A bit late to the party but I read Tresspasses recently as saw author st Edinburgh Book Festival a couple of years ago and noticed that it was coming as a series.

Wasn't overly enthusiastic about the book but will probs watch on tv at some point - didnt really get the connection between them from the pages.

Onto the final episode of stranger things. The wife took the boys off for a nap so managed to knock two off, hopefully get through the finale over the next week 😂

Hadn't realised it was that type of show.

Finished Stranger Things & feels like I started watching it in the 80s

I’ve no idea if I enjoyed it or not. It’s great to look at but there’s just so many things wrong with it at the same time

Kids in America wearing Fall T-Shirts? Fuck off

Willing to suspend your disbelief for the Upside Down, Demogorgons and the Mind Flayer but when it comes the popularity of Manchester bands in Mid West America in the 80s, that's where it falls down?

As does the kids rooms being decorated with movie posters and memorabilia which wouldnt have been available.

Cynic in me suspects a mid 20s intern was told to research the 80s and decided Youtube and tiktok were the best sources

Binge watched the first The Night Manager series last night

Although I watched it when originally released (2016 ?? ), I was surprised just how little of it I remembered.

Excellent evening's viewing. Series 2 will have to go some to surpass it.

Watched the first two episodes of the new series and it's not bad at all.

I might have to rewatch too. No idea what happened despite really enjoying it.

But might just tread the Wiki synopsis to see if that jogs my memory

Thanks for reminding me of that one, had forgotten it was on the list to watch with the wife.

Just finished Run Away with James Nesbitt & Minnie Driver

That is the worst bit of television I’ve ever seen. It looks like it was written and performed by a 1st year drama class. Worth a watch just to see how bad it is

It wouldn't happen to be one of Channel 5's long line of dreadful 'gritty dramas' would it? They churn out crap that surpasses the crapness of Hallmark Christmas movies (that said, I love a Hallmark Christmas movie)

Netflix pick up hundreds of these types of things from all over the world. It's probably around 10% hit rate on Netflix for me. Almost anything on the "Top 10 in the UK" lists is pish too. I'm quite bad for watching something just because I started it too.

That’s exactly how we ended up watching it. I can’t stop thinking about how shite it was. I was at Darvel, QOS, 9-0 & Queens Park and I think watching that was worse

Nothing happened at Darvel, remember?

Small Prophets

Latest comedy/drama from Mackenzie Crook, who did the brilliant The Detectorists.

In one word...Genius

Available to watch on the iPlayer and worth the license fee alone.

Hoping that this makes it across the time zones and hemispheres to NZ, heard good things. We’ve not long finished watching slow horses (when in the next series out?), just had other things to watch until fairly recently. Loved it, especially since a reasonable chunk of it was filmed near an old place of work. A different time and life!

I found the last season a bit disappointing. Maybe I was just getting jaded.

Paul Heaton @ Belladrum 2025.

Om BBC Alba just now. Top tunes. The new Scottish lassie is a very good replacement for Jacqui Abbot. Vocal is spot on.

Was the weakest of the lot so far, I’d agree with that.

Could be the last one?

Just finished watching Breaking Bad for the first time.

Such a good series, but in my opinion,  too many episodes.

Could easily have trimmed it by around a dozen episodes

It'll be Better Call Saul next for us. The loons said it's better than Breaking Bad.

Netflix - Hunters.

As expected from a Hollywood production it tends towards glorifying the Jews.

Decent enough though if you ignore the propaganda and just take it for what it is. A detective series.

Recommended.
