  1. There must be loads of folk at the club who think they know enough about Turner to have made a sound judgement. A trial at Forest off the back of a good season in Northern Ireland doesn't mean he should've got a new contract here. Now if he gets a contract at Forest off the back of it that's a different story but there could be all kinds of explanations for this rumoured trial, only one of which being that the Dons have screwed up and should have kept him.

  2. Ramsay has also been nominated for the players' young player of the year, as has Connor Barron. Doig from Hibs and Abada from the Tims are the other two nominees.

  3. I see the P&J reporting again today that Goodwin won’t hesitate with a “summer rebuild”. I’m really not comfortable with all this rebuild chat, it suggests that not being relegated is getting taken for granted.

Going by the last six games St Johnstone are in better form than us and going by the last 10 it’s only Dundee (on goal difference) worse than us in the entire league. That’s relegation form right there and if the focus is on what we’re doing in the summer rather than on sorting that crap record out then I’m very, very worried.

    He has changed tactics though.

We're no longer playing McCrorie in defence and trying to play it out from the back.

We're a lot more direct going forward.

We're no longer building the team around a 36-year-old Scott Brown.

And, Saturday apart because he lacked options and Ramsay wasn't quite fit, Ojo hasn't really been in the team so we've been playing with 11 players instead of 10.

You're saying blood new guys - to be fair, he's showing a lot of faith in Connor Barron. Add in Ramsay, Mackenzie and Vicente and that's four young players. We had big games to try and get into the top six, the time to blood more youngsters is probably now in these five dead rubbers (no, we're not going to get relegated, everyone wise up).

I think to say performances haven't changed since Glass is more a reflection on the players. I think just six to seven of our current team will be first choice next season - Ramsay, Mackenzie, Hayes, McCrorie, Barron, Watkins, Vicente. Maybe Bates as potentially there's still a player there. I'd like to think he'll keep Ramirez and maybe a move won't materialise.

So worse football, same results, still no use. As said by LA-Don, shouldn’t an “upgraded” coach get more out of the same squad? Especially under the director of football and head of recruitment model, where the coach is only really being asked to coach and organise the team.

The failings this season are down to poor recruitment and poor coaching/management. We’ve changed the latter and have every right to expect better performances. Otherwise we’d have been as well keeping glass, unless someone comes out and either changes the recruitment model or tells us it’s been scrapped and we’re back to having one man in charge.

I’ve said before, none of this stuff is indicative of a club that has one single clue about what it’s doing.

  5. Is Cormack in charge of DT now as well? Site being down in the aftermath of a massively significant game kinda defeats the purpose of a forum, no?

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I laughed when I read people thinking we could go down but I’m not laughing now. It’s absolute amateur hour at the club and very, very reminiscent of that time Hibs went down under Butcher.

Airing dirty laundry in public and potentially alienating half the squad by talking about summer clear outs in fan gatherings when we’ve still got (at that point) six games to play is naive at best and incompetent at worst.

Goodwin’s getting nothing out this team that Glass wasn’t, and alarm bells are seriously ringing, and if I was him I’d be concentrating on making sure I’m not getting cleared out myself.

The reason he was never a defender was because he was a very good midfielder!

He & McCrorie should have swapped places at the start of the season and I will argue this until the end of time.

I do agree with this. Although I side with the club on the decision not to offer Considine a longer deal, the statement is an embarrassment.

Goodwin needs to learn that it's not the way things are done in Aberdeen and he shouldn't have put his name anywhere near it, whether it was his idea for the statement or someone else.

On Goodwin, I think there's a bit of respect at the way he has come in and showed he's the boss, but I wonder if he's going a bit too far. Punting Brown without really considering it, throwing Considine out to dry in that statement - a guy who has given most of his life to the club and is a fans favourite. I dunno if there is a "this is what Alex Ferguson would have done" sort of thing going on in his head, but it's a bit bull in a China shop at the moment.

I don’t think the statement had much to do with Goodwin. It doesn’t take too much imagination to link this one with the petty January statement about Jamie McGrath and conclude that it’s the man at the top behind them both.

  7. Issuing statements about any dealings with players is embarrassingly small time and shouldn't happen. Other than a tiny wee bit of "it's not us, it's him, honestly", the club gains absolutely nothing from this and it's disappointing that they've gone down this road.

It was the same with the boy from St Mirren who "couldn't handle playing for a club of this size". This kind of stuff reeks of someone taking an overly personal interest in what a bunch of clowns on the internet are speculating and isn't a good sign at all.

  8. By the sounds of things a proper clearout is under way.

Lewis, Woods, JET, Campbell, McLennan all allowed to find new clubs, McGeouch, Ojo and Consi not getting renewals.

Really not fussed about most of that lot, although I hope Dean Campbell goes on to prove Goodwin wrong as there looked to be a player in there when he first broke through, and I'm kinda sad about Consi but I'm not sure if that's just sentimentality.

Big call getting rid of so many, if Goodwin doesn't already have improvements lined up then literally anything could happen this summer, good or bad.

Really is make or break. Whilst I share some peoples confidence that hearts will get at least a point of not all three against hibs, I do not share this optimism that we can beat county. Their results haven’t been bad and not out of it. Also depends on livi only drawing with Well. Our season has been a shit storm and it would take an absolute miracle to make the top 6. Just feel we’ve left ourselves with far too much to do and rely on luck. A draw would sum up our season.

anyway, think we need to bring consi in for this, need some sort of experience at the back. God know what we can do to get Ramirez out of his shite run of form. I’d rather he didn’t leave in the summer (as rumoured). But we need to give him some service. Surely Watkins starts as well?

    out

    bed

    bed

    bed

    1-1, Ferguson

If livi beat well and we win, then we’re above well on goal difference so that game is irrelevant. Beat county and hope hibs don’t beat hearts, mathematically it’s as simple as that.

  10. Two wins for us gets us to 41 pts.

We need no more then two of the other teams to get above that.

Utd: will get at least 42 by beating Dundee.

Hibs: Unlikely. Best result for us would be them failing to beat utd.

Livi: could possibly win both games.

county: if we’re winning both games they’re not finishing above us.

    well: could win both games.

st mirren: unlikely to beat the huns.

livi v well and Arabs v hibs look like the big games but you’ve got to think two wins and it would need some very unlike things to happen to keep us out.

  11. Watkins and Considine apparently in the "matchday squad" for this one. Devlin - SHOCK - and Kennedy the only missing players, although JET isn't getting picked until he pulls his finger out. If we don't show anything tomorrow with two weeks full training and a nearly full-strength squad then it'll be worrying.

  12. Goodwillie back to Clyde on loan. Doesn’t seem to be going down too well, although apparently the Clyde fans kicked up a fuss when they heard the club had initially rejected the chance to take him back.

  13. McGhee is an absolutely insane appointment.

The Rusk guy who is going to be his assistant was actually the manager at Stockport and McGhee was his No 2. What's that all about?

Someone must be running Dundee for a laugh with the confusion over voting, Strachan working for them and Celtic and now appointing his best mate as manager. Absolute comedy.

  14. Pap horse. Not his fault he’s a pap horse but that’s what he is. Never achieved anything in his career that would merit the job, and don’t get me started on this idea that the wee boys running the club have of implementing a new structure. The first move in any revolution should be getting the board to fuck and the collection of nobody’s they employ right out with them. A fucking joke of a club these days and there’s no point anyone thinking it’s going to get any better.

Wrote that over a week ago about another club but also feels relevant right here, right now.
