Site performance

Hi all,

I've moved DonsTalk onto a temporary server in New Zealand whilst we do some maintenance work on the main site over the next month or so. Can you all let me know if you spot any abnormalities or speed issues on the site ?

That'll refresh your browser cache.

Everytime I seem to post it seems to take a while for the website to realise I've posted something. Not sure if this is a server issue your side or my side though  :-\

Aye, there's a couple of issues with the hosts of the server at the moment. They're triallling a new traffic-shaping device but have their old traffic-shaping device switched on at the same time as their tests. Think of running a cup of flour through TWO sieves at the same time instead of just one. That's the reason why things are a little bit slow at the moment.

Should be resolved within the next week or so when they switch off the old shaping device.

Controversial!  ;D

I even went on the hat for 2 secs out of my sheer bewildered state.

Won't be doing that again no matter what!

ps. guess who the 1st post I saw was by and what site they were taking the piss out of?

Begins with an 'M' and ends in a 'inijc'. That's the only clue I'm giving.

Anyone else having problems trying to use the site? I'm getting time out issues over the last 48 hours.

Is anyone looking at this?

I'm having problems from home and work, it keeps timing out and half the time I don't get logged in as it is so slow.

Are you all using the latest verion of Firefox?

I am, is that getting the blame?

Latest Firefox keeps crashing at home and I've re-installed an old version about 3 times now.

I don't really have any problems with any other sites but I'm using the latest version of Firefox at home and at work.

It currently seems to be okay now though.

Wasn't like this under Calderwood.

CBMG.

(I'm having no issues with Firefox 3.6.12)

I had to do the same at work.

Latest FireFox is a bit buggy.

The most annoying one is when you open a page and it opens a Download dialogue box to download the page.

Seems to be slow one what I would guess are HTTP responses which might be a result of their new anti crashy thingy.

Not many issues so far, one or two wee bugs that seem to have been sorted out with an update recently.

Site feels really slow tonight.  Pages are taking ages to load and sometimes don't even load fully.
