  1. what does the away game membership give you?

My understanding of it is that it is similar to the Scotland Supporters Club. It will guarantee you a ticket to away games so for the £25 you will have the opportunity to get a ticket for all away games but you still have to buy the ticket.

For those who have a season ticket it isn't needed as buying the membership will only give you an advantage ahead of those buying tickets in a General Sale.

Is it just me or is it only necessary for trips to the Tattiedome, Tannadump and getting to a semi-final or final again? I can't see it being necessary for away games against the likes of Murderwell, St Midden etc.

Of course all of the above could be total mince on my part.  :-[:-\

  2. Strange, just went onto the AFC ticket website and bought 3 tickets, despite not meeting the criteria.

    :bandwagon::AFC2:

Heard some people saying you can buy them from Today as long as you have a purchasing history on the database - not just a purchasing history from this season. If that is the case I could easily see us selling the our initial allocation.

Has anyone heard anything about us asking for an extra 10,000 tickets? I was hearing that over the weekend.

  3. Aberdeen adult ticket £50

    Inverness adult ticket £30

Aberdeen to Glasgow return: 320 mins

Inverness to Glasgow retun: 420 mins

Aberdeen cost per min travel: 0.15p/min

Inverness cost per min travel: 0.07p/min

Highland Council have subsidised some of the fare for Caley fans so they have a lower fare.

Would have been nice to see something similar from Aberdeen Council. Are they still looking to offer free tickets to young kids or has that idea been shelved?

  6. "Second is still doable."

Not according to Broon. In his interview after the match yesterday he said that he expects Motherwell to finish 2nd as they have the second best team in the league. No mention of us challenging for second - all he said was that Butcher won't like him saying Well will be runners-up!

Is it unrealistic for us still to hope for a second place finish, if (and it is a big if) we put a decent run of results together?

  7. Out

    Work

    Work / Radio

Home - heard something about this being on ALBA but can't see it anywhere? Is it the live game now County v Caley is off? Or is it a delayed transmission? Or am I speaking sh*te...

1-1 Vernon Pen  :o (Assuming he will still be on them & McGinn won't get the responsibility (should we actually be awarded one))

  8. I think we should cast the net far and wide.  With the Wotte influence, I wont be surprised if it's a Dutchman.

Bert Van Marwijk was one possible candidate in the paper today apparently.

Wouldn't be any worse than the previous foreigner in charge...

  9. Pleased with the draw. Won't be easy but we have a great chance of getting through and getting to our 4th Semi Final in 3 years as Craig Brown would be quick to point out I'm sure.

For the first time in a long time I think we were one of the teams everyone would have wanted to avoid on recent form.

  10. Apparently it is the Scottish Cup draw which is taking place on Monday.

Seems a bit strange that the SFL leave such a big gap between the ties being played & the draw being made. Not to even have a date for the draw is a total joke.

I guess nothing should be a surprise in Scottish fitba anymore

  11. On the plus side £15 to get in is not bad and you do get a steak bridie.

Heading across from Edinburgh after work. Not a game we can afford to take lightly as Pars have won last 5 so will be confident especially after beating us 3-0 on our last visit.

Don't people only go to East End Park for the bridies? They better not be sold out before I get there. At least last time there was no Q for the ticket box thing then the gates themselves. Hopefully the same tonight!

Proper nervy about this!  :-\ 1-1 then we will win 3-1 AET.

  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17177496

Bristol City full-back Richard Foster has been called up to the Scotland squad for Wednesday's friendly in Slovenia.

The former Aberdeen skipper replaces Aston Villa's Alan Hutton, who has a hamstring problem.

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown, Blackpool winger Matt Phillips and Sunderland full-back Phil Bardsley withdrew earlier in the week.

Wigan midfielder James McArthur was added to cover for Brown.

Celtic captain Brown missed the victory over Motherwell on Saturday because of a groin injury, Phillips has a hamstring injury while Bardsley has a suspected tear in his calf.

Foster, 26, who moved from the Dons to Ashton Gate in January, has never been capped before, although he has represented Scotland at U21 level.

"Craig's quite happy with the cover he's got and the players here against a Slovenian team that'll be a good match," said Scotland assistant manager Peter Houston.

Houston said he was excited that young players like Phillips were emerging for the national side.

"The future is bright," he added. "Wednesday (friendly against Slovenia) is a build up towards trying to assemble a squad to take us forward."

Houston also expressed delight that Scotland had goalkeepers of the quality of Allan McGregor and Craig Gordon to call upon.

McGregor has been a consistent performer for Rangers, while Sunderland keeper Gordon is available following a year-long spell on the sidelines through injury.

"They're as good as anything, in my opinon, and playing at their best are hard to separate," said Houston.

Scotland can expect to face an organised Slovenia side on Wednesday, the Dundee United boss added.

"They're trying to get on the up as well. They've qualified for championships before and are solid enough: play 4-4-2 most of the time with two sitting midfielders.

"There are still (squad) places to be had and it's a good time for Craig to watch players like Matt Phillips and see if there's anyone else out there who can enhance the squad."

    Scotland squad:

Goalkeepers: Allan McGregor (Rangers) Craig Gordon (Sunderland) Matt Gilks (Blackpool)

Defenders: Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton Wanderers) Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic) Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic) Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers) Russell Martin (Norwich City) Richard Foster (Bristol City)

Midfielders: Charlie Adam (Liverpool) Barry Bannan (Aston Villa) Don Cowie (Cardiff City) Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion) James Forrest (Celtic) Barry Robson (Middlesbrough) James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion) Robert Snodgrass (Leeds United) James McArthur (Wigan)

Forwards: David Goodwillie (Blackburn Rovers) Kenny Miller (Cardiff City) Jamie Mackie (Queens Park Rangers) Craig Mackail-Smith (Brighton and Hove Albion)

Would he have been called-up if he had still been with us I wonder?

  14. Just querying how we always seem to shoot towards the Beach end in the 2nd half. I know it's probably just because we're shooting towards our fans but also just wondered a few things.

Like when was the last time we shot towards the beach end in the 1st half?? (Personally I can't recall a time we have)

I don't know the reason behind it! But i think the 2-2 game against St Mirren in December [when we last conceded at home] was the last time we shot towards the RDS in the first half! I only remember that because of CAirey's free-kick for their 2nd goal! Does this also mean that we win the coin toss most of the time and choose to shoot to the Merkland in the first half or that the opposition couldn't give two hoots which way they shoot when??

I have always wondered why when we have centre we just punt the ball towards to opposition full back rather than keep the ball?
