Was a fantastic counter attack and probably the best worked goal at Pittodrie in quite a while. Just a shame for Pawlett that he didn't manage to get himself a goal later in the game when he stormed away from Rutkiewicz. I don't remember him being as slow as that when he played for us!

Thought we should have had the game tied up long before they scored but that would just be boring wouldn't it. Just watched the highlights on RedTV and it looked a definite foul on Langfield for their goal I thought, but the ref evened it up with a soft pen.

He did a talk for my class at school once and had some good stories to tell about his time in the war and playing football. Sad news to hear.

We can't afford not to win this one and here's hoping the players realise that and don't let us down. Get in about them from the first whistle and we should do alright.

Deveronvale 0 Aberdeen 5 Pawlett (10, 25), Ross (24), Paton (71), o.g. (80) Aberdeen and Deveronvale have served up an entertaining opening 45 minutes this evening as the Dons class showed with a 3-0 interval lead. Darren Mackie was skipper for the evening and the Dons took the lead after ten minutes when Duff headed a Ross corner back across the face of the goal to present Pawlett with an easy tap in. A further two goals in a minute gave the visitor's a comfortable half time lead when Scott Ross headed home another Robertson corner and then Pawlett bundled the ball home following a goalmouth scramble. The Dons added two more after the break for a comfortable win.
