  1. It's not the Pittodrie footprint you need to paste onto it though, it's the footprint from a new modern stadium. Unless AZ Alkmaar's stadium can fit on it then gtf.
  2. But all that is irrelevant in terms of Dundee's stadium. We're currently Pittodrie not because it's the best option, but because the council are doing their usual and we currently don't have the money to build the new ground anyway. Should Aberdeen get the money, they will leave Pittodrie, and likewise Dundee will leave Dens Park should they find the money.
  3. I think that's a fantastic rewriting of history. We would have been at Kingswells had Scotland got Euro 2008. We would have been at Loirston had the council not pulled a fast one. And we'd be currently building Kingsford if we had £60m a few years ago. Again, what is their alternative? The stadium is a shitheap. Pittodrie would be a massive upgrade on what they currently have. Waiting isn't going to do anything for them.
  4. Why? A new stadium with increased capacity, better facilities, more commercial opportunities, and going by the artists' impression it's a huge upgrade on Dens Park. But there's not a pub nearby.. As you know I chatted to Dave Cormack for a good hour in the summer, we're pals now, and he assured me the stadium is on its way. He's delivered Cormack Park. He's delivered Graeme Shinnie. He's delivered Jimmy Thelin. He'll deliver the new stadium, with a pub nearby.
  5. Cheers pal, knew you didn't think I was a cunt. Yeah got a certificate and everything.
  6. When they were putting the fixtures together, how difficult would it be to say "Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren may all have play-offs on those dates. Maybe we shouldn't give one of them an eight-hour round trip in between the two games." But hey, I'm just an educated cunt.
  7. Okay so what's your suggestion they do instead? They can't build that stadium on the current Dens Park footprint.
  8. Because it appears you need a telling. That wasn't McInnes saying that though was it? Well it shouldn't have been a penalty, should it? You've basically said the same thing three times to make it look like three separate things. He's correct in saying the SPFL could have put more thought into the fixtures. I count just two complaints then. The penalty and giving Kilmarnock their longest away trip in between two play-off ties - two entirely justified complaints. If he wasn't a moaning cunt would you still not want us to rip him a new one on Sunday?
  9. It's about an eight minute drive from their current stadium. Unfortunately it's difficult to find a prime city centre location for new stadiums these days, at least theirs is very much within the city. When you look at the map of Dundee it's realistically as close as they can get to the city centre and train station. So what's their alternative? Dens Park doesn't look like it has the footprint to rebuild a stadium there. Not sure even a stadium share with Dundee United could be built on that street either. For Aberdeen, we were building at Kingsford when the council had space in the city they could give us, and have magically realised that actually the beach might work. I don't see those same options in Dundee.
  10. Where are all the examples of him constantly going on about it?
  11. We would be complaining about the same thing. He's not complaining about Aberdeen, he's complaining about the SPFL not bothering to use common sense when putting the fixtures together.
  12. Dundee's potential new stadium. Looks alright to be fair.
  13. Aye, granted, that was pish. But this is why I'll probably live longer than the rest of you - I've learned to let it go. Good luck to the big fella.
  14. Passed me by that Stefan Gartenmann has signed for Ferencvaros. Bit of a surprise that considering they're the Hungarian champions - you'd think they'd be after a better level of player than Gartenmann. That said, they're out of the Champions League (knocked out by Midtjylland, who Gartenmann was still signed with at the time, though didn't play either leg). Gartenmann has been an unused sub in both games since he signed. Good luck to him, but I wasn't keen on us signing him permanently so I see it as no loss. He's landed on his feet though - Budapest a cracking city and Ferencvaros' stadium is the type of ground you'd love to be replicated at Aberdeen beach.
  15. I should bloody well hope not. Think we were the unseeded team every time. Maybe the only time we were seeded it was Maribor who we were desperately unlucky against (goal chopped off, resulting pen missed, Stockley red). I wouldn't begrudge the man finally making it. Cos it reduces Hearts' prize money, it gives Killie more games to play on the fixture list, and it's coefficient points for Scotland. All three of those benefit Aberdeen.
  16. £3,200 to sponsor a player? For that I'd want a weekly Q&A and the player to come do odd jobs around the house.
  17. Noted: Let's use "New Firm" relentlessly before the next ga... derby. Hope Hearts lose cos don't want them getting the coins from the Europa League. Doubt they gave Aberdeen much support against Hacken last season for that same reason. But good luck to Kilmarnock. Derek McInnes I would say deserves a crack at the group/league stage.
  18. I'm no fan of Neil Lennon and would have been disgusted had Aberdeen appointed him. However, sacking him after six games, and a week after he buried his mother, is deplorable.
  19. The coefficient is fine for Aberdeen as long as it doesn't get too good or too bad. Until such time Aberdeen become good enough to realistically be able to finish in the top two, then Scotland being ranked 11th or 12th is ideal. Neither of the Old Firm have guaranteed Champions League football, but third/cup win will have guaranteed group stage football. We're currently due to finish 16th at the end of the season. We'll be down to just four European entrants. While 12th is probably out of reach, 13th - 15th at least keeps us at five teams. Denmark are 14th, so Kilmarnock knocking them out would actually be a a decent result for Scotland.
  20. The last time those four teams made the semi-final, that's how exactly how the draw panned out.
  21. Fun fact: Kevin Nisbet, when in Glasgow, is one of the many stars to frequent my gym alongside Philippe Clement, half the Glasgow Warriors team and that girl that was on Love Island. I feel I can work on a fitness programme with Nisbett to help get him into the shape the Aberdeen fans demand. Shit, my "walk 30 minutes then run for two minutes if the walk hasn't knackered you" workout ain't shifting that timber.
  22. That was my view on Kevin Nisbet two years ago at the height of his fame and he's done nothing at Millwall to change my mind. That said, he wouldn't be the worst signing to make. He's probably about as good as Sokler, who - let's be honest - is probably in the average category at the moment until he proves otherwise. While that doesn't sound like Nisbet would come in and improve us, I'd say both Sokler and Nisbet are better than Gueye and Ambrose, and therefore it would improve our options and depth, if not the starting XI. Ideally we sign someone better than all of them, but you don't unearth a Miovski every season.
  23. Ryan Duncan joining Queen's Park on loan for the season.
  24. Winning.
  25. AFAIW: Game goes ahead on Sunday. Early goal Aberdeen, open them up like a packet of crisps.
