Quite possibly the biggest brain freeze i've seen.
It was ridiculous Bobby.
-
Not at all, we were all singing up til then really.
and on that note incidentally... Derek Young you fucking spastic.
Honestly Bobby I just saw a cross and then the ref giving a pen. I never showed my displeasure at the decision as everyone around me seemed to accept it. Hearing across several forums that it was a stonewaller.
-
Indeed.
Dunno if that's sarcasm or not Bobby!
I was sining until the pen. Left at half time after getting hassle from a coupke of our fans while being close to tears, I was that embarassed.
-
They could all die tomorrow, I'd pay my respects and afterwards I'd be not fussed.
-
We were all singing until the penalty.
Dunno how you never heard it.
-
slightly worried that the 'budget may not stretch' lines are being trotted out.
Surely Capaldi for LB is a priority? why are we paying Myles Anderson if money is tight and he's (apparently) not going to feature in 1st team??
And wasn't broon saying he thought a wide player was his priority?
fit the flock min??
A wide player was his priority until he lost one of his first picks for the season.

What did Lennon do?
-
More to the point what's it got to do with Maguire?

I think it's ridiculous that even slight contact can warrant a penalty. Shit like that happening makes the game so much less appealing to me. It disturbs me that folk are defending Berbatov here. It was blatant cheating. I haven't and won't defend any of "my own" players when they do the same so I reserve the right to moan about it when it goes against a team that I want to see win.
And Bobby - You're right. But Berbatov wasn't moving at speed. He'd stopped and ran out of options hence his trip to the floor. Rules are rules and I believe the rules say no simulation. Berbatov simulated.
What are you on about defending him? All I've seen is Bobby saying how do you know how slight a touch it was and how much it would for Berbatov to be knocked off balance. As far as I can see everyone has said it was a very soft penalty/not at all.
So we'll say he got it wrong. What about the other penalty decision Webb got wrong when Kelly (I think) fouled Giggs in the box?
-
There's a lot of comments from Liverpool fans that Webb cost them the game but I felt Giggs should have had a pen. Webb didn't give that.
-
Yes I said that... I've still got no idea what you're going on about here:
What part?
I thought it was the slight brush on Berbatov's ankle two strides earlier that sent him crashing to the deck rather than placing an arm on him? If either of those things send you hurtling to the deck you shouldn't be a footballer. It's cheating and Berbatov should be fucking embarrassed. But he doesn't have to be because his cheating got him the coveted MOTM award.
I made a comment about Torres and Gerrard cheating yet still getting motm awards.
I was under the impression it was for a 'push' the referee gave the penalty but if it's for clipping him, whether there's a lot of contact or not the original point still stands. Defenders need to be careful and Agger was not.
I haven't once said it was definitely a penalty. I've said it was very soft. Whether Berbatov has gone down easily or not the blame still lies with Agger. Going down easily isn't something that started several years ago with Lee Miller. It's happened for years and Agger needs to be more careful in future.
-
I’m not ignoring anything. I’m just unclear as to what comments you’re referring to.
As I said.. football is a contact sport. If that’s a penalty then we should get several per game. Berbatov hit the deck voluntarily. Agger’s challenge wasn’t enough to send him to the deck. This is known as simulation - a bookable offence.
You said yourself is giving him man of the match after diving a good sign to the kids?
Why did he put his hands on Berbatovs back when there was no need to? If he doesn't do that then Berbatov can't go down. When I was growing up playing football I was told not to do that so I can't understand why pro's feel the need to?
-
So March - November football? Our teams that make it past Christmas have a hard enough time as it is without having to play big European games on little match practice.

He doesn't answer questions. He just sort of shuffles them away with his insanity driven rants.

what questions are these then r-tard?
I asked why flair players like Laurdrup, Jess consistently delivered.
Hell McGeady had more of an end product.

maybe you should, might give you an interesting side

somehow, bearing in mind you most likely look like your typical geeky aberdeen fan, ie greasy hair, spotty complexion and a general air of insecurity, then i refuse to believe that
Ha ha ha right enough. Or I could have got a Batman tattoo and tell tales of my high jinks on the internet as I have no life but each to their own

walking through morocco, spending a full day there and having line after line of people come up and shake my hand and ask how he's doing?
that good enough?
or how about the scores of little kids that ran away and came back with some form of Zerouali memorabilia?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
And some tidy Bulgarian 20 year old offered to suck me off because I used to have a Kiriakov shirt.
-
i know this as fact you de-generate, so care to try and explain yourself?
Go on then, send me a link proving he's a footballing hero in Morocco.
I loved Zero when I was little. then I grew up, understood the game and realised he was average at best.
Winters > Zero. Sad truth.
-
he didnt make it?
17 caps for Morocco by the age of 27 is no mean feat
his countrys hero and second only to his predecessor, Mustapha Hadji
id say thats not bad going

its an argument thats been done to death already, but ill re-iterate
flair players do NOT produce every game, they cant
the ones who do, ie ronaldo and messi, they are worth circa 100m
the lower echelon, ie Nani, Zerouali, Arshavin and such like dont, but you have them in your team because theyre capable of something noone else in your team is
Why didn't Zero make it then? Why was he consistently a sub and why did he consistently fail to deliver while players like Laudrup, Jess and even Neil fucking McCann produced it nearly every week.
-
He was talismanic there, so yes, he was a brilliant player for Hearts who have come the closest to breaking Old Firm dominance in recent years. In addition, he played a decent amount of Champions League games and games for Scotland. If we are talking about brilliant players in the SPL, then I think most rational thinkers would have have Hartley up there...
Exactly.
im not touching this post with a barge pole
i like you SOTR, a lot as it happens so im leaving this be
my love for Zerouali, my ill-feeling towards speaking ill of the dead and my general acceptance that i sometimes let my passion for circumstances close to my heart, take over my brain and result in a vitriolic spiel towards the OP, leads me to my conclusion
Eh? Saying that someone was an average footballer is hardly speaking ill of the dead? It's like going to a funeral and being told that a half decent sparkie was fantastic at his job because he's no longer here.
-
I don't see how going to games makes you more qualified to judge a players ability?
Performance and effort certainly but most if not all on here have seen Maguire in enough games to know what he can bring to the table.

Seriously though, all I could hear around me was Dons fans singing. Couldn't hear them til their fourth.
