Correct about County BUT as I said win next week we go onto 41 points and St Johnstone can thereafter only get to forty points meaning we ARE safe
Ahhh...didn't take into account St J...enjoy your piss-free chips!

Victory next saturday and we are safe regardless of what happens in the remaining rounds of fixtures after that.
That's the positive to take from today for me
Don't want to piss on your chips but, nae quite...County can get to 42 points, a win next week would take us to 41. So, basically - Don't tempt fate!

No need for the personal attack. Anyone that's ever had cramp (everyone?) recognises that you can't just run it off or whatever. It's a fairly sudden thing that pretty much disables you in position. He could have hopped out of the way
But Robertson would have insisted he couldn't just lie there in Hart's eyeline and had to get back to the other side of the goal, behind th lino and be quick about it.

Morris for Miovski. Not really the words I was hoping to hear in this semi-final.
Have to admit that I'd rather have had Doohan coming on

I thought Robertson had a decent game in general, but the second pen is definitely a failure of some sort of protocol. Robertson let play go on as if it were an offside call, only giving the foul when the penalty incident occurred. He gave the decision in advance of the VAR check, which isn't the done thing, he should have given the penalty and let VAR decide on the foul, as he clearly wasn't certain on it. Because he made the call, the VAR can then just play the not clear and obvious card and avoid the call. Had he not made the decision, I'm absolutely certain VAR wouldn't have given that as a foul - because it fucking wasn't one. Again, just another inconsistency of VAR that makes it impossible for anyone to understand and follow what's going on.
Yes, Robertson can be clearly seen, when the ball in played into the box and there's the coming together, that he doesn't think anything untoward has happened (otherwise he'd have given a free kick straightaway) so he moves away slightly backwards and to the side to see what was going to develop and then when Hoillet gets cleaned out, has a flashback in his brain and says "Oh yes, on 2nd thoughts there's a foul on the wimp in green". It may well have been overruled in any case (don't know which GFA/Sky official was on VAR) though it wasn't any more of a foul than the septic player on McDonald's fuck-up. Neither were fouls.

Aye, the Huns have always hated us more than the Tims. Our relegation more important to them than winning the league.
We could get lucky with our five point advantage. We're the second worst team in the league right now.
5 point advantage but we've to go to Dingwall and would you bet on us even taking a point with our scaredy-cat motley crew?

Is he was questioning whether he’s the only player creating chances recently. Stats don’t lie but it doesn’t mean he’s effective.
Stats don't lie? - Mark Twain/Benjamin Disreali might disagree with you - "lies, damn lies and statistics"

Presumably the ref. gave a pen to Sevco!
Watching Sportscene last night - no discussion about the RC keeper's "tackle" on Duk and St J. "equalizer" should have stood...the player didn't head the ball out of the keeper's hands, the keeper brought the ball down on his head.

Interesting gesture by Bojan at the winner...seemed to be annoyed that McGrath didn't dummy it and let a proper striker score!

Just back. A fairly dogshit performance, but a good result. Not many stand out performers today, with the back two just a total bombscare. Jensen nowhere near good enough for this level, and Gartenmann looks good when things are going well and honking when not. Devlin much improved when he removed the stupid mask. There are very few positions where you don't require a peripheral vision, fullback certainly isn't one of them, and we shouldn't be starting players with masks on unless absolutely forced, or the player is miles better than the replacement (Milne). McGrath was also terrible today, up until scoring, and Clarkson missed every pass, with Hoilett pish too. We were just extremely nervous, and we got lucky that County decided not to bother continuing their domination from the first half. Then Duk came on and gave one of his enigmatic performances. A wonderful turn and cut back for the second goal, the first touch was just class under pressure. We'd be sorted if he was in any way reliable.
We've got 2 CBs who look as though they are just don't want to challenge when the ball is pumped towards/crossed from wide and so jump for the ball without any conviction, added to that we've a keeper who seems much more intent on keeping (pun intended) his hair in place...the incident in the 1st half when the ball was played over the back line and he actually left his line but looked shit scared that the forward bearing down on him might make contact and was very lucky when he dropped the ball that the RC guy had gone beyond him (though to be fair his punch under pressure for their last corner kick was excellent). Feel you are being a bit harsh on Milne who isn't a FB and certainly isn't miles worse that Devlin - the time when they broke after one of our corners and we were caught short at the back, Devlin trotted back like an inferior Andy Considine.

