  1. I still frequent AFC Hat a little, bit more lively than here, but I can see that changing in time. The front page I must admit looks very good, but do I use it? No...for all my match reports and news I'll us BBC and RedWeb, for banter and rumours and opinions I'll use a forum. AFC Hat will run down the same pitfalls as DonsTalk did if it ries to be a one stop shop - and AFC Woolworths if you will.
  2. Aye but the vote would would go to all SPL clubs and all SFL clubs seperatly. SFL would no doubt vote yes, as they have then more chance of going up, SPL clubs would vote no to preserve there own status in the SPL should they have a shit season. I'm not saying it is right, but it's the way it rolls round these parts.
  3. The newest part of Mad Vlad's plan - move Hearts to the Dariaus Ir Gireno Stadium.
  4. That, my friend, is pure scientific fact.
  5. Too true - but with the seriousness with which Americans tend to take there sports, can these players be any worse than Paatelainen brothers and the Iceman? At least they will most likely be in good physical shape.
  6. Learn to use quote tags, dude - you're making me out to sound like an eedgit. Anyway, I think we'll just do our talking on match days. As much as we currently seem to be in self destruct mode, Special Brew will be off to Livi next week and we can start our last gasp Champions League push with Lee Miller leading the line
  7. The whole of Scottish Football needs a good seeing too. Unfortunatly, it's not gonna happen with everything split up between the SPL, SFA and SFL. We need Scottish Football's own Hugo Chavez, to pass decisions by decree for the good of the bigger picture and not everyone watching there own back.
  8. ...on the lad Lapira and other US players coming to the Dons. Found whilst trying to find out about the article I seen in the Daily Express yesterday with regards to Celtic trying to hijack our Lapira bid. http://www.socceramerica.com/article.asp?Art_ID=562138966 Don't remember ever hearing anything about this Ian Ethrington guy being on trial? Looks like a few others maybe coming on trial along with Lapira though - could be a very useful linkup with have going on here.
  9. And on that logic - we play Killie, Rangers and Celtic all when they have nothing to play for... and a good chance Hearts won't have anything to play for when we go to Tynecastle
  10. Would much rather have Julien Brellier - but we could get a lot worse than Michael Stewart.
  11. For Jimmy's first full season he was allowed to make some quality signings for cash in the mould of Nicholson and Lovell aswell as a couple of quality free transfer signings in Severin and Smith - all in the aim of us getting in the top six. Surely now that we are looking to reach that next level of playing in Europe each season he should be allowed a few more quality signings through the door.
  12. I may be wrong but was Whelan not only 29? Old goalkeepers are not bad - I think it has been proven time and time again that keepers seem to just get better with age. Oh what I'd give for a Kjaer or a Leighton right now.
  13. Might we add Craig Brewster to this list soon?
  14. Read in the Daily Express (I think), that Celtic are considering hijacking our bid for Lapira if they think he's any good. They are asking that other US lad that they are signing to get some info on him. Also, that we are looking at Notre Dame College goalkeeper (can't remember name - the paper is all the way through in the other room...might be Quinn or something?) whos father is from Newcastle.
  15. So are we to see in the remainder of the season what Brewster really has in his locker? Me is thinking we've seen the lot. Would not be hugely disappointed if he takes the Livi job. I'm sure he's a good guy to have around the dressing room for the other players - but he instantiates more madness than usual from our beloved tanned one when he's given a starting slot ahead of Lovell.
  16. One what? There's only one Stevie Lovell?
  17. So...it's DonsTalk of 6 months ago then?
  18. Brewster needs dropped - a blind man can see he's off the pace. How he keeps out Lovell, easily the best striker at the club, I'll never know. I'm not averse to seeing Brewster coming on for the last 15 minutes if the game requires us to just pump the ball upfield, but by then players are as tired as Brewster looks. Somehow knew Mackie was missing that penalty today. As good as his previous one was, I just don't have any confidence in seeing Darren step up to take a spot kick, normally duty should default back to Nicholson now, not that we'll get another penalty for months.
  19. Good ol' Barry Ferguson. Always liked that lad I don't think I've actually punched the air on hearing Rangers had taken the lead before...I feel so dirty.
  20. We can put the trophy next to our coveted Programme of the year.
  21. True but our board tend to have a tendency to loosen the purestrings at the most inappropriate of times. For example: "Mr Milne, can I have 60k to spend on an amateur at best left back currently plying his trade for the Dunfermline reserve side?" "No." "But he has a comedy name..." "Aye ok then!"
  22. Yes, cause from Livi, if Brewster was offered the Aberdeen job he wouldn't see it as a step up...
