It would be good for him to go back to Sweden and his family.

Normally I'm glad when we punt a manager that isn't performing, but I feel strangely bereft at Jimmy leaving. I really wanted it to work out for him, especially after the way he started. It's partly his fault it didn't happen, and partly the players.

Same, thought we could stumble along til the Jan window to at least plug a hole or 2 for the remainder of the season.I think yesterdays game convinced me it wasnt working.Think any new manager would struggle to get a decent tune out of this current, still unbalanced squad

should've parted ways end of last season

But that cup win has also cost us the chance to possibly be involved in a very winnable title race

totally unprepared at outset of this one also

By all accounts, the players liked him, but thought he was too soft on those who stepped out of line, and ultimately that loses you a bit of respect in the dressing room.

Yesterday raised alarm bells. It's been poor for a while, but I kinda still felt he was slowly getting his head around things, but it was such a calamity at Falkirk that it was hard to make a case for him beyond the weekend.

But I'm glad he left before I started to get so rattled by performances I began to dislike him. A throughly decent man who led us to the Scottish Cup, but hopefully we've made the right decision.

I echo a lot of the words already spoken in that I'm really sad this is how it has turned out. From that POV it certainly helps that his last game was a narrow defeat (however limp dicked the performance was) away to Falkirk and not a papping off der hun at mordor 2bf.   If there's any truth in rumours and he ends up at AIK that's a bonus as we likely will have had to pay minimum compensation, if any.

So, moving forward, this is the first big test for LP.  It will be interesting to see just how much free reign he gets with the new manager position given how hands on Cormack likes to be.   My hope is though that fabled black book of his provides some candidates that none of us have heard of at the very least.

I had really hoped he could turn it around. I like the guy, but results weren't there with no sign of changing.

Thanks for the cup and that initial winning streak Jimmy. Sorry it didn't work out and good luck in the future

Think that’s the feeling of most. Nice guy, just didnt work out.

The drones online are calling for the boy fae Motherwell to be appointed. 20-odd games into his first season??? No the fuck thanks.

I’d be more than happy to look at him tbh. He’s done everything (& more considering resources) that JT was supposed to do.

He’s been involved in management since 2015, and been a manager since 2018 so its a bit more than 20 games, though I appreciate you’re talking about his time in Scotland.

If he leaves us for a bigger job so be it, that’s how fitba works. Would mean he’s been a success here first though.

Isn’t Fergie the last manager to leave us & move onto bigger things?

Be nice to have another…

Scott Booth until the end of the season. Player/manager.

Absolutely not.  Clueless when he was at ochilview. Loved the guy and he was great helping the youth coaches but on the pitch it was a disaster.

Really sorry it didn't work out for Jimmy but it was probably time. The first few months of last season were a thrilling time to support the Dons and obviously May was incredible, so he should leave with his head held high and with the best wishes of all Reds.

Seemed like a genuinely nice guy and in no way have the same feelings towards him as Robson or Goodwin but Jimmy's time was well and truly up.

Lets make no mistakes about his time with us, he got off to an incredible start, albeit very fortunate in several of those games, but when Celtic pumped us 6-0 in the Semi then the wheels well and truly came off and we never recovered, instead we fumbled through the next 14 months with minimal highs and serious lows with the one notable exception being the cup final win in May which will never be forgotten.

It's not unreasonable to state that you'd be hard pressed to name 5 games that we actually played entertaining, attacking football for more than brief spells and for a manager that we had for 80 games then that is a damning indictment of his time with us.

I can only hope that Lutz has his man already lined up to take advantage of this Jan window as a vast majority of the current squad have proved time and time again that they have been a waste of a wage. We need serious recruitment just to ensure we get European football next year through our league placings and that should be the sole aim this season for whoever comes into the hotseat although another Scottish Cup victory would be very welcome also.

Thing is from what I have heard from a mate who is an agent Thelin had no part in discussions for players. Everything was carried out with DOF and head of recruitment. Not having coach in place in this system should not prevent recruitment occurring.

Its seems a weird way of doing things for a manager IMO.We all notice traits in people over time, that help us build up a profile of what sort of people we want to work with.Would have thought there would be more to it than being told "heres one of those left sided full backs you were looking for (or we think you need").?

So he wasn’t involved in getting the likes of Karlsson, Jensen and Nielsen in?

Yep very sad as we all hoped it would work for Jimmy. Clearly it wasn't and it's best he leaves now. Listening to him after the Falkirk game I thought he's lost the dressing room. He will be forever remembered for giving a whole generation of fans the Scottish Cup. For the first time however I simply have no idea who I want in as manager. I do know who I don't want though.

No idea on those 3. Guessing they were on his request but that’s a guess as I said. Only know what I was told about negotiations on others.

I seem to remember the Portuguese lad who is our Director of Recruitment previously working for Thelin in Sweden so would be surprised if Thelin had zero involvement in transfers. There was some sort of link to a consulting company with links to Ghana if I remember correctly.

What about Yengi

I'd be concerned if Thelin OK d that move

&  concerned if he didn't

I don't think Yengi was a terrible signing. In that I can see what some might have thought we were getting. A unit who is reasonably mobile and might be able to cause defences problems in a Josh Magennis type fashion. Ideal for a third striker to bring on when needing a bit of luck. Unfortunately he looked terrified of being on a football pitch.

Obviously, if he was signed as a starter and on large wages, then that's a big problem.

He should have been punted on loan immediately, as his confidence - if he ever had any - was obliterated the moment he set foot on the pitch.
