - tough but beatable. Very much like 2018 (was that really four years ago?). Hopefully it's Sunday 3pm and we get a right good support down the road.
With McRorie heading the winner!

Not got the best quality picture but that looked like a stonewall penalty to hearts?
Thought so to on first viewing (and probably a red card) but on replay the keeper did seem to get the ball. Can't believe the Hearts player (Grant?) wasn't sent off for going straight through Barron. Duk's run for the second goal was great...he ambled inside the defender who, even though Duk was struggling with cramp, couldn't keep up with him, Miovski drew 3 defenders leaving Vinny wide open. Second half performance was much better, thought Scales and McKenzie were excellent.
