  1. Totally agree, by no means is he what we want. At the same time though, he’s suited to Scottish football, polvara is not. A Scottish midfield needs physicality and bite, of course an athlete too (sivert’s weakness.) I look at cammy devlin, hearts willo flood, athletic with bite and does a job in this league. You need piano players and piano movers, we only had finesse in midfield for much of today and it hurt us.
  2. Phillips is a good example, maybe a poor man’s Rama. Plays on the front foot with bite, good athlete with engine. Polvara on roids.
  3. We absolutely need someone with bite. Polvara is a good athlete. We had three guys in midfield today who dont play on the front foot and can’t win a tackle. Ferguson and ramadani were great, but both had bite and physicality. We had three fairies in there today, who can all play well with a good physical partner.
  4. Terrible comparison but look at the approach a Fergie team took to coming to Glasgow. They were there to be beaten today.
  5. Sivert wasn’t the solution but he’d have added a presence we severely lacked. His lack of pace and mobility would have hurt us. I also think he and Clarkson struggle to play together, get in each others way when Clarkson drops for the ball. Plus he’s almost 34!
  6. Easy to say now but thought we got center mid totally wrong today. We needed to be up for this game and McGrath polvara and Clarkson are all nice players. No drive or bite from deep. Perfect game for palaversa or sivert (obviously injured), if polvara starts it has to be at 10 ahead of Clarkson and palaversa. Thought McGrath was a waste of a jersey today. Okkels again showed we shouldn’t be buying him, although I do think that decision has been made, gave it away endlessly before being subbed. Topi was topi, worked hard but also gave the ball away most of the time. midfield has very poor, no real cohesion or ball movement, no bite, physicality, or desire to be aggressive, hence we were second best all day. as I said earlier, we were shite and created quite a few chances. What if we’d tried to dictate and dominate from the start? We got the approach totally wrong and gave a terrible team so much respect and time, that we gave them time and confidence to grow into the game. Dont think any other team in the league does that vs rangers. Absolutely got what we deserved. big game for our player of the year. Where was he??? Absolute joke he got that award. totally willing to give JT time but our management team needs a fiery coach. Far too passive in our approach yet again and that comes from preparation and leadership. They don’t have the bite and neither does our team. JT still hasn’t learned Scottish football and needs to wise up.
  7. And had we tried to win the game instead of letting rangers dominate and get confidence, we create a ton more chances, knock down a poor team, score goals, and win.
  8. Switched off, not watching now. We beat ourselves against a team that have been shit at home. Very disappointing but first half not playing to win killed us.
  9. That’s an easy blame but it’s more than that. Tobers looks match unfit but who is taking command in midfield. We’re getting overrun, and I say that right as Milne should score. As mentioned, we don’t have a Connor Barron like sivert may do, who will dictate the game. 3 now.
  10. Rangers have pressed us all game and given us little time on the ball and we give it away endlessly. On the other hand, they seem to have endless time on the ball.
  11. 100% agree with cowan and the mental fatigue/weakness. We are not a mentally tough team and that has to be addressed in the summer.
  12. We are not fine at all. Rangers are a shit team who haven’t won at home in 7. Down 2-0 now because we gave them a half to settle, dominate, and get confidence. We could get a doing here and fuck any confidence we have for Wednesday and the cup final. Piss poor approach against a piss poor team.
  13. It’s a game we need to win. Hoping we at least try to win it in the second half. Could be worst right now but I think the mentality is wrong. If leven goes to killie hoping we get an assistant with a bit more bite/passion, we lack that in our approach.
  14. 0-0 at half, two poor team but rangers better so far. Rangers have missed two very good chances. One change at half please, Morris for okkels who has been very poor, maybe Jensen for devlin if he’s injured. Ambrose score the winner?
  15. Rob McLean said it right there, massive opportunity because rangers aren’t very good. We’re not taking it, lack of real desire fight and passion for the game as far as I see. Do we want third?? dabbagh scores but clearly off, still 0-0.
  16. Ffs. 1-0 right before HT, although var may disallow it. Too easy for rangers, we don’t have the stones for these games.
  17. Started ok but fallen out of it. Rangers the better team just based on possession. We, much like a lot this season, cannot keep the ball, far too careless/clumsy. Rangers are poor and we’re not brave enough to take it to them. prob similar to last week? Dressers should have scored but not many chances so far.
  18. We didn’t replace the coach who came with JT in the summer who quit earlier in the season, did we? Any idea if he’s being replaced over summer.
  19. I would say he’s a decent manager, and he’s good at getting points with good teams when other teams are significantly weaker. I always felt the stars aligned for Mcinnes in the first few years, we had a good squad and some very good players. We made some good signings, perhaps mcinnes’ man management/personality helped there. An in their prime with us Lewis, Logan, shinnie, McLean, Hayes, McGinn, jack, Ferguson, possibly Sam cosgrove, Mackey-Steven, maybe even flood too would all start on our current team. Probably McKenna too but that more the fact I rate knoester. Add a sprinkle of Maddison and Christie, we had some good players. At the same time every main competitor , hearts hibs rangers, utd, all were poor and got relegated. mcinnes got us credibility and we were a top 3 team again, delighted for that, but I still as I said, thought he underachieved and we should have won a trophy or two more. Then in the last three years I felt he showed that without as much talent and maybe stronger opponents, he was a very bang average and limited manager. hearts don’t have a great squad, he’ll have to build, is that his strength? Does he have a solid core in place like he had with us? Will hearts have patience? And as said, will the transfer policy work for him. It will be his 4th spl team and he’ll be no surprise to anyone.
  20. Mcinnes did a good job for us, but he’s nothing special. He came to us when the Huns went to shit, and at a time we signed McLean Hayes mcginn, arguably three of the top players to have played in our league in a while (outside of the old firm), and a goal scorer in Rooney. He had a good squad and still only won one trophy, and that was arguably a primarily Craig brown squad. Im one of those who felt he underachieved with us and the resources he had, so I’m fine with mcinnes there, you know what you get and he’s not an overly creative mind.
  21. Agreed, back to a strip every x years rather than something new every x months! At the same time, given I live abroad, I buy one every year as my ā€˜season ticket.’
  22. I can’t get over the blue. Not a fan at all, if it was black and gold maybe, but blue and gold?? this is the away top, right, any idea if there’s a third strip/top?
  23. Never been a fan of blue kits for us. Why blue????
  24. Thing is, they aren’t hard players. And they are potentially the best ā€˜hard’ we’ve got, although I think tobers may be one. Wouldn’t call devlin anything more than a typical Scottish player, shinnie is a terror who gets stuck in, but not the hard bastard and presence of a Simpson, cooper, or Richardson in midfield. I’d compare shinnie to willo flood. Neither of our two have a physical presence.
  25. Clear and obvious - is that still in the definition of a var decision? No way it was clear and obvious today.
