  1. True say gangster, but it is basically his team, and surely because we've lost a couple of key players, we shouldn't be that shite should we? I suppose it all boils down to the board again
  2. I would concur with that statement TF! I do find it quite funny what they are doing. Yes it is transparent but still slightly comical! Anyway, i'm sure no-one really believes it is going to work.
  3. I don't care about the result. Its a one off home game. I'm sure they will actually try their hardest for a change. I'm not going with any expectations, just to enjoy myself. Much like I tried to make the best of a bad situation on sunday, and chanted who are are at the celtic fans in the pub when we scored, and shouted ole everytime we touched the ball. A good time can and shall be had!
  4. Blimey, seems like at least two websites are trying to get calderwood's name banded about. Mailing Skysports, 606, and enquiring about large bets on him going to Coventry!
  5. Met Esson when the dons were over in Holland for their "tour". Seemed like a decent bloke. But hardly a signing that is pushing us forward. Just because we've had them before doesn't mean we should resign them Jimmy. I was not sad to see him leave and was he not Shrewsbury's third choice keeper in the end? For a team allegedly pushing for a European spot, hardly inspiring stuff.
  6. You just have to listen to the games to realise how shite we are. We've been unable to play a decent game, probably since Hibs at home? Obviously european ties discounted. The writing has been on the wall for a long time now. Seems like the 3-0 pumping by motherwell was just the beginning.
  7. Was it not someone from Aberdeen-Mad?
  8. I think motivation has been a big problem this season, being in Europe has exacerbated the situation. Thursday will look after itself. Whatever happens happens. I'm going to enjoy myself irrespective of what happens. Its a great European night and I'm not going to be negative about it. Its what we live for!
  9. I don't think the fight or passion will be a problem. These two games are most probably if not the biggest games this set of players will ever play. They will want to do their best ( I know they should be doing this week in week out ). I'm just not going to the game with any expectations. I'll leave that for Hibs next Sunday.
  10. See, I am excited. I don't expect anything less than a good beating, but as long as we score, I'll be happy. Lets face it, we have a miniscule budget/squad in comparison to them so we may as well enjoy them being here. Who knows when we'll be able to see players of their calibre grace the home turf at Pittodrie, and some of us may even be lucky enough to visit one of the greatest new stadia in the world. We should be proud of the team that they have reached this far due to the aforementioned reasons. I'm not bothered if we lose. I'm just happy to be a part of the European dream. Let's all just have a great time, get behind the team, and who knows what might happen. There is absolutely no pressure on the team. Come on you Reds!!!
  11. My favorite seve moment yesterday was his "shot" that I think Miller actually managed to control and pass it out wide to create a chance? I don't think i've ever seen a shot go so high and not travel very far. Made me laugh anyway.
  12. I agree with that. No harm in asking. You don't ask, you don't get. Quite simple really.
  13. Totally, cts, great post. If I didn't wake up feeling like that already, I certainly feel like that now. Not sure about the Bayern bit, but that aside, spot on. Calderwood needs until the end of the season, but he doesn't make things easy for himself, when I think the team near enough picks itself. Its almost as though he tinkers around to be seen to do something. Anyway, fuck the cup run, we need to focus on the league. I won't shed a tear losing to Celtic in the cup. Would much rather push up the league as I think our league form will suffer further if we remain in the competition. As you said, we just simply do not have the depth. But here's to a good week and lets get fired up and enjoy what we have ahead of us. Come on you Reds!
  14. Totally agree! This will probably be one of the worst birthday's i've witnessed (not being in Bayern) but then come march, I get to have a flying lesson.. Whoop whoop The sooner feb is over the better! Still, I'm looking forward to seeing some world class players grace the Pittodrie pitch.
  15. Can't agree more. Though not sure about Foster. I don't know if he's got the potential. Seems to have returned to the rubbish he was pre last season. But can't be helped being moved from position to position all the time.
  16. As I said previously. I wonder what Maguires purpose is. Is it to promote bleach blonde hair? Certainly plays like a hairdresser. Although thats harsh to haridressers, as at least they are quite cutting . But the jury is still out on Walker. Only played 3 first XI games for us so far. Didn't really notice him apart from a few decent balls in, having a shot (though wild was good to see he was willing) and giving away a penalty. He's a young lad, we'll see what happens with him. Foster, well we've been over him so much there's no point in discussing it further.
  17. On a side note, that was hilarious what the did for Havant and Waterlooville.
  18. Spot on. I've always felt that a defender will be able to see the whole game, if not the keeper. Was Schmeichal not captain for united sometimes? The only thing is, it may come too early for him. But he's certainly been the standout player this season.
  19. Great isn't it As I said, I apologise or negativety today. Just so disappointed. I'm sure i'll feel a bit better tomorrow. Just hasn't been the best of weeks for the club.
  20. I suppose so, but we were talking about this in the pub today. The last decent game he's had, was against the huns in May. Thats a long time to be absolutely atrocious. And even prior to that, he's hardly stepped up to the plate has he. He's been near enough rotten for a season and a half. Its not good enough for someone who is "captain" of our club. I appreciate I may be being harsh here, but I'm just fed up.
  21. Thats not his responsiblity is it? I honestly think, and i'm sure everyone has thought, the club needs clearing out in the way it is being run. I don't think anyone behind the scenes is doing their job properly. From as you said, bringing in decent sponsors (although hopefully with us being in Europe will give us a bit more bargaining power) right down to players contracts and marketing. It is a joke.
  22. It looked like a horrible challenge. Hope he's not out for too long.
  23. It was, but then that left us short in the midfield and so on and so on. Vicious circle really. But I've actually lost patience with Severin. He offers us absolutely nothing even when in position.
  24. I don't think Milne would do it anyway. I'll never forget the post Copenhagen dressing room shot, and the commentators were on about wonder if he'll give any money now...Hibs fan I was with today even brought up "Toaster gate". But if he is in it for the money, he's in the wrong business i'm afraid. I wouldn't chuck millions at Aberdeen, especially with the board thats there. I think we should just accept that this is the best form of leadership we're going to get in the foreseeable future. As someone said, better the devil you know and all that...
  25. I agree, he should have dealt with this issue the moment he know Anderson was leaving. But no. He didn't. And this is why we are in the predicament we're in. But now is as good of a time as any to FINALLY get this sorted. Because we've been unsettled at the back, it has a terrible effect on the rest of the team. If anyone can see it, why can't Jimmy. To be honest, I thought that Nicholson wasn't too bad today, but as soon as he went off, I knew the game was lost. We actually attacked Smeltic when he was on. Then he went off and we were incapable of doing very much. I also do think the players have given up. The ones who are leaving (Miller, Lovell and Nicholson, especially Nicholson) are probably resigned to the fact that they have a manager (and I use the word losely) who has no clue how to manage. I think a seagul would do better. At least they attack (albeit it chips and people's heads). Please bear in mind, i was not an anti-jimmy person, but i'm coming round to the idea. I worry he has taken us as far as he can and its a slippery slope down. Anyway, as I've said before, the sooner we're out of th Uefa cup, the better. We need to get this sorted Jimmy, Come on. Stop complaing and get the job done.
