Lost my Dad a couple of months ago and today is his birthday. Been saying since the semi that it was meant to be. Mon the fucking Dons!11 points

I read on here regularly but it's years since I posted. Anyway, one of the best Dons' days I've had, greetin' at the actual game along with a few other oldies and still buzzing. What a support and great to see that mainly comprising teens and kids. I hope they get to see a few more days like that, I'm so grateful that I have.8 points

Most of the United fans on the pitch were just kids. Had the chair hit its intended target, could have been a lot worse. Singing about hating the Huns then proceeding to act like Huns. Gads.6 points

Well if he scores against Celtic the Green Brigade are going to have an existential crisis....6 points

At 3-0 down, he'll receive a second booking for kicking the ball away. As he walks off, he slips in the steadily forming puddle of his manager's tears, landing on a water bottle which ruptures his bum crack*, putting him out of action for six years. As he lies on the ground, Rubi commandeers the phone of a willing spectator in order to take a thumbs up selfie in the foreground of the injured Hun. The image goes viral. *I'm not a medical professional6 points

Couldn't sleep very well last night and ended up getting up at 5 am this morning. Treated myself to watching the game, penalty shout out, presentation and aftermath in its entirety. It just keeps on getting better and better and something I will never tire of watching5 points

Iâve watched the penalties at least once a day pretty much. Cannot tell you how proud of the team I am, what a game. But what gets me going is the fans. The noise, the passion, the red army. What an amazing support. Iâm assuming it was a 50/50 split but the noise doesnât suggest that, our fans were outstanding. Congrats to all of you. Donât take seeing us live on a weekly basis for granted! i was finishing my 6th year at lanark grammar in 1990. Worked in John Menzies all Saturday and taped the 90 final, managed to go the whole day without hearing the score, only for the video to run out midway through the second half of extra time. canât believe that was 35 years ago. This one has been amazing, never got to see the 2014 league cup final live, watched this one on red tv with my 88 year old dad who was over here visiting. been over here full time since 1995. Ive been to pittodrie 4 times in my life, last time I think it was dean windass scoring the winner against Dundee utd in 1998. Freezing that day, surprisingly. As a fan went to most away grounds, Aberdeen when youâre a kid in lanark was a little challenging to get to. When I come home I usually see us at Motherwell, Hamilton, falkirk, killie, livi, hearts, hibs etc., been a few times to parkhead and was there when Eric black scored his hat trick, and saw us win a few times at ibrox. Very jealous of you all who get to see us in the flesh regularly, never expected to live here and be a âforeignâ fan! Amazing the optimism now with a cup win, keen to see if jimmy can move us forward. the Aussie winger is intriguing, very excited to see us pick up a 9 and 10. canât wait for signings and the new season!5 points

Nisbet or miovski and you choose nisbet. Apparently Ferguson is home sick and weve been offered him on a free. I say no, letâs get Funso Ojo back.5 points

Havenât posted about Saturday until now as I donât think I could get my head around it. An incredible day with an incredible performance by the entire team. And a tactical masterclass from Jimmy. It was clear from the start that the plan was to sit in and deny them space in the final third and other than one lucky break it worked a treat. The subs were spot on and totally changed the flow of the game, to the extent where we created the better chances in extra time. The composure of the boys on the penalties was first class and what can you say about Mitov? Absolutely brilliant gesture from him at the end of the lap of honour, giving his gloves to a young lad who had a flag with Mitovâs name on it on show all afternoon. A hero amongst heroes. I was just about to turn 10 in 1990 and Saturday was my 10yoâs first cup final, which really did make the day even more special. Iâve warned her she might be approaching middle age by the next time we win one but letâs hope not!5 points

Way off topic lads but before thread hopefully goes back to it purpose of laughing at the Gorgie Huns I would say only reason we need Scottish players is the rules to play in Europe. Outside that as long as a player is good enough then it doesnât matter where they come from and to claim you need a core of Scottish players to succeed is plainly wrong.5 points

