That's got to hint at Langfield being off in the summer
-
Fuck me, how many forwards do Hibs need?!?!
Almost as many as they do goalkeepers by the sound of it.
-
Well said those people. McGhee isn't going anywhere til at least the close season, if he goes at all, so hopefully everyone can get behind the team for the next few games.
-
Langfield, Mulgrew, Foster, Diamond, Considine, Maguire, Kerr, Aluko, Pawlett, Marshall, Paton, Megginson, Fyvie, Grimmer.
I'll probably be in the minority by choosing to keep 14 but I reckon that group with a decent boss and a sprinkling of experienced new signings, adding in the rest of the kids coming through and we'll be grand.
-
The huns have been absolutely rank rotten in their last couple of games so I'm not all that worried about them "destroying" us.
I'm not saying that I expect us to win or anything but I'll be amazed if we get a pumping, I reckon it'll be quite a close game.
-
Still would've had to pay the old management team out of their contracts. Wish we had money to do that. Unfortunately, we've only got a multimillionnaire running the club.
I don't think Gannon ever signed a contract so I'd be surprised if they had to pay much if anything to get rid.
I'd also be very surprised if they've signed a whole new team.
-
Not surprised, and that's possibly the worst thing about it.
Indeed.
I actually don't give a fuck is sacking JC was right or if McGhee was the right replacement. We'd still be getting pumped out the cup by some absolutely shite outfit or other whoever was in charge.
I really want to be angry about tonight's result but why should I bother caring when it's clear that very few people AFC actually do?
-
Great news.
A week or so ago I was despondent.
Now, a mere couple of wins and few days later, I love the Dons again.
All part of the "fun". I suppose the winning feeling is what keeps us all interested
-
Impressive stuff. Fyvie took his goal really well and the build up for the Dazzler's was quality.
-
there is always a tinge of sadness watching these things, you inevitably think "if only we were like that now..."
Absolutely. Watching it last night I couldn't help wishing I'd been born 10-15 years earlier so I'd be able to remember the glory days
-
I'm not sure the game I watched on Alba last night is the same one that some of you were at.
I thought we played pretty well for the most part considering we are still missing at least three first choice players. You can see the influence McGhee is having as the players were attempting to keep the ball on the floor more often than not until St Mirren scored, when the lumping it forward started.
Totally agree with Glasgow Sheep though, we were (are) crying out for a striker who could have caused a bit of bother once we got to the penalty area.
I thought Kerr had a pretty good game and opened the play out well on a few occasions. Ok he doesn't find his man with every single pass but if he did he wouldn't be playing for the Dons. And Ifil is exactly what he was described as in the summer. I'd rather have a defender who is decent at the basics of his trade and who isn't much of a passer ahead of someone who is comfortable with the ball at his feet but doesn't win a header or get many blocks in.
Very, very frustrating result last night but hopefully Zander and Sone coming back, along with Miller and hopefully a new striker, will get us back on the right road.
-
That other hun cunt Bougherra will be going as well.
Sone if he gets his finger oot?
-
Pretty much. Anyone who was at the game at Parkhead in the mid 90's that was abandoned due to fog right after half time will be able to tell you that what I said in my previous post is correct. The tims knew the game couldn't go on, but the ref brought the teams out for the second half and two mins later blew for full time. We all had to pay in again for the "replay". Had it been abandoned at half time we'd have got in for free.
Is that the one where the extra income from the rearranged game is meant to have kept them in business?
-
This thread is braw. A car crash from the first post onwards

Done. Some interesting ideas in there.

Young player of the month for November:

Pawlett, not Messi
-
They're living outwith their means at the moment anyway so I don't see why relegation would make much difference. They'll be in business until Romanov walks away so I suppose relegation might make him do that and speed things along a bit. I can't see any way back from the debt they've got unless there is a Romanov II to take over when Mad Vlad gets bored.

I think a lot of it has to do with so many relatively young and inexperienced (you could take that as a euphimism for shite) referees are working in the SPL these days. They seem to referee by the letter of the law and don't seem willing or able to use common sense.
-
Surely strikers should be our priority at the moment! We've played 14 SPL games this season, but only scored 11 times! That's shocking.
Miller 3
McDonald 2
Mulgrew 2
Aluko 2
Considine 1
Maguire 1
That's a pretty pathetic statistic when only one of our recognised strikers has scored more than one goal so far this season! Once we're back to full fitness and suspensions have cleared up, our defence will look pretty fuckin awesome. But even at full strength, our strikeforce is laughable. I think this has to be our primary focus in January.
Maybe McGhee doesn't feel that the strikers are to blame for the lack of goals and thinks that it's the supply that's the problem? If that's the case then signing wingers makes plenty of sense.
-
How come you can get booked for lifting your shirt after a goal but you can bare your arse cheeks and not be punished?
-
I'm sure you would love to know how I know that
Oooooh you've got a source
The situation as you describe it probably sums up the shambles of Paterson's tenure mind you.
-
Paterson never wanted to sign Heikkinen and only did so after a lot of persuading by Shearer. In the time Paterson was there, he only spoke to Heikkinen twice, both times it was to tell him he was shit.
I'm not having a go at yout but I find that totally unbelievable. I appreciate the Pele was a mess but not talking to a player that he put in the team most weeks even tho he thought he was "shit"? Would love to know how you know that.
-
Not an ideal draw but I fancy we'll take them out.
-
For a relatively intelligent seeming chap, McGhee can't half come out with some shite.
Indeed. What a fucking stupid thing for McGhee to suggest.

Completely agree. And it often feels like the bigger the occasion, the worse the game.
One of the most entertaining games I've watched recently was Palace v West Brom on Monday night. Plenty meaty tackles, controversy, loads of chances and some brilliant saves.
Not saying that the championship is wonderful or anything like that but quite often you get better games at a lower level than you do in the champions league.
