  • I'm very glad that I can watch the Dons most weeks and then switch off to all other football (Scotland aside). I do watch the occasional game on the telly (rarely a whole game), mainly the BBC Friday

Am I right in thinking that every single Premiership team has taken something from Pittodrie this season - except Hearts? Had they won at Pittodrie earlier in the season, they'd already be champi

I reckon it will stay as is.

Maybe with united and st J's swapping places, but yeah can't see much changing.

Hibs beating Well 1-0 at the mo.

Sounds like some game, 4-3 well win. They have a bit of a record of high scoring games at Fir Park don't they?

7 goals in one game? You have to go back 6 games or 8 leagues games to have seen that many goals at games involving afc  :o

btw over 8,000 there last night

....ah of course the first game was abandoned when the flood lights went on fire, what price last night?

Was Mizer at the game like? I know it's only about an hour away from his Dundee home but that's taking the piss!

Edit** It was £10 & £5 and free entry vouchers.

Cant see the price on the well site, but the main story (I joke you not) is about a Cash Converters opening in Motherwell

http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2012/02/23/cash-converters-opens-in-the-town/

Cash Converters, proud sponsors of the Steelmen, have opened up their brand new store right here in Motherwell.

Come on down to 42 Brandon Parade South and check out the in store offers and promotions.

The management and playing staff are due to appear in store shortly – watch out for that announcement soon.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Steelmen? More like Binmen!

What a first half in the north london derby! Spurs took a 2-0 lead and Arsenal have levelled it with two very good goals before half time. More of the same in the second please!

Edit:

5-2 Arsenal now, they have been rampant in the second half! Even Walcott has scored a couple of goals.

Kev McNaughton currently beating Liverpool 1-0 in the League Cup Final.

It has, thoroughly enjoyable match.

what a surprise

Kenny Miller continues to bottle it when it really matters

Question - Why is it you can hold onto the ball on the ground as if yer playing rugby to time waste without punishment yet kicking it as little as 5 yards away gets you a yellow card?

Thats was talking the piss! Ref should have booked him.

fuck sake miller. Yer keeper pulls off one of the best penalty saves of recent memory and you shaft him

The rule says that if you kick the ball away you'll get booked. It's a rule that's been on the go for years and years. The players are aware of it. If players are still stupid enough to do it they'll get booked. The rule doesn't say you can't hold on to the ball so by the letter of the law (which it's the ref's job to enforce) Carragher didn't commit a bookable offence. Simple. Hope this has cleared it up for everyone who just can't get their heads round it.

I would, however, be quite happy to see that sort of thing be specifically outlawed too to make it punishable by a booking. You'd see keepers get booked for it all the time.

Annoys me how folk seem to think Liverpool should be embarrassed about this cup win. Liverpool beat the better teams to even reach the final and outplayed Cardiff for the whole game.  If it wasn't for their keeper it would have been a one sided affair.

I was pleased to see Super Kev play so well.

From good old Wikipedia

the offence of "unsporting behaviour" may be used to deal with most events that violate the spirit of the game, even if they are not listed as specific offences.

Pish, min. The precedent is set by weak referees who don't book for it. Although again I concede that in my opinion they should. Especially late in a game.

But the precedent is time wasting = kicking the ball away?

Got the Italy USA game live here.......

HT

USA very solid in defence but not a lot else to offer, Italy look in control but not very exciting.

I would get yer odds on an 0-0 when Scotland play here

I see Dempsey won it for them.

Was at Wembley for the England - Holland game, Holland dominated it after the first 10 mins when stekelenburg looked a bit suspicious. Great finishes for the Dutch goals.

Almost a very embarrassing result at Wembley for Holland!

Think he always looks suspicious; not a great keeper at all.

When he first broke through the Ajax side, I thought he was fantastic, genuinely another vdS, but it's bizarre, since then his progress seems to have stalled. I was not convinced by him at all last night. Although to be fair, some of his defenders passing the ball back at million miles an hour from 8 yards away doesn't help.
