St Johnstone been hit with an injury crisis

http://www.perthshireadvertiser.co.uk/perthshire-sport/stjohnstone/2010/11/16/eleven-missing-from-st-johnstone-training-session-73103-27662617/

DEREK McINNES yesterday put a threadbare squad through their paces on the all-weather surface at Stirling’s Forthbank complex yesterday – but an entire team was posted missing.

Midfielder Liam Craig was the latest to join an alarming casualty list after suffering a calf injury against Hearts which forced him out of the second-half.

Defender Alan Maybury sustained a broken nose against the Jambos and keeper Peter Enckelman was missing with flu, with Murray Davidson in Aberdeen with the Scotland squad.

Chris Millar (groin, Sam Parkin (groin)) and Dave Mackay (thigh) were joined in the treatment room and keeper Graeme Smith was visiting a specialist for a verdict on his hip complaint. Martin Hardie (knee) Kevin Moon and Graham Gartland are still unable to train.

Although they have gained more than twice the points than we have in their last 8 games - they are not in good form and are the lowest scoring team in the SPL. You aint going to get it much easier Mark.

Define "nay sayers" in your context.

McGhee's nay use?

We could win 3 or 4 nil on saturday and folk would still find room to slag the team off

If he goes out and plays with nobody up front then i could see why.

But if you pick the strongest team available to you and you are getting beat by that amount questions need to be asked if our squad is big enough to compete over a 40 odd game season - which has been painfully obvious that is not.

if you're responsible for putting that squad together, then the buck stops with you. we'd all love for him to be given more cash at the start of the season.

but look at the teams that have beaten us. do they all have stronger squads than us? really?!

there's certainly teams with less resources than us doing better than us.

by your logic above, Hibs & Hearts would never have got results against the  Glasgow 2 last week. but their manager's got something out of their players to raise them up a notch.

Again, I'm not directly slating MM here, I'm only pointing out your complete absolution of blame from him is a little hard to take.

Truth is, it's the middle ground between your posts, and the MM's a total retard posts of others that's probably closer to the truth!

The performance doesn't matter on Saturday, it is simply a must win, by whatever means.

Indeed. Points are something we desperately need and the unfortunate truth is if we cannot turn over a depleted St Johnstone at home then we are even further in the shit than we thought possible.

i could understand your point if we were at the arse end of the season, but we're 11/12 games in and it's not big enough to cope with that. In fact, replace "big" with "good"

It was obvious at the start of the season when we were told that we didnt have any money to bring in any more players we were going to struggle.

Nope not really - cant remember much occasions before this season where we were winning 4-0

Oh right. I didn't realise that would mean we all of a sudden wouldn't be competitive.

My mistake.

again, my mistake, you are of course right. I mean, why should we moan about a 9-0 reverse when we've won one game 4-0?

When you are having to relay on 17 and 18 year olds then you are pissing against the wind.

When our squad is fully fit - we look the business, when we have a few injurys we cant cope - simples

We were winning 4 nil against hamilton and 4-0 against hibs. Old age catching up?

yeah and conceded two comical goals against Hibs. It's only the full time score you go on Stoney, no matter how tenuous your point is.
