He did apologise, but it wasn't the end of it. I think the initial reaction was probably justified, the apology good enough. What's happened since is now the thing, it's beyond my fathoming. I guess that making these stories bigger than they actually are is now a financial decision. There is a minority of people who actually care about this individual incident to the extreme level to which it's now being covered, but I expect most don't really care. Then again, there was a story on the BBC yesterday about Elton John being absolutely fine, so fuck knows what makes headlines these days.
"I am sorry for those offended," isn't a real apology though. There are undoubtedly massive issues within the Spanish FA and this has probably brought them all to a head.

Robson says Jensen isn't going to play tomorrow but they wanted to make sure his registration got through yesterday so that he's available for next week.

Height has to play a part in goalkeeper performance too, no? Back in 1863, when the size of the goals was set, average male height was higher than the current average female height. That can't help? There have been arguments that the size of the goals and pitches in the men's game should be increased to reflect the increase in size of the players in order to make scoring goals "easier".

Hacken 2-0 up with 30 mins to play tonight, 5-1 on aggregate. Looks like they’re the ones going to get the message from the Dandies.

Another game, another baffling lack of substitutes.
Wouldn’t say it’s baffling, just a lack of options. Besuijen and Bavidge were the only unused attacking subs and I wouldn’t expect either of them to have made a difference. The team was playing well so no point making changes just for the sake of it.

Facebook morons are going into meltdown, blaming SFA for the Friday night time without being on TV. I'm glad DT is here to keep me sane and tell us how it is
It's also Stirling Highland Games next to the stadium that day and Stirling had asked for and been given an away league tie as the council don't want them playing at home while the highland games are on. I'm assuming they must draw a much larger crowd even for a league game than the uni does.

SOOO we are just to ignore the existing thread then?
That was the league cup thread, this is the the league cup thread - and now that the Dons are in it, it's in the right place...

Away to Stirling Albion. They pumped St Johnstone 5-0 on Saturday so must have something about them, need to be wary but a tie we should be looking to sail through.
Can't find Utd's tie listed anywhere, I'm sure the draw will be updated soon
To be played the weekend of the 19th/20th.

Oh utd, never change

Being “hailed” as utd’s worst ever result. Jim Goodwin, what a guy.

When do we play Dundee Utd?

I like it. Potential cult classic.

It’s certainly a bold move but they’ve obviously had his replacement lined up and expect the new guy to have a higher ceiling than O’Neill. It’s a bit like replacing a player who hasn’t done anything wrong with another one who you think will just be that bit better. We’re used to that approach with players but it’s very unorthodox to do the same to a manager.

Kennedy, Campbell, Watkins and McLennan confirmed as away, along with Hancock, Fatona and Oluyemi from the youths.
-
We don’t want them to win, we just want Inverness to lose. And we’re getting what we want so happy days.

In a shock move, the club have announced the signing of Livingston captain Nicky Devlin

Devlin confirming that he's confirmed, even though it's not quite confirmed...
-
I reckon Devlin's just the type of player we should be signing. A better player from another premier league club, within budget and can do a job. His age isn't ideal but given we need quite a few players this summer - especially in his position - then I think it's a good move. You wouldn't necessarily want a team full of "best of the rest" type players but a handful, mixed in with well scouted signing from abroad such as Duk and Miovski and promising youth of our own and I think we'd be on the right track.

Happy 40th everyone.
Seriously struggle to comprehend that it really was forty years ago today.
The memories are still as clear as ever.
You're a lucky, lucky man to be old enough to have memories of those years.

This went way over my head until I read about it elsewhere, but if you google the lyrics to the song Let's Get Down to Business from the movie Mulan...

I want the four weakest teams we could possibly get. Fuck knows who they are mind you as they all look decent enough
