Sad news indeed. Hung out with Pete many times, semi regularly back in the day, but our paths hadn't crossed in a while. Top bloke, chilled, funny, glass-half-full, music freak. I recall many a meeting ended with me leaving with a CD he'd burned, he seemed to carry a stash of such CDs to hand out as he felt appropriate. We played at Hampden 84, 1-1 McGhee, then again in 85, 1-0 Gough. The 85 game was supposed to be at Wembley but it was switched to Hampden as the Government had "security concerns" about it going on at Wenbley. This was the time when crowd trouble was the order of the day (a week or so before Heysel as I recall it) and Thatcher and co didn't want it kicking off in that London.
