Aberdeen v Kilmarnock

On the basis that we've not lost a league game since I started doing match threads on here, I'm carrying on.

The Dons host Kilmarnock on Sunday at Pittodrie. The high octane football action starts at 3 pm.

I fancy us to win 2-0.

Prediction - Liked bits of what I saw last night, good spells of passing and movement.More of the same please, could be a good game to try the much asked for 2 up front

Proper fitba

Play like we did last night and we win no problem.

A big ask having Armstrong play again Sunday, as he is struggling with two games a week, but I suspect he will.

I suspect not much line up changes from last night.

PTSD moment that.

Another Saturday and nae Dons match to look forward too.

Can't afford the time or money for another seven hour round trip after Thursday and ahead of Prague on Wednesday, so afraid I'm out of this one and leaving myself wide open for the part time supporter accusations 😉

I hinna been to Pittodrie in 22 years, so I'm not even part time.

Scott Booth scored for us last time I was there. That's how long ago it was.

I'll take any kind of win 2bh but it would be nice to get a convincing one and up the momentum a wee bit.  The red tinted specs podcast had a Killie fan on and he sounded thoroughly depressed with all things KFC which bodes well.

Blimey, I’ve got a while to go to reach that. 8.5 years and counting for me. Just not a feasible place to get to when we’re over.

Anyway, just hope we manage to get a win here. Would be great to pump them and really get the confidence going after a few gritty results. Especially given how tight the league is, confidence will be key. Wonder if we see Dante back for this one? I am surprised Armstrong has played as much as he has, regardless of his obvious lack quality, he’s no spring chicken.

22 years ago, Pele Paterson was in the hot seat. Did it scar you that much?  😂

You never get the urge to make the pilgrimage up to our Mecca of the north? (Nae bingo jokes please).

I'm assuming you are still in Englandshire and not further afield.

The reason I have never left Aberdeen, to live further afield, is our bloody club.

I was asked once to move abroad and that was my reason for not going. A 100% genuine answer.

I wouldn't even class myself as that big a dandy and much more committed supporters than me, but I couldn't live without my regular fix. Would be easier coming off crack.

As long as the heart is in the right place, then that is what counts.

This ❤️

I left three months before Gothenburg, have returned at least five or six times every season, have brought up two boys in the west of Scotland to follow The Dandies all over Scotland & Europe.

I feel blessed to have brought my boys up correctly and have memories of following Aberdeen with them I will take to my grave

Stand Free lads

Feeling a bit teary typing that 😪

10-0 victory and we’ll jump above Hibs.

I was run out of town and daren't go back. A long story.

Joking aside, I just haven't gone back to Aberdeen for many reasons. The only Dons game I have been to since then was a 1-1 draw with Conference strugglers Tamworth in 2010. That was a waste of a tenner.

Has Clarkson played with Adil? Almost every discussion seems to be about them fighting for the same position, but if we'll be resting Armstrong why nae put Clarkson in his place? Get an old-fashioned 5-3-2 going.

I get the feeling I would get a start over Clarkson at the moment. That's how far out of the picture he appears.

Think he and Palaversa are both on the way out of the club, for whatever reason.

Appreciate the N/E the older I get.As for Pittodrie, still get a buzz going into the ground(often changes quickly like).

Looking forward to the game tomorrow, feels like were getting close to giving someone a jolly good thrashing.....then the game starts

He was, but been back training a good few weeks  now

A few rumours of his attitude stinking the place out, but only rumours.

Our midfield is relatively weak, so to not use him or Clarkson much for rotation purposes at the very least, is quite damning.

Have to trust the manager on these calls.

Aye i would not be surprised if they already had moves lined up.

Hoping for a routine win with eyes on Celtic Park. We need to be able to rotate the squad tomorrow without slip ups, do same on Thursday and be fully fit and balls out for Celtic. Would love to see the big Icelander get a run out, maybe if we are 3 goals to the good by HT.

Ed Munster won’t be in the dugout tomorrow either after his red against them. Not sure if that’s a disadvanatage or an advantage.

I think polvara has done enough in recent weeks to move ahead of palaversa in the playing order, plus shinnie Armstrong and adil are too. Saying that, I’m not fussed if polvara doesn’t renew his contract. Was actually surprised we jumped so quickly to extend palaversa’s contract, but I’d certainly cash in palaversa and clarkson asap, they are prob the (only) two we have who would bring in some reasonable money.
really neeed to invest in legit center mids, obviously three oldies, and still not convinced adil is worth 1.5m.

I think Clarkson has a decent enough value, not so sure about Palaversa. Don't expect to get too much for either, but far less for Palaversa, as if being honest hasn't exactly been a consistent performer in his time with us.

His penalty in the cup final will ensure his status with us though, so wouldn't have been all bad, whatever happens with him.

The way we play, our midfield is key. A lot of graft expected from them and that's why I think it would have been good to have seen Palaversa and Clarkson more in recent weeks, just to keep that area of the park fresh, but the players currently involved have stepped up and played well.

I am hopeful if seeing more roation, if not today, then surely on Thursday night, which is meaningless, bit fit aboot the money for a win or a dra?

Three points today and three points at the tattiedome, next weekend, would be my own preference.

I haven't been since January 2019 and I'm in East Lothian 🤣

I do keep meaning to come up and make a weekend of it then life and fixture changes get in the way.

I have a Christmas afternoon tea today so oot as usual but hoping for a good solid win to keep us closing gap on 5th.

3 nil Nisbet, Clarkson & Karlsson

Match day and thankfully the wind has calmed down. I went out for my walk yesterday afternoon and was nearly blown over twice.

Confident for the points this afternoon, but not overly so. I've been scarred enough over the years, never to be overly confident.

The lad Watson being out for them, will hopefully help us, but with dracula not in their dugout, they might fancy it more.

After yesterdays results, a win would help consolidate our top six position nicely and also would see us with 10 points, from our previous four games, which I would have snatched your hand off for before hand.
