swaddon Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 If it's on, the Dons will travel to the home of the mouse-sized lice to give the PJMs a good spanking. It takes place on Wednesday 11th February, kicking off at 1945 hours. I fancy us to benefit from our recent break and win 2-0. Quote
blinlemon Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 If Those Who Want To BE Us defend like they did in the final throes of their hilarious Easter Road debacle in midweek, we could be in luck. It’s their cup final, after all. Quote

Jute Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 From what the United fan in work is saying they are expecting they will get today’s game played but with weather forecast not much chance of our game on Wednesday being on. Quote

Their game today just called off. If forecast to be believed, the Wednesday night game must be a doubt. What's our record for most postponed games in a row? Must have been worse, back when our winters were really cold. Quote
wee toon red Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 It’s time football became a summer sport in Scotland. Quote

swaddon Posted February 7 Author Report Posted February 7 In the 1981-82 season, there was no proper fitba between the middle of December and the end of January. AFC Heritage says we played Hearts in a friendly during that time, as well as Norwich away and Benidorm away in friendlies. Fergie must have fancied a break in the sun that week. 1 Quote

I've just looked at that season on AFC Heritage. In April 1964, we played seven games, all but one of which were away from home. And we lost the home game (0-2 to Clyde). Also, the following season, we played Dundee on New Year's Day, then faced St Johnstone the following day. And today's footballers complain they have no rest between games. 1 Quote

TheDonbytheDee Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 December 2010, only three games played, all away. January 2011 looked normal and then we had 6 home games during February, with no away days. Quote

That era though was the bleakest I remember being as a Dons fan for 50ish years. The Raith Rovers cup game being the pinnacle. We spent Xmas in a chalet up in Aviemore. - 20oC outside, heating on full blast but couldnt get the place warmer than 17oC Quote
swaddon Posted February 9 Author Report Posted February 9 Any word on whether this is going to be on or not? Quote

Ajja Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 Surley after the overnight rain they’ll be able to make a decision. Of course they’ll have an official ready and in the City and definitely won’t have to get someone to drive from Dumfries to make the call. Quote

They are calling it off 5 minutes after your train leaves Haymarket. Just accept it. 2 Quote

TheDonbytheDee Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 It's dry in Aberdeen this this morning. First trip to work in weeks with no rain coming down. Hopefully the same in Dundee and we get this game out of the way tonight. Quote