Massive superiority complex and misplaced arrogance. It brings out the worst in the whole population. Particularly bad are the ones who know nothing about sport. Most recently having a conversation about rugby just after the 6 nations. I made a comment which was responded to by an older English lad very confidently with "come back to me when you beat us" to which I laughed and replied "you mean like this year, or last year or the year before that." Or the dickhead my wife saw yesterday wandering down the street shouting "eng-ha lund eng-ah-lund" only stopping to stick his head in the door of the kebab shop and Turkish barbers to shout racist shite at them. Thankfully I married an Irish girl and have mates that treat it like a rivalry, same as we do. Cheering and giving me shit when we lose or have crap results (memorably the draw against the Faroes). I wanted to go to Germany and tried to convince one of these mates to come with me, he wouldn't, saying that he would have done had England not qualified but didn't want to go and have the Germans (or anyone else) associate him with the rest of his countrymen. I always like to tell them that half their team should have been missing from the final in '66 had the semi been refereed correctly, having spent 90 minutes taking turns kicking the fuck out of Eusebio (something my dad goes on about), so really the goal given that didn't cross the line just typified how corrupt that whole tournament was. In fairness the jingoism has died down a bit over the last few years and yesterday meant I got a lovely round of golf in on an empty course while the rest of England tried to drink more than three cans of cider while comparing guts and bad tattoos before seeing their team capitulate and giving their wives a slap to reassert their superiority complex and misplaced arrogance.5 points

That's like praising someone for having a better human rights record than Hitler. Have to say, though, that Hale and Murray up front for Dundee would likely see them top six. Sometimes you can even employ Steven Pressley and have everything just fall into place on the transfer front. I think he'd come to us over them, even as backup, but it depends what he wants for himself. I think England would be a bad move, don't think he's suited to the game down there.4 points

The recruitment team's job is to find the next Miovski, not bring the old one back. No easy task of course but that's the way it is and, I'd argue, should be.4 points

Holy shit, we actually did it. With about 15 minutes to go I accepted we weren't going to win it. Couldn't see a goal coming, but was weirdly calm about it. Team had defended well apart from the goal, hadn't been embarrassed like everyone expected, but I just thought we didn't have enough to topple Celtic. And then we only went and fucking equalised, looked like we might even sneak a late winner, had huge chances in extra-time and looked a different team. The moment Maeda was one-on-one and Mitov saved, you felt the luck we never seem to have at Hampden against Celtic had finally arrived. Maybe luck the wrong word - more that you need the big moments to go your way and that was a sliding doors moment right there. Even penalties, I kept thinking it's the same end (different stadium I know) that we beat Caley and it'd go well for us. I fully expected that first penalty to be saved, was such an odd feeling, was like I was watching the 2014 League Cup final again. I went past Celtic Park on my way home, couldn't resist it. They were dismantling the stage they had built to welcome back the treble winners. Party cancelled, and strangely just pockets of Celtic fans wandering about, almost like they were unable to accept they had lost. Stayed sober today but I certainly won't be finishing it in that state.4 points

I was at the game. Seat throwing I was in the fair play lower and wasn't far from where Mackenzie got hit. He was in a bad way, was down for a long time. Keskinen also got hit by the same seat but Mackenzie took the full brunt of it. He was wheeled past us. Was a lot of blood and I wouldn't be surprised if one of our fans has just put one of our own players out of the cup final. As soon as fans saw how bad it there were a lot of anger towards those in the upper deck above us. You could hear the seats getting broken above us, and had the first one not hit Mackenzie, I reckon a lot more were about to be thrown, and only his injury stopped folk. In the first half where was a lot of drinks getting thrown down on fans in the lower deck too. What that was about I don't know, but we have an element of bloody idiots in our support. We can expect the tickets for this fixture to rise significantly next season (was ÂŁ28 today) because they'll probably have to make it a category A fixture now, and put on more police and stewards, and it'll be us paying for it.4 points

Nothing is PC or whatever other shite on this forum. It was a xenophobic comment, which was called out as such. It's not a big deal. If you're (not you, personally) comfortable throwing around a xenophobic comment, then it shouldn't bother your arse too much if someone calls you out on it. It strikes me that those who say that "you can't say anything these days" want to apply that rule to others. In terms of having a good debate, I'd be interested to know what in particular makes a foreign player spineless, and what the definition of foreign is? You see, it's virtually impossible to have a debate against "spineless foreign shite" without it turning political, because it's a derogatory comment about foreigners. It's perfectly possible to have a debate about whether we have too many foreign players, and Scottish identity, which we've done on many occasions. Again, I don't think the comment was particularly egregious in context, just that it shouldn't be immune to calling out.4 points

