Bring a whole to meaning to playing for the stiffs. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago How quickly does red tv put up the full European game? I know we only get the audio coverage live, do they put up video right after the game? Quote

The away trip to Livi in the league this coming weekend is far more important in the grander scheme of things. No harm in resting him both mentally and physically. Quote

I'd leave it up to the player if possible. Depending on the type of guy he is, and the closeness of his relationship with his grandfather, then he might be even more determined to play. Obviously, don't know the first thing about his situation, but it could be that his grandfather was a big influence on his career, or whatever, and he might feel it fitting to go out and perform in his memory. It'd be a shame to take that decision from him unnecessarily. 2 Quote

Taking his personal situation out of the equation here I would still be resting him and numerous others tonight as this game is pretty meaningless and the trip to Livi on Sunday much more important Quote

wee toon red Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago I'm curious as to the school of thought that the Livi game is more important than this one. We're not winning the league (this season...) and we're clearly not getting relegated, so if beating Livi is to have any relevance it must surely be to get as high up the league table as possible, to... qualify for Europe? Just to "not prioritise" it anyway? Doesn't compute. Quote

Even if you think the chances of qualifying from the league phase isn't going to happen, based on last season's prize money then just winning tonight earns us £350,000. 1 Quote

I also think it would be a nice shot in the arm to defy the odds and not finish bottom of the CL table. After the poor start to the season it would be a nice two fingered salute to our external critics. That said a win against Noah and a point against Strasbourg would hopefully be enough to keep us in the mix for the Prague game. If we could go to the CR with something to play for I think that would be a solid enough achievement given the draw we got. 1 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago I also think that the likes of karlsson and lazetic came here knowing European games will get them exposure. Dont think karlsson is eager to save himself for livi away. Although could be wrong. 1 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Posted yesterday, anyone know when red tv will put the full match up for watching today? We dont get it live and I’m considering eating thanksgiving dinner then watching the game after! Quote

swaddon Posted 4 hours ago Author Report Posted 4 hours ago For some reason, I've now got the fear about this game. Probably because of the BBC Sport article about FC Noah. I think it'll either be a great European night at Pittodrie like Copenhagen 2007, or a humiliating home defeat like Zalgiris Vilnius 1996 or Sigma Olomouc. Quote

I’d imagine the TV rights preventing Red Tv airing it live in OD’s region (Orlando?) will dictate timing of replay also. Not so sure normal rules apply when it comes to Europe. Thanksgiving - marshmallows in with your dinner. Fit’s at a aboot? Quote

For me the league is always of way higher importance. It is our bread and butter. Only a an opinion though and if you disagree, then fine. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Stuck at work and not going to make the game. £29 wasted on a ticket. I won't even be able to get it to anyone before kick off. 1 Quote

Crow about getting into Europe then put out a second string to focus on EPL tv money. I hope I feel differently next year (should we get there). I just feel it’s too early for us, both domestic league and us still too unstable. I’d love to share your optimism that ‘clearly we’re not getting relegated’ though. Quote

Fair weather fan, bloody hate November. I always think we have really poor floodlights. Noticed again on Sunday, just gloom in comparison to other stadia - maybe just me? Quote

Kowalski Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Clarkson must be back in favour, he’s appeared in a number of the social media posts ahead of tonight. 2 Quote
wee toon red Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Even if the squad isn't quite deep enough, we've got 20+ games left to compensate for that, we're running out of European games to win - and earn a shit ton of money from - so I'd rather we prioritised those. As Orlando says, a few of our squad are highly likely to only be here because of the European games so it's important we give them proper attention. 2 Quote
