Kari Arnason

ABERDEEN FC this afternoon won their fight to sign Icelandic international Kari Arnason.

The Aberdeen team faced competition from at least one club in England for the 28-year-old former Plymouth Argyle player.

But Aberdeen FC boss Craig Brown beat them and Arnason will officially become a Dons player on Monday after undergoing a medical at Pittodrie.

Signing a 1 year deal with us. Can't say that does us any good though  :-\

Not in the long term, but happy enough with him as a short term solution.

Deal has now finally been completed. Not sure if he will feature tomorrow but he has been training with the squad and played in a couple of the friendlies last week so can't be that short of fitness.

Its a Don Deal

Within the last minute Aberdeen have completed the signing of Kari Arnason.

All the paperwork has been signed and he will be officially unveiled at a press conference shortly.

Mawene and Arnason could be the 'ardest pairing in the league?

That's what i was just about to say. Makes a change having 2 solid centre backs in the team  :thumbsup:

Welcome aboard (again) Kari ! Fingers crossed this is another CB masterstroke :thumbsup:

Quite like CB's policy:

Nae shitebags.

In the last couple of years I've read the likes of well and hearts fans complain about us kicking them off the park (yes really), so it'll be interesting to see how they react this season  :violin:

might take a few games for the new boys to gel, but with another 2 or 3 players we'll have the best team for a fair while.

was just thinking this.

If brown can somehow pick up the flair striker he's mentioned as well as a left back and left winger even on loan we will have the makings of a very strong team.

Eassy tiger. Think we will get one of them and that will be our lot.

Is it just me that thinks Kari looked much better in midfield and hopes that he's deployed there?

Eassy tiger.

Not a phrase any father wants to hear you saying to his son!!!!! >:(

'You are as tight as a tiger' would be much worse.

Surely you could use Foster in one of those positions?

I like how RedWeb reckon they had the story up within a minute of the signing!  ;D

I take it we're assuming Consi at left back as things stand?

I see according the EE, we're going to see more Icelandic players at the club now  ::)

As long as they're as good as Thor Christiansen.  ::)

Or Haraldur Ingolfsson  ::)

or Eidur Gudjohnsen  ::)

How will they fit in with all the Americans, South Africans and Germans we're getting in through our other links?

You missed out the Spaniards from Espanyol.