Holy fuck You seriously couldn't make it up Always the victim https://thecsa.co.uk/scandalous-decision-on-ticket-split-i-have-written-to-ian-maxwell-this-morning/ Scandalous decision on ticket split. I have written to Ian Maxwell this morning. I said earlier that I thought Aberdeen would demand a 50/50 ticket split for the upcoming Scottish Cup Final. I thought that common sense may prevail and Aberdeen would have received around 15,000 tickets, which would have been at least a couple of thousand more than they took to the semi-final. I was quite angry when I heard the SFA decision yesterday, but I suppose not really surprised, Mr Maxwell has been no friend to Celtic during his time, even I think Celtic supported him to get the job. I have written to him this morning; the letter is below. Mr Maxwell, Chief Executive, Scottish Football Association. I think the decision taken by the SFA with regard to the ticket split for this yearâs Scottish Cup Final was a scandalous decision, and one that is a slap in the face to the supporters of Celtic Football Club, who have been a cash cow for the SFA and Hampden Park for many years. Since the 2017 season, Celtic will have played in fourteen finals, seven Scottish Cup, and seven League Cup, so counting semi-finals twenty eight appearance in total. In this yearâs Scottish Cup Semi-Final Celtic sold in excess of 37,000 tickets, Hearts reported sales of 20,000, Aberdeen 13,000 (at most), and St Johnstone somewhere around 3,000, so Celtic sold more than the other three teams put together, and received 25% of the profit. Just imagine Mr Maxwell if St Johnstone had managed to beat Celtic in the semi-final to play Aberdeen in the final, you wouldnât have been able to give away more than 30,000 tickets. Now in the final every Aberdeen supporter who attended the semi-final should be guaranteed a ticket, while around half of the Celtic Supporters who attended the semi-final will be denied the opportunity to get a ticket, is that a fair solution to the problem that is Hampden Park, you could have played the Final at Murrayfield, Celtic would still have sold at least 40,000, Aberdeen would probably be around 15,000. Dave Cormack claimed if the semi-final had been at Peterhead they would have sold their 20,000, well let me tell Mr Cormack this, we visit Aberdeen on Wednesday night of May 14th, there will not be 20,000 Aberdeen fans in attendance that night, although heâll probably pull the stroke of guaranteeing all in attendance a Cup Final Ticket. Finally, Mr Maxwell your tenure as head of the SFA has been underwhelming to say the least, imagine if the SFA was run as well as Celtic FC, maybe you wouldnât need to milk the hand that feeds you so regularly. I also wonder if your favourite team that play in Govan had not got put out of the Cup by Queens Park, and were contesting the final, would Aberdeen be receiving 20,000 tickets? I very much doubt it. I wonât be holding my breath, or wasting my valuable time waiting on a reply from you. Regards, Joe OâRourke, General Secretary, Celtic Supporters Association.4 points

Technically, my 100% record of always being right is still intact as we didn't sell 21,000, but I shouldn't have doubted our support, and I apologise to the 1,200 fans who could have missed out on a ticket if the board had done what they often do and read my posts before making important decisions.4 points

For me itâs the other way round. I find that if Morris is up against a pacy full back he canât easily get the better of at the first time of trying, heâll retreat into his shell and not bother trying unless he gets a head start. Keskinen never seems to let failure bother him. If it doesnât work first time, heâll keep going at it. End product isnât always there, but heâs still usually the player on the pitch most likely to produce something from nothing. If he can find consistency in his output, heâll be a multi-million pound player.4 points

Emotional day for myself, really bad week with this condition. Been in / out of bed all week. Fuck this MS/MOGAD shite. Yup, had to miss the semi-final due to this bloody disease, watched on the TV and got very emotional, really thought those minks would steal it until the 2nd red card. But when that goal went in, I hope a few other older fans had a tear in their eyes. Fingers crossed I be okay for the final.4 points

Certainly seems to have a high opinion of his talents. https://archive.ph/K1DI2 âIt gave the gaffer a headache, and it came to a point now where they went into his office, and were like: âWe need Jeff to stay to help us win the league â so drop one of us, so he can start a game.â âBut Derek McInnes was very superstitious, so he wanted to keep it the same, where Iâd come on after 60 or 70 minutes. We would always win doing that, so he felt like there was no reason to change that.â4 points

I check here every day and really appreciate the interaction. Given I live overseas, I donât have anyone to talk to about Aberdeen, although I do have a couple of yanks and two Brazilians I work with in my EPL fantasy league who have all shown interest in the dons and now follow our scores. My endless venting has made it impossible for them to ignore us. anyway, I talk to myself here half the time and occasionally reply to my own posts but who gives a shit really. Appreciate you all contributing!!4 points