We're in the final stages of the final stages of maybe signing Leven until the end of the season.
Or as someone once said we're not at the end, we're not at the beginning of the end but we maybe at the end of the beginning.

Wouldn't know, given that the impartial BBC chose not to cover it. How on earth was that not on the radio?
I'd have a guess that as it didn't involve a team from Glasgow then it's not really important.

Welcome to our world, Wolves...2-1 up on 97 mins, lost 3-2 to Coventry.

Cowan is always saying on the radio Motherwell are the team you want to play when you're a desperate for a result.
Fairly sure all the teams we've got to play are looking to us as an opportunity to pick up 3 points (6 if you're County, Livi, possibly Dundee).

Since the draw is tomorrow would it be worthwhile (*) Dave Cormack suggesting to the SFA that whoever is drawn out of the "hat" first and third are designated the "home" teams and get to choose the end they'd like their supporters to be allocated to and that the draw for the final (ie winners of match 1 v. winners of match 2) is made in a similar manner at the same time.
*obviously I know the answer.

Whoever we get hopefully he doesn't take a couple of training sessions and think "My, that Shayden Morris looks a player"

Again, in fairness, I think Roos realises he's stepped a mile off his line and just sorting of falls over. He really should be better at pens though, given the number we concede.
Penalties is the only fucking time he does come off his line so even if he actually saves one it's probably going to be retaken.

Being an old git think music finished in 1969...but was reading the Guardian's over-by-over on the India v England test match (the English were getting absolutely mullered!) and somebody posted this and just thought the video was terrific and the song's pretty good too.

Well, figure it’s close enough to start the thread and may get some more enthusiasm than the current season. So what do we need?
manager - Alex Neill
formation - 4-2-3-1/4-3-3
I’m going with the belief that we currently have 7 starters - Devlin, ruby (or gartenmann), Jensen, Mackenzie, shinnie, clarkson or McGrath, and sokler. 4 legit starter signings needed, plus more. I’d argue McGrath has been better than clarkson this year, but I dont think both together are our midfield solution.
goalkeeper - NEEDED to replace Roos, doohan is back up
right back - devlin, Richardson, SiGN gartenmann
left back - think Mackenzie deserves to be our left back, one of our few successes this year, mcgarry as back up, jenson cover too as gartenmann does right back.
central defense - ruby, gartenmann, Jensen, Macdonald - think that’s good enough, just need a legit and consistent keeper and midfield to protect and support them
Right mid - TWO needed, starter and back up, vinnie as back up? sell morris
left mid - ONE needed, possibly hoilett and mcgarry as back up, vinnie?? Don’t think Duncan is good enough, squad filler.
center mid - sign TWO. ONE starter needed, plus assuming Barron leaves. Free agent Baccus? Shinnie clarkson or McGrath, and one other, mcgrath/clarkson and polvara as back up, sign another ONE physical/athletic worker so that shinnie and new signing aren’t run into the ground.
Forward - assuming Miovski and duk are sold, I want sokler given a chance. SIGN one to compete with him to start, bavidge the third option and given minutes. Sell GUEYE.
I’m assuming miovski, duk, morris, gueye, and Barron are gone, and we sign gartenmann and hoilett. Hayes retires. Mcgarry gets a summer to get fit and prove what he can do next year, been unfortunate to date. A bench from Richardson, mcgarry, Duncan, clarkson/mcgrath, hoilett, bavidge, doohan, Milne, polvara, vinnie, plus a new back up right mid and an enforcing center mid.
Obviously Mikey Johnson is one of our new signings.
Sell Morris, sell Gueye...that's a powerful thing you are smoking Nobody with any footballing sense is going to buy either of those 2, I reckon we'll have to pay up their contracts.

When you evaluate Mackenzie's performance, you always have to caveat with the fact he's playing behind the most unpredictable player in the league
I thought that MacKenzie's performance today was even more impressive because of who was playing in front of him - thought he was our best player. Hoilet at least knows how to set up to defend, not like Duk who's always reacting.
